2:15 I know that it's depends on situation on something, but I thought in generally case "Male is Yang" and "Female is Yin". Male are Yang, the strong and looks hard from outside. But they have the soft, kind, and wise part inside (like when they're with families or love circumstances) Meanwhile, Female are Yin for their softness, kind, and beauty. But inside they're strong and tough in heart.
@@kelvinhendrianto5192 oh, that's sounds really nice! Could you please give me the source of your explanation? Because it's really interesting and I want to read more further about that story. Though, I'm sorry but what I was meaning was "everything could have both yin and yang in their life", I guess I failed to picture it on words, haha. But since what you told me is something new story for me...I think I probably missed it somewhere when I learned about Chinese's lore and culture before, so I want to know more!! ✨
Red Fox The true meaning of the yin and yang is. A little bit of darkness must be in the light and a little bit of light must be in the darkness for there to be balance which will make us whole.
Ancient people had such deep insights and spiritual connection. Yin and Yang are simple yet complex, easy to understand yet hard to grasp. If we go even deeper Yin and Yang can even be applied at the cellular or even atomic levels of life. Such an amazing concept from genius ancestors
@@Jomuerudoumandanberarumino Being complex doesn't mean there's no reason behind it. Physics is a simple example of something being both complex and the reason behind natural laws.
I'm a Chinese ,and I find this video is good ! yin and yang is really a great philosophy in Chinese culture , unlike other religion , we do not believed the exist absolute good or bad , absolute right or false , we pursue to make balance with the world , sometimes it sound a little ridiculous , cause we been told there is bad and good , but, if you think further more , you will find there is no really good and bad exist . thanks to this video for sharing Chinese culture .
so true . to me it shows true harmony . Harmony of balance . its a better understanding of the universe then the God and Satan of the religious philosophy .
+Addu Malah I do not believe that I am the creator of my own life, I did not even start it. I must take moral and legal responsability for my actions, but I am aware that they were influenced by something esternal of myself.
+Ryan Wen Hehe, I just realized I've been Taoist for 12 years already. Of course I've grown a lot during that time but these views still hold true. Gonna have to admire the cultural heritage of China and hope it will positively impact the world for centuries to come.
flow slow blow glow plow The true meaning of the yin and yang is. A little bit of darkness must be in the light and a little bit of light must be in the darkness for there to be balance which will make us whole.
Yin and Yang to me means that everything has a positive and negative side to it For example knife Knife is often see as something dangerous, a weapon But from Yang's view, it's something to defend yourself or to cook food with While from Yin's view, it's something lethal and dangerous Yin Yang theory helps to broaden view on how we see things usually A threat might be a chance
***** Yea I do know the speed of darkness is faster, but I myself personally don't believe in the law of physics This is because even black hole itself bends (or even break) the law of physics, so I won't be touching the topic regarding speed of light or darkness Your concept is interesting through =D
I've lived a big part of my life in accordance to this symbol (studied a bit of daoism). I therefore thought I would already know everything this video would have to offer. But 40 seconds in and you have already blown my mind. This has taught me 2 things. 1) Humility, something that Daoism is founded on, is a forgetable but important virtue. 2) I should seek others who have have ventured down the same path because they more than likely have learned or observed something I missed or never realized. Thank you.
IvettaB ....that's not true ! you are dualising it ! that's a common misconception amongst Cultural Christian Westerners ....it's not a dualism at all. The Yin was first and is MORE important. The Yin CAN exist alone !! The Yang cannot exist alone , it needs the Yin to exist. The Yin is the Origin AND destination of the Yang. The Yin is the SUBSTRATE of the Yang. The Yin is pure Darkness/ Nothingness , yet within it is infinite potential. The Yin creates AND destroys at the same time , through the same action .......Solve et Coagula. It creates only to destroy , like Mephistophiles in the famouse German play called "Faust" . The thing that this Dark Yin creates and destroys is YANG. Everything you can perceive with your senses is Yang , all things , even space and time are Yang. The Yin is more akin to ENTROPY than any "thing".
thanks for commenting when I watched the video at 2:09 I believed that yang was the darkness he explains it after but I still was confused even at 2:29 . I appreciate that.
Ålex Gämbïnø I agree the yin yang philosophy states balance how to opposites co-exists no matter how they are, they can stay very peacefully. One cannot coexist without the other because it break the yin yang cycle light is to dark as water is to fire. Keeping all this in mind, it reminds us that opposites can live in harmony. So I can live my own life my way as others can live their lives however they please. Chinese culture majority being atheist live by this simple philosophy and yet they seem to be the most optimistic people .. yin yang has always fascinated me growing up just now I’m starting to research more and more on the topic and I don’t regret it. To wrap up this long summary trust the world and all the changes it has to throw at you change is a natural occurrence and the worst we can do is fight change and cling to what we have. So embrace the change rather than trying to resist .🙏🏼
OR half the world will live in peace while the half lives in chaos, which is literally the worst way to live on this planet. This symbol isnt about duality, otherwise the dots wouldn't be there.
Implementing the lessons I learned from this channel changed my life trajectory and learning that there’s a yin and yang in everything. I wouldn’t have appreciated the power of kindness if someone was not cruel to me; I wouldn’t have realized the importance of growth if I didn’t see myself stagnating; I wouldn’t have appreciated the importance of health if I didn’t get sick; lastly, I wouldn’t have appreciated the growth of my UA-cam channel about self development if I didn’t start from 0.

