You play like a 1700 on the best acid
When I dropped acid for the first time in my life, I was 1700, and I did actually try playing chess with my 400 friend. The game lasted around 40 moves ─ around 15 moves more than my king (which was captured on move ~25).
One time when I dropped acid I turned into a 1700 year-old.
I’m so glad I gave this channel a go, chess never felt so relatable and fun before!

Sup Simon big fan! You should check out the Austrian attack against the pirc defense, it's an opening you can easily transpose into against f4 when you play the modern defense (black plays nf6 and c5 early resembling a sicilian dragon structure). There are great players who play this as black and I've found it gives black plenty of counterplay against this way to play. Anyway thanks for uploading these you're the funnest player to watch for titled tuesday!
Final result 27th - top 4%! Those last few games, I can't imagine there were more exciting, attacking games in the whole event! Great video.

Against the pseudo-austrian (or any other modern with Nc3) I play Tiger's Modern, a6 instead of c6. Surprised he didn't teach you that one over the Gurgenidze.
1. e4 g6 2. d4 Bg7 3. Nc3 d6 4. f4 a6 5. Nf3 b5 6. Bd3 Bb7 7. O-O Nd7 to get c5 in, after c5-d4 trade Nf6 with b4 ideas to attack e4. Very sharp and very difficult to play but not bad.
"Oh you idiot Simon!" I shouted at the screen when I thought you blundered a pawn in game 3. Just glad it wasn't a live stream I woulda looked a right numpty :D

The game against Quizden37 should be studied by anyone that's eager to learn how to conduct a kingside attack. Absolutely brilliant concept leaving the rook on f6 and setting up secondary threats around the main idea. Its very hard for the opponent to calculate his way out while keeping in mind the pins and discoveries, hence he used up all his time and broke down in the end. Beautiful Tal-like play!
