  • How to center yourself and get calm when your monkey mind is going haywire and panicking wildly
We all have those moments where our thoughts seem to be in a constant state of chaos and overwhelm. The monkey mind, as it's often referred to, can lead us down a path of anxiety and panic if we let it run wild.
But the good news is, there are ways to center yourself and calm your mind when you feel like you're being pulled in a million different directions. Here are some tips on how to find that inner peace and quiet amidst the chaos of your monkey mind:
    1. Breathe deeply: When we're feeling anxious or overwhelmed, our breathing tends to become shallow and quick. Take a moment to close your eyes and focus on your breath. Inhale deeply through your nose for 4 seconds, hold for 2 seconds, then exhale slowly through your mouth for 6 seconds. Repeat this a few times and feel the calming effect it has on your mind.
    2. Practice mindfulness: Mindfulness is the act of being present in the moment and paying attention to your thoughts and surroundings without judgment. When you notice yourself getting caught up in your racing thoughts, take a step back and observe them without reacting or trying to control them. This will help you regain a sense of calm and clarity.
    3. Write it out: Sometimes our minds are so full that we just need to get everything out on paper. Take a journal or a piece of paper and start writing down all of your thoughts, worries, and fears. Don't worry about structure or grammar, just let it all out. This can help release some of the tension and stress you may be feeling.
    4. Take a break: If you're feeling overwhelmed, take a break from whatever is causing you stress. Go for a walk, listen to music, or do something that brings you joy. This will give your mind a chance to rest and recharge.
    5. Talk to someone: Talking about your worries and fears with someone you trust can help alleviate some of the burden. It's important not to keep everything bottled up inside. Reach out to a friend, family member, or therapist for support.
Remember, everyone experiences moments of anxiety and stress in their lives. It's important to find what works for you in managing these feelings so that you can continue to create and share content on UA-cam. Don't be too hard on yourself, and remember to prioritise your mental health.
