I've just bought it & certainly wish I had of kept my money. Anyone thinking of buying I would read reviews & certainly think about it. Thanks for demonstrating this.
I have one and can't praise enough!!! Once you learn the different curls it's quicker than (curling) a straightener and can give you so many more looks than a curling want. It does take some practice but it's well worth it. I also find I don't have to blow dry my hair before using it (I can let my curly hair air dry and then use it). Honestly has saved me 20mins in a hair routine and now my hair always looks like I've walked straight out of a salon.
The Life Of Hair the crazy thing is... I’m in Australia and we had to do so much and be “chosen” to stock this product. Now we’ve sold out and can’t get any as GHD has decided the rest of the world needs it first. This company is crazy. I’m a massive fan of the Glide brush, such a great tool. And they limit drop it. Grrrr frustration plus
Excellent video 👏 I’ve been debating whether to buy a pair of oracles but thought they were a little expensive so I bought a pair secondhand I’ve just tried them and my hair wouldn’t curl 😮 watched your video and was relieved to know that I was doing it wrong I do wish I’d watched it before I bought them as my hair is very fine And I don’t think that I’m going to get on with them they are far too difficult I was expecting to run them through my hair and have a head full of curls 🙄
Very very useful review! I was thinking about buying this product just because the name ghd itself stands for quality and this is supposed to be their best product for curls. I have watched their videos for this product but now, after seeing your video, I realise it was like watching ice skating ⛸. On tv it looks so easy like anyone could do it, but in reality... 😁 oh well, that’s a different story. So I think I will go for the ghd curve classic wave wand.
Or do you think “ghd curve creative curl wand” would suit me better? I mention that my hair is thin and it looses the curls extremely fast. But what I want is more waves than curls.... So what would be the better product?
Yes it’s not one of GHD‘s best products I have to say. The GHD creative wand is a good option if your hair is fine textured however the wave might be a touch too soft is my only thing. I would say maybe a 1 inch tongue would be better for your hair texture to get a bit more curl into it especially if your hair texture is fine and curl drops out easily. Hope that helps
The Life Of Hair thank you very much for your reply. I didn’t quite understand though. Which do you recommend for me? The creative wand (the thiner one) or the classic wand (the thicker one)?
Adela Ciurea The creative one, if you’re going to use one, but if you want a bit more curl because you said your hair is fine and dropped out easily I would go with a 1 inch Tongue it gives a slightly stronger curl. That will late longer.
i am sure some people will love it but i think that the style of wave it creates and the cost of it doesn't make it a compelling purchase for most in my opinion. 😀✌🏻
This is the best review video I have seen so far on hair tool products! Straight to the point, honest and fair view. I was about to click on buying the Oracle but now decided against it.
@@TheLifeOfHair as a curly hair girl I have to blow dry my hair then curl with the straightener. Now with the oracle, I can air dry and go straight in. So for me it saves me blow dry time and I also find this much faster than curling on a ghd straightener. Now I only use my straightener for straightening my hair! My Oracle does everything else! Also, handy tip I do my fringe with it and it gives me great volume.
Best video on GHD oracle. I need to buy a XL 2 inch hair straightener, Could you plzz guide me which one should I get ? If its for professional use then I m sure it would be great . So need your advice/ suggestion on this.
Well personally I would have the 2 inch XL straighteners if You are looking for a very soft curl, I would go for the 1 inch straighteners if you are looking for a more beachy waves or a curl that you could brush out into a soft wave alternatively to that you could obviously have a tong or a wand. I think the Oracle is just one of those things that easily creates a very uninspiring Curl but with practice you can make something more interesting and there are various different techniques that can be created with it I just don’t think it’s very easy you would still have to learn how to use it and if you’re going to learn how to use it then you may as well use a normal GHD straightener and learn to curl with that instead. Hope that helps 😁✌🏻
The Life Of Hair thank you so much for the reply, Actually I need to get an XL 2 inch hair straightener for straightening my long frizzy hair, which one would you recommend / suggest me for this purpose specifically? I know all the professionals usually do use 2 inch hair straightener for straightening long frizzy hair at their salons
Okay perfect so 2 inch straighteners I love my GHD 2 inch trainers I have used other ones Cloudnine, Babyliss they’re all very good I don’t really see the need to upgrade my GHD ones to another brand as the GHD ones do a perfect job of straightening thick, course, frizzy hair 😁👌🏻
The Life Of Hair so you found the GHD 2 inch hair straightener the best among cloud nine , babyliss and other brands ? Is this the one you r talking abt ? www.ghdhair.com/max/ghd-max-styler
Great video 👍🏻👍🏻I have this Oracle, its my favorite tool, however i do agree with you whom its marketed for, i have owned it now for over 2 months, it does take alot of practice but have found many different types of curl, it differs what angle you place it, and also what angle when pulling down the hair, im not sure whether it will stay in production for long. I do enjoy using it and have had lots of comments. I own several ghd appliances, but that's just my opinion .
