Secret hitler is propably my favourite game ever, including video games. Also i can recommend doing troll rounds. I recently played a round with only liberal roles but not enough liberal policies for them to win. Everyone yelled at each other even though they all were on the same team. Got shot though, but still had a lot of fun.
My friends and I played with the "print and play" version for a long time before the official release happened. We joked about doing a round where everyone was Hitler and joked about calling it "Oops! All Hitlers." It would only work until someone was elected chancellor after the third facist policy but boy would it be hilarious until then.

The best card in the game is "King Dragon Does Not, In Point Of Fact, Send His Regards, Because King Dragon Is Incredibly Rude". It means the Lysanderoth player has to put down his gun and just looks kinda stupid.
I recommend picking up one of those small single-shot nerf guns along with your copy of Secret Hitler, it really adds some gravitas to the moment when someone gets the "execute a player" fascist policy.
We have the same game as "Time's up" in Russia, but we call it simply "the hat". What you do is each player write some words, usually 10, and then everyone puts them in a hat. And then you have the same 3 rounds, and the words also stay the same between rounds. I didn't know there was a tabletop adaptation of it!
I own two copies of band the dice game so I can play with my whole class. Everyone in my class loves bang. I also own deception. It always seems that I have some unholy power to guess the murderer every time
I've played Monikers, and it sounds really similar to times up title recall, but the cards are a bit different than just titles of things. It's one of the games my friends often ask me to bring to play.
@@tico9951 yeah, I do really recomend it especially because it's easy to get going and have a good laugh edit: also there is a card version of this game, which is very cheap and great for travels (camping etc.)

Doesn't help that we also sometimes use multiple character cards at the same time, so if you're lucky, you can have endless turns where you can take a card from the pile whenever you run out, and you can shoot infinite bangs per turn. But even when playing by the rules, it is a super fun strategy game.

Thumbs up for Sophie. My favorite party game is probably Dixit - there's something fun and distinctly lacking in tension about trying to guess the picture from a single clue given, and the artwork is amazing on pretty much all of the cards.
Cheaper version of Title Recall that is ALWAYS a hit at a party is fish bowl. Its the same game as Title Recall, but you have the players handwrite clues on pieces of paper put into a hat or a fish bowl if you have one. you can make it themed or totally random, and its fun to see what some people come up with, like "what the heck is a paddywagon?" Paper and Pencil/Pen and thats it, free otherwise. Every other player is on a team and we play the same 3 rounds that ProZD describes, but we do charades in the 2nd round, but it doesn't matter. Its also saved me a few times when I forget to bring a game, everyone has scrap paper laying around and a bowl to put stuff in.
All toy guns have to have orange tips by law. This is so no Cops mistakenly shoot someone playing with a toy gun thinking it's a real gun in self defense.

Deception is loads of fun. One of my favorites when our board game group gets together. I'm glad you described the Bang dice game, gonna have to give it a shot. 🤠
Hey great video @ProZD! I am glad to hear you talk about board games on your channel that's awesome. I wanted to recommend the game Monikers. Times Up! is based on a public domain game--usually called celebrities or "fishbowl," so there are lots of versions that have these same rules--with the three rounds guessing the same cards with more restrictions in the later rounds. Monikers is by far the best version. It has the funniest cards in a nice compact box and on all the cards in addition to just the title of the person or whatever is a descriptive summary--so, if somebody does not know the reference they can just read the card instead of being stuck as a clue giver or having to pass.
I love this format for your board game videos! I don’t think you need to do such in depth how to play explanations in your board game reviews I love all of these games! If you haven’t tried it, some of my other favorite party games: Sherrif of Nottingham: a game about bluffing what goods you’re importing. Illegal goods make more money, but if the sheriff calls it you pay a fine. But get him to think you’re smuggling when you’re not and he pays YOU a fine! Deadwood 1876: it’s got a similar flavor to Bang, except ALL of the players are bank robbers. You’re split into 3 “gangs”, but only 1 gang makes it to the end with all the money. You can switch sides last minute, try to kick others from your gang, etc etc, but once your gang makes it, you then have to kill your former allies to make off with ALL of the gold. Celestia: really simple press your luck game. No teams or hidden rolls, just pure press your luck.
One fun one that is just goofy is “epic spell wars of the battle wizards at mt skullzfyre” Essentially, you all are battling to be the last wizard standing and each have to build spells in order to destroy each other
That last game has the exact same rules as the game Monikers. It's a two team game though, not teams of two. And as the name suggests, instead of titles, it's people/characters. So much fun. Our favorite party game lol

