Like many princesses in the Disney animated canon, Cinderella’s parents were briefly stated to have been deceased and then we learn nothing more. But that doesn’t stop the fans within us from looking into their stories further. Knowing who raised the beloved characters we know and love is something that I and many fans find extremely fascinating which is why we have slowly been provided more information on her parents.
I post every Tuesday and Thursday, so check back then for more Disney, Pixar, Harry Potter, Star Wars and movie videos! If you have any questions about the Disney universe that you would want answered in a video, please ask away in the comment section!

I do not own the rights to Disney or any of the branding associated to the franchise. Discovering Disney is meant for educational purposes which does not take away from the original works, but instead helps build understanding on the cinematic universe. Some links on this page are affiliate links.
In the original story, Cinderella dad never died, he constantly see the stepmother and stepsisters humiliating Cinderella and didn't do nothing to stop it. And it never had a Fairy Good Mother but instead a tree that was the place were Cinderella's mother was buried. The three grew up with Cinderella tears that was the place were she constantly stay when she was sad since she didn't had anyone to talk to.
Cinderella story is so sad, I'm really glad that she got a happy ending.
That is the brother's grimm version. The first documented story of modern Cinderella was written by Charles Perrault with the fairy godmother in it and the father is indeed dead. However if you'd like to go even farther back the original story is an Egyptian one and features only an missing shoe,a prince ,and a girl with no stepfamily or godmother.
Val and Brit I was just going to comment the exact same thing! In that version she was sold as a slave, but bought by one of her countrymen and treated like a daughter.
On a side note... is it just me, or is that verson weirdly detailed? Like, including the name and occupation of the merchant's sister, even though she bears no relevance to the story...
That’s not the original story tho
That's not the original story, that's the story of Grimm Brothers, even the version of the fairy godmother it's earlier than Grimm's, which was written by Charles Perrault.
Still it is a magical rebirth of her mother so it is almost like a Fairy Godmother
No matter how your heart is grieving if you keep on believing, the dreams that you wish will come true.
Am I the only one who thinks that young Cinderella looks a lot like Alice from "Alice in Wonderland"?
No, I felt the same way.
She does!
Plot twist:ellas mom was alice
Yes , I see it.
And Cinderella looks like an adult version of Alice.
Who are Peter Pan's parents 👪
I gotta know. Thanks for watching!
You're welcome 😊
@@IsaacCarlson can u do the prince Full story
Who was Tod's father in Fox in the Hound? I always wanted to know that because the movie starts out with Tod's mother being killed and his father is not even around?
Who are Mowgli's parents in the Jungle Book that's an answer I always wanted to know?
Classic Cinderella Forevah! Both versions are lovely though. Cinderella's mother definitely was a heavy influence. Will say that the "Be Kind" quote in live-action version touched me immensely. Incredible video Issac and co. Could you consider doing a Jay video in December?
queendsheena1 wow totally the same thought process 😉
Oogie had his own holiday bug day never heard of it? that's because it was forgotten so he tried to take over Halloween
Osmosis Jones what 🤔
queendsheena1
queendsheena1 issac and co? That's not who did this video!
Finally my question has been answered! Can you do a theory on who is snow white's family?
Brianna Lemmie yes
Brianna Lemmie weird
Yeah please 😞😔
Brianna Lemmie That’s kind of an interesting idea .
I love the original Disney Classic, with the animation. That cat is hysterical, and yet , if he’s as mean as all get out, she still finds a way to be kind to him .
They still sing in fairytales
There needs to be discussions about how Disney is determined to destroy the Muppets by dumbing them down for kids and completely disregarding their adult fans. Jim Henson would be rolling in his grave.
Disney is always so dark. everybody always dies. Cinderellas mother and father die, simbas father dies, in basically every movie something tragic happens.
I love both for different reasons. The 1950's version because of the animation and cute moments with the mice, plus nostalgia. The 2015 version because we get more back story and dimension into Cinderella and her family, even if it's not entirely the same as the 1950's version. Both are magical and full of love and effort into each movie to me. 💖
the 1950's is my favorite, she has balls
What happened to Pocahontas and Jasmine mother?
he already did that
Natasha Walker have you read a history book??🤣😂jk jk this is like a Disney history channel!!
Die after pregnancy
I need Pocahontas’s mother. By the way, can I subscribe the channel? I love these videos
Maybe dead? Disney loves killing off parents-
Actually liked the '98 version Ever After: A Cinderella Story, where the stepmother really hated Cinderella because when Cinderella's father died he cried out for her instead of his wife...if I remembered that right. I like the newest version best though really
I love both ^^ Cinderella and Kit have so much chemistry, the 1950's version is very old fashioned and spends way too much time with the mice, but I still love that version too :)
I love vintage
In the way, I felt so sorry for Cinderella because, of her parents have passed away and the abuse of her step-mother and step-sisters don't know what love and respect and how wrong that they have hurt her in the way, Cinderella stand her ground and always dreamed about wonderful things that will happen.