Thank you for that fantastic comment, I glad you are enjoying it I have continued to used it and I am going to make a follow up video to give my final thoughts very soon 😁✌🏻
Thank you for this review i have frizzy hair and i love Waves ... in my city it costs 239€ so i’m not sure to buy oracle or not 🤔! Greatings from Italy ❤️
Ziababi You’re very welcome, I think if you have frizzy hair is quite a good tool because it, clamped the hair quite hard and smooth out freeze quite well however you probably will need to Smoove it a little bit if you’ve got curly hair for the best results. Keep an eye out for my follow-up review and I will explain exactly what I think about the pricing. 😁👍🏻
One of the things I would say about doing this on the Bob especially above that is above the shoulders is going to make your hair feel very short if you’ve got a Lob Bob/ pat shoulder bob then you could use it but I would recommend trying it before you buy lots of GHD retailers are making sure that the clients are satisfied with the product before they actually buy so if you go to a Salon and say please could you try on my hair and see what you think of the results that might be the best thing to do it will make your hair jump up quite a lot. Hope that helps 👍🏻
Yes they did I’m not saying you can’t make other curls with it I’m saying it’s not easy they are saying it’s easy to create different curls different curls with it, I don’t think it’s any easier than using a straightener and at that price it’s too expensive for it’s limited application.👍🏻
@@TheLifeOfHair I think you're right, they're quite an expensive unit. Here in Australia you can only buy it from selected salons and you have to go to a training session before buying it. That on its own says a lot. I'll stick to my straightener, didn't have to get trained for that LOL
Yeah I don't get it. Professional hairdressers are all comfortable curling with either a curling iron or a straightener, and if this product takes so much education to use as some others here are commenting then I don't see how it would be of any interest to professionals or clients !
Yes Daniel I have see that video it’s a great video demonstration of how heat affects hair, I will say how ever that GHD’s will not heat about 185 degrees, GHD did a lot of research into the optimum temperature for the least amount of damage to the hair and the colour and etc I think the straighteners that they were using in that demonstration were more like 200 to 220 degrees I thought the guy tang video was interesting However it was a slightly unrealistic you scenario in the sense that it’s not very often that you are clamp one piece of hair like that for that length of time I appreciate that people will straighten over and over the same sections but clamping it like that is Definitely a A different thing, Thanks for the comment Daniel keep them coming. 😁✌🏻
I know i'm late replying to your video, just seen some comments where people have given up with using them. I would recommend going back to the salon you purchased from and ask for a demonstration on how to use. I have sold so many of these in my salon, i always book a demonstration on how to use them, and always welcome clients back if they are stuck, the key to using it is once you have clamped the hair you must tilt and pull. The hair MUST touch the cool zone. the silver plate on the side other wise it wont work. If you pull slowly you will get a tighter curl. So as soon as you put the hair in the section and clamp it down, tilt and pull all the way out.
I’m a normal every day person and have failed every time I’ve attempted to do it at home. Honestly such a waste of money. I risk damaging my hair even attempting to have a successful experience/outcome. Don’t waste your money
So do the curls last all day? With my regular ghd straightener, my curls last for days (doing the curling technique) But if I use a normal curling wand, my curls don’t even last for 2 hours
No not in my experience the curls have not lasted all day I have found them to be very short lived and get better results from my straightens like you say 👍🏻😁
Hi Sarah, I have watched every video that GHD has made I have attended ghd training I have been using the Oracle now for well over a month and no matter how I hold it I don’t like the curl it makes, I’m just about to release follow-up video on Wednesday about this item. Check it out 😁👍🏻
Thank you for this video! I'd much prefer to use a hair curler. Alot of money for some average rubbish curls. It's probably a product for people who have money to burn and can't use a hair curler or straightner 😂
Hi you really should get some training on this product before giving a review to the general public. As a salon stockist we won’t be selling them without a demo and try out session for our clients. It’s a fantastic styler for clients who can’t curl there hair.
Hi Tracy as with all reviews they’re just my opinion, And I did say in the video if you want a glamorous curl then run out and buy one straightaway. I did get some training on this product and I wasn’t overly impressed with the curls that were produced by the trainer. I think it’s wonderful that you are making the clients and consumers of the product try the products before they buy it however the vast majority of sales of this product are going to be without this sort of guidance, And therefore I think it’s important that that people understand it is not a product that you can just pick up and use straight out the box.
Too hard! Surely anyone willing to commit to this learning curve can learn to use a regular straightener or curler and save hundreds. Thanks for the review
