Don't twist your hair before putting the styler on your hair. Keep the section of hair straight then put it on your hair and pull x

Twisting is what's screwing with the curl. Don't twist it. Take a look at your first two demo curls and there's no twisting.

Using oil first and then using a hot iron on it will fry your hair totally.
