    Nice!
    Sometimes you need a simple plasticy camera and enjoy the simplicity of just pressing the shutterbutten och going to next frame!

    For the most part -- these all plastic P&S cameras currently made are so much better than the actually sturdier P&S 35mm cameras from the 70s/80s -- at least optically....

      If you don’t expect too much out of them, they’re really not bad. I personally like the look.

      @@theoldcameraguy -- The exposure was very good (despite these cameras 'defying' the Sunny 16 rule -- F9 at 1/125 should be about a Sunny 16 for ISO of around 25) -- and the flash strength well matched for the lens/film, noticeable vignetting, but the sharpness across most of the middle of the frame was very good. I recently finished my first roll in my Kodak S-88 (Harman Phoenix) and mailed it off for processing/scanning -- I must say that the camera gave me fits! Fresh battery yet it struggled to advance the film (sometimes it was a 'two-part' advance -- I could tell that it did not advance fully but stopped, and I'd 'squeeze' the back film door and it would finish the advance). And it completely stopped half-way through the rewind. I had to pop in a fresh battery to get it to struggle along and finish the rewind. I should see the results in a few days....

    I'm like you and I love to use toy cameras, leaning into their limitations to make really good photos. As much as I like using nice cameras and lenses, I always seem to gravitate back to the toy cameras, especially with B&W film.

    I don't have that camera, but I have "that camera" under some random name by a Korean seller. Cool little cameras. Very refreshing to just go out and shoot with it and not worry about anything other than compositions. My point and shoot love is strong.

    • @theoldcameraguy
      @theoldcameraguy  3 місяці тому +2

      Yes, these point and shoots just let you focus on composition, which I really like - no overthinking.

    Hi Dave, I reckon it's almost time for a side by side shootout between all these plastic fantastic 35mm point and shoots. I'd like to know if there is much difference between them all, Kodak, Agfa, Ilford etc.

    • @theoldcameraguy
      @theoldcameraguy  3 місяці тому +3

      The results really are all about the same from all these various models.

    Nice shots! Echoing the comment up top, if you’re in the market for an easy P&S, especially as a gift, this might be a better option than used gear. Personally not what I’m looking for when shooting film, but I appreciate the review.

    Which one you recommend for 1st film camera. Ultra f9 vs Ilford sprite 35 ii vs ektar H35

    • @theoldcameraguy
      @theoldcameraguy  18 днів тому +2

      Ektar H35 is half frame and I prefer full frame, so I like the other 2 better. I actually like the styling of the Kodak i60 even better. Functionally, they are about the same, so I would get the style you like the best.

    Nice pictures!! I have one like the one in the video, I used a Fuji Speed Film 400 film and I really liked the results, I'm going to try using a black and white film from FOMAPAM, I just don't know which ISO to use.

    • @theoldcameraguy
      @theoldcameraguy  3 місяці тому +2

      Thanks - You can use Fomapan 400 if it’s cloudy or overcast and Fomapan 200 if it’s sunny.

    hi, i also use this camera, but when i turn on the flash, the red light does not turn on. the flash does not fire even if the flash button is on. does this mean my camera is broken? i don't know... if the flash does not fire, am i not able to take the photo? i don't know much about cameras, i would be glad if you could help me.

    • @theoldcameraguy
      @theoldcameraguy  Місяць тому +1

      It’s possible the flash is broken. You can still take pictures even if the flash doesn’t fire though.