This actually makes me think about to each and every time my mother would use her time and effort for me to have a wonderful childhood...this truly made me emotional
I would like you do a video on Sofia the First with either King Roland’s first wife and mother of Amber and James or the father of Sofia and first husband of Miranda.
I agree
What about having both theories?
The 50s version is more memorable even though I haven't watched it in a while. I don't remember much from the 2015 one, except for a few moments and things here and there. Cinderella from 1950 is the one I like the best.
What about Snow White? WHO WAS HER PARENTSSSSSS
You're not alone on that, Isaac! I kinda love the 2015 version a little bit more. Is a bit of a controversial opinion, but I love both versions.
Have faith in your dreams and someday your rainbow will come smiling through.
I honestly cant decide. Both of them have so many great qualities. Great video Isaac!!!!
The live-action version is amazing. It's everything a live-action fairy tale film should have.
Singing
I love the 2015 mostly because she actually GETS TO KNOW THE PRiNCE and I feel that we also see more of her kindness
Honestly, I like both. The 1950 version is the original made a difference in Disney which shaped how the future Cinderella movies would be. Yet, I like the 2015 version cause it gave insight to her parents before they died and the prince and palace were a bit realistic. Both are good for their times. Loved the video, blessings, God bless, and happy new year yall.
Isaacs hand motions are priceless 😂👍🏼
Both, the classic touched me, but when I watched the new one I had a more understanding of Cinderella's background.
I honestly like both of them. They both have their own unique story and perspective. There's some things I like more than the other one.
Hello Isaac!!!
Answering your question, I like the latest cinderella movie, but the 1950 version is my favorite.
And Know watching this video I realized something, Lady Tremain was abusive to her stepdaughter for the heritage? I mean, Cinderella was the one child of "Lord Tremaine" and his wife, so she would be inherited everything and Lady Tremaine wouldn't, so being over her husband and stepdaughter, would be securing the money and the status for her and her daughters. What do you think?
Awww, Isaac, you're so sweet XD
It's just so nice how much you love Disney, and your UA-cam career.
Maybe Ella's mother was the inspiration for her future as the mother of a happy family.
I haven't properly watched the 2015 version, so I can't fairly answer the QotD. My favorite interpretation of the story of Cinderella is the book Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine, personally. It expands a lot on the story, making her obedience compulsory rather than due to her kind nature, since she was "blessed" with being forced to obey any direct command when she was born. It's a really fun and interesting take on the story and features an adventurous spirit who just wishes the only commands she had to obey were those of her own choosing.
If I could I would give you an award for your AMAZING disney knowledge and ability to relate all the different versions of every single tale... GENIUS😊☺
There is a version of Cinderella Called Ever After 1998. A name was given for her mother i believe it's a French name Nicole de lan cray. In the movie Cinderellas real name is Danielle de barberac.
I didn’t even care about Cinderella’s parents until now
Even miracles take a little time.
I just have to watch the 2015 edition! I have a hunch I will love both versions. I really enjoyed this video of a true Disney classic, Isaac.
I loved the 2015 version of Cinderella!! I loved knowing who her mother was!!
Cinderella is probably the best Disney princess. I'm glad that someone actually enjoys these movies as Cinderella is not just a role model for girls but for everyone. Isaac I Love this video and with the video you did regarding Ariel being the mother of prince Charming it make Cinderella seem even more epic. I personally love all versions of Cinderella as each one add more to the character. In the new season of Once Upon a Time, Cinderella is one of the main character and by far a damsel in distress. Awesome Work Isaac your the best.
As to why Cinderella's father and Lady Tremaine's first husband have the same first surname, I like to think it's because they're brothers, which would make the stepsisters Cinderella's cousins and Lady Tremaine Cinderella's aunt through marriage.
You're amazing man. Amazing. So moving. Wonderful :)
2015 because cartoons hurt my eyes and give me headaches! 🙁 but, watching the 2015 version would be the same because they did such a good job!
Love your channel. Could you do Esmeralda and her backstory? :)
I honestly like the 2015 Ciderella, I love to see it with my Mother and Ciderella have always been my favorite Disney princess.
I like the 2015 version because it explains more about the unanswered questions in the other versions
I can't believe that the Live Movie of Cinderalla was 2 year's ago... It felt like I just watched it in the cinema's like a few months ago... Where has the time go??