“Two rooms and a boom” get in on this my dude! You need 8+ players ideally. Hidden/interchangeable roles as well so you can mix it up if tactics get stale between your play group.
Love your list. I've played a lot of hidden role games, but so far my favorite is One Night Ultimate Werewolf. It's only ten minutes long, but people have loved playing it so much we end up playing it for an hour or more. With a lot of hidden role games, especially if you play it with the same group, it starts to get a little stale. And if a new player messes up and the experienced ones know it, the game is a drag. One Night forces you in that most intense moment...and then it's over. I'd love to know what you think of it, ProZD!
Hey, have you ever played Telestrations? It is hilarious! Everyone basically has a notebook and a random name of a thing, on the first page you wright the name of the thing, the next person sitting next to you will open on that page and then on the second page will draw what they read, the next person after that will open on the second page and write on the third page the name of the thing that they think it was drawn, and so on alway alternating drawing and writing from page to page until your notebook return to you and then everybody can see how the heck "The Great Wall of China" became "The Wizard of Oz" (yep, that happened with me). I cry of laughter every single time I play this game.
Ca$h and Guns is so good, such a hit when I've got 8 people slightly intoxicated. My favorite is The Resistance: Avalon because everyone accusing everyone of being Merlin is so much fun
I really want to try these games out now, especially deception. I'm really into board games and one of em thats really funny with a group of people is Telestrations. You could do a point-system or just play for kicks and laughs. It's hilarious to see someone give a word, draw it, and then that other person draw something completely different and then pass it on to the next person xd Another good one is Concept which is sorta like charades but you're giving visual points instead of acting things out.

Not a physical board game, but Board Game Online is such a great game, at first it seems really random as there's so many events and such that can happen, but each event is an opportunity to use your arsenal of skills and items to win. It can be frustrating at times though.
I got my boyfriend Deception: murder in Hong Kong for Christmas this year since we often host game nights between friends. It's a really fun game and we are really enjoying it. @@ProZD Moniker's cards have descriptions and some of the title choices can be family un-friendly. Those are the only difference I can find, so make of them what you will.
ProZD it’s the same basic rules, but there’s a lot of internet culture in it too. There’s cards like (shirtless Jeff goldblum, Alex treble with a moustache, trolol guy, cocaine bear) and a bunch of other random cards. I honestly think you would like it, based on the fact that i have like 90 percent of the games you have reviewed lol.
I might be in the minority, but I really like Times Up a lot more than Monikers. The rules are slightly different and the way Times Up is setup makes the end game a lot more rewarding and funny. In Times Up, it has round 4 and the lack of descriptions makes the players a lot more creative in how they try to communicate the word. Also no skipping in round one on Times Up makes sure that every player is familiar with all the cards for the more challenging rounds.
I remember playing a huge game of secret Hitler in my high school English class when learning about the book animal farm, so it was called secret stalen and it ruined so many relationships and made us hate our teacher for making us all go through that😂😂

I remember playing a huge game of secret Hitler in my high school English class when learning about the book animal farm, so it was called secret stalen and it ruined so many relationships and made us hate our teacher for making us all go through that😂😂
Me and my friends would get together and pull out Werewolf. Love that game. It's nice to play witb the same group a lot too because then you can see their playing style.
