In the original Cinderella story, Cinder's father actually went along with the cruelty that the step mother bestowed on the girl, I would rather it he be killed by the step mom becuz he at least was a good dad in the movie version
In the Serena Valentino book Cold-Hearted, Lady Tremaine DID kill Cinderella’s father, but because he was treating his new wife and stepdaughters like servants, and even locked Lady Tremaine in her room when she tried to escape, all the while spoiling Cinderella in exchange for her obedience. And that was before Lady Tremaine treated Cinderella like a servant.
I'm surprised more people aren't considering this possibility 🤔.

Ok so amazing theory that deserves a cookie. So while I was watching this I have a grim fairy tale book. In it is Cinderella, ok so the first paragraph is her at her mothers bedside right before she dies. The second is about the step mother/ sisters and they evil and made her do house work. So 3rd paragraph talks about the dad went to a fair (i'm guessing same kind of fair Morese, i'm not sure how to spell his name, was trying to go to in belle), the sisters ask for something and Cinderella asks for a branch of the hazel tree. So I went through the rest of this whole story and it never mentioned her father after that.... But that doesn't necessarily say he died. This whole story described everything so well and beautifuly so if he did they would have said something. So this whole story he was alive and he went along with what his *new* wife and daughters were doing to the girl. So yeah

I love your videos! This theory is spot on. I'd even go so far as to say Lord Tremaine, her original husband and the father to her daughters, could have been killed by her as well. For all we know the sisters could have different fathers and she could have killed two other men. 👸
In Shrek, Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother has an evil twin sister called Dama Fortuna, who was the main antagonist of the 2nd Shrek film. She was quite like Lady Tremaine in that she wants her son, Prince Charming Fortuna, 2 marry Fiona 2 gain wealth and power 4 her.
It should be confirmed, it's makes sense.
There's also the 2015 remake to consider. In that version, Cinderella's father wound up dying in a far-off town according to the servant who had traveled with him. Unless it may be a possibility that Lady Tremaine had somehow sneaked some poison into his travel pack that may have caused his death and her two daughters didn't know that she had a plan to kill their stepdad who was Cinderella's dad.

It’s possible but logically the stepmother actually wouldn’t have any reason to kill her husband because during that time women could not inherit anything from their husband, be it land, a house, money, or even rank. Upon the husbands death everything would have gone to the closest surviving male blood relative, and it would have been perfectly legal for him to take the property and money and turn the women into the street and the stepmothers title/rank if she had one would go to the male relatives wife. She and her daughters would be much safer and better off if the husband had remained alive.