Awesome video as always, I'm a recent subscriber 😃😃
So Cinderella made it through because of the love and care her parents gave her!😃
you should do a video about if the halloween town series and nightmare before Christmas are linked because both of their worlds are called halloweentown!
i like the both but the song from the 15 gets in my head. also i love the cinderella story called ever after with drew barrymore
Thank you for posting the video.
Definitely the 2015 version. I love your videos Isaac!
I only seen part of the new one. I seen most of the original
SlytherinKing 1 trust me the original is amazing
What a heck
GREAT VIDEO!!!✌☺
I love you so much Isaac! You are amazing!
Again, awesome Issac :)
2015 Cinderella, still the best live action fairy tale made by Disney.
Can you do a theory on why in the animated Cinderella young Cinderella looks like Alice and how they both have a similar look to the Blue fairy.
Also great video as always.
@Wotso Videos There's a play script that I did about in my final year of primary school called Computerella and it's a modern day version of Cinderella. It has an Electronic Fairy Godmother in it.
1050's version is the best: Forever.
The 2015 one really touched my heart though, I really wanted to cry for Cinderella after losing her father and mother.
Have you guys ever wonder who is Jane's father from descentants 1,2
@ Wotso Videos, LOVE THIS!!! "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes"
i think the 2015 version much more clearly represents why ella would stay in such a horrible situation, and also gives her more of a backbone. love "have courage and be kind" (and hayley atwell, of course!)
I love both Cinderellas but the 2015 one is probably the one I’d watch right now if I could
Amazing video ! Thank you !👌👌👌👌
I never got the chance to see the 2015 version, but now after seeing the Cinderella theory I’m going to check it out at some point.
Isaac I LOVE your videos you are so good I'm subscribed I agree with a lot of your theories
I haven't seen the 2015 one, but I have seen the version of Cinderella starting Brandy and Whitney Huston and I really liked that one
I'd really love a theory about Kuzco's parents ☺
I love you you made the greatest videos
I always open my computer in the morning and think wtf was I watching last night?
Best and amazing video as ever im a new sub and i never thought of a regret for subbing and lets stay it that way with these amazing theories 😄❤
You have a great voice.
both i like backstory so sure the original is great but we also get to learn more from the 2015 version we get to grow more with these characters as we learn what shapes them
What about Cinderella's dream of true love, did her father teach her anything about romance when she was growing up and how did lady tremaine went against it and only forward attention to the other stepsisters?
Classic forever never change my mind I love the classic more than anything and don't change it if I had to choose a movie for sleepover it would be the classic Cinderella no matter what
I love both the original and the live action version, I think the 2015 version is more entertaining, and the original I watch for nostalgia.
I actually like all versions of Cinderella... leaning a little towards the 2015 version...plus I love anything with Helena Bonham Carter in it (she really did a good job playing the fairy godmother in that one)
cinderella my fav childhood movie 😍 story reflects to me 😢
I like how his sleeves move, it's just satisfying...
If only her true mother was here to take care of her, then Ella will never be miserable, humiliated and abused for the rest for her life
I think that the classical is my favorite...,but like you said if I had to chose one to watch right now,it would be the 2015 version.
I have villain files! Very cool that you used it😊
I like the animated Cinderella story, Isaac. So, that's who her parents are. And I now know who her mother was. I always knew who her father was.
I like both versions! The 1950s version is classic and Lady Tremaine is downright evil to the bone.
The 2015 version gives us more backstory of Cinderella's parents and finally reveals why Lady Tremaine hated Cinderella, because she was jealous of her.
My mother died some time ago and seeing this made me want to cry 😭😭😢
No disrespect to the original version, but I did LOVE the 2015 version. It just gave so much more insight and detail about things and characters like her parents that it made the story more interesting.
Merchants can still be nobles. Not all of them were idle rich. Some worked but came from a line of noble blood.
I am glad that you mentioned her name being Ella, without saying it was a change of name or new name. Cinder Ella was another means of bullying her, saying she was filthy and servile, and many seem to think it was her true name.
Is it possible to find out how Mr.Incredible or Mrs.Incredible began their superhero career or how both of them got their superpower?
I prefer the 1950 version of Cinderella. Although I did like how the 2015 version was more detailed about Cinderella's life.
Both
Classic Cinderella always. She was the one who I could identify with the most as a kid.
Thank you wotso videos
I haven't seen the 2015 version, so I'm going with the 1950's version :)
I love the 2015 version 😭💕
Bless you, Isaac
Her Mom And Dad Were Her Parents
The music is better again!
It makes since ! Plz do a video on that!
Do a video on Disney's the headless horseman for Halloween!
Marcelo Rivera he just recently did a video on him...
he already did that
I love Disney's Cinderellas but Ever After is my favorite Cinderella movie. :)
@Wotso Videos U could've mentioned that some people think that the Fairy Godmother is actually Cinderella's mother in disguise.