Ying /yeen/ is a Chinese word also used to describe shade, like shade under a tree (su ying = tree shade). Yang (aaaalmost sounds like 'young' in English) is light or brightness. Tai yang means light from sun. To characterize these two, passive, softer, negative, and "feminine" qualities are considered ying. Shade is passive if that helps you remember. Then, the opposite qualities (active, strong, hard, positive, extrovert, "masculine") are assigned to yang. This is not to say women are always ying and men are yang. The idea is like physics, for every action there is a reaction. They are opposites, complements, they are transformative to become the other, and they are in a sense....equal. A rainstorm can lead to sunny green landscapes, for example.
Yin and yang is exactly like Shiva and Shakti. Both are incomplete without each other. Shiva is masculine energy while Shakti is feminine energy which is the same in Taoism. Hindusim and Taoism have many similiar concepts
@@cothinker680 None of the religion is copycat.... There's only one universe and therefore all the religion have laws roaming around the same universe . Hence its obvious that the basic of all these religions will be same in some ratio..... And by the way Hinduism is the oldest religion so there's no chance that hinduism has copied any thing from other religion.
Avoid the gym (yang), fall out of shape and be depressed (yin). Endure the hardship of working out (yin), reap the reward of good health (yang). Be lackadaisical and blow your money impulse spending (yang), and suffer financial penalties (yin). Suppress your urges and pay your bills on time always (yin), and have financial stability (yang). If you chase Yang, then Yin will demand her payment with interest, always. But give Yin her due, and Yang will take care of you.
This is smart! Too much order (yang) will turn into tyranny. Too much chaos (yin) will turn to unpredictability. The balance between both will give you yang with a sensible amount of yin.
Beautifully explained! Whether a telephone pole is yin or yang does obviously not matter. As long as you realize that everything is in perfect harmony, even if it sometimes seems not to be, you have understood the meaning behind it. Go with the flow and stay safe!
Yin and Yang seems like a really real concept of you think about it. Everything is made out of opposing forces kind of. There is no shadow without light, there is no heat without cold, there is no good without evil, there is no future without past,... and the list goes on.

I am a Taoist myself and I love this video. Taoism in itself is pretty amazing, it is all about finding your own path no one way is the right or wrong way. Whatever works for you. The center goal is just being one with the Tao. And because it is such an open religion you can interpret the Tao in many ways.
I don't know about yin and yang but one thing I learnt from this for sure is that just go with the flow don't resist the nature and accept both ur strength and weakness accept ur situation and be who u r which will make u realise there's no hardships in ur life That means u'll enjoy life
wouldnt necessarily name this video the hidden meanings of yin and yang. considering he only covered one concept that doesnt really do the concept justice. even after this video people are still going to look at yin and yang as a duality which isnt how one is suppose to see them. the whole point of yin and yang is to realize there isn't good and bad. it's looking at things as a whole and noticing that there can always be positives found in the negatives and vice-versa. say for example a man gets a new horse for his farm. that'd be yang because it's positive and seen generally as a good or exciting thing... but lets say a few days after the man gets the horse his son is riding it and he falls off and breaks his leg, this could be considered yin. now lets say a few days after that happens the army goes by the farmers village looking to conscript soldiers and see that the son is injured and therefore let him be. this would be yang again. and the cycle is endless from there. or an example i thought was great here in the comments that i'd love to expand on was, look at a knife. is a knife yin or yang??? well... looking at a knife from yin's perspective it could be seen as a weapon because yin represents darkness to some extent. BUT, at the same time yin also represents relaxation and submission and so it can be seen as a tool for cooking which is a positive. looking from yang's perspective the knife can be yang as well for the same reasons. yang is seen as active which could be the knife used as a weapon. or i could represent light or positiveness and be seen as a simple cooking utensil. yin and yang should not be looked at as 2 separate things. because they compliment each other and work together in order to keep balance. this is the nature of them.
I have 2 sons and one is named Drake which means "Dragon" in Olde English, the other is named Phoenix. I did some research into Dragon & Phoenix in Chinese Mythology and I was surprised to learn that they both represent Yin & Yang and together they represent perfect peace and harmony, which I thought was completely awesome!
I think I am very Ying because I was very introverted, idealistic, creative and sensitive as Yang I have clear ideas optimism and more extroversiom now. But I tend to Yin
Yang : stronger, brighter, faster Yin : calm, darker, slower U might think yang is always better but remember there's no light with out darkness also you are not stronger if i am not weaker Also too much brightness can make you blind, too much strength can isolate you, Also strength fades away if every one around you is weaker, also weakness goes away if every one around you is stronger. In other words Yin is the source of yang and yang is the source of yin They cannot be separated, they co exist
Is it just me or does the yin and yang fit perfectly with the energy within atoms. Quarks. Up and down. In protons we have 2 up and 1 down. In neutrons we have 1 up and 2 downs. If we follow thay thought connecting it to Daoism then instead of calling quarks an arbitrary name like up and down. We could explain it as Push and Pull energy. Light being push energy and Dark being pull energy. That within an individual atom is a relationship between Push and Pull, or 1 and 0.

Alan Watts had a good definition for the Tao: That which is so of itself. We Westerners are used to the idea of a commander/commandee relationship to the world, i.e. God and Man, but the Tao is completely different in the sense that Nature in and of itself is self-regulating and doesn't need a commander to tell it to go. All life, including us, grow out of it, in the same way that an apple tree "apples," (as a verb) our world "peoples."
Chak Ma Lau in laozi's book, which is the foundation of daoist, the first sentence may be translated to 'a conceived dao is not the precise dao' so u can may describe it but you can not conclude it.

I grew up with this philosophy when I first realized everything seems to have an opposite and decided to research this idea on the internet, and it helped me realize many things and get an intuitive understanding of many things throughout my life.
Tao/Daoism has completely changed my perspective on life. Growing up in a Western culture, we are taught and pressured into only seeking strength and success while excluding weakness and failure. The only way to live a fulfilling life is not to favour one side of things since it will lead to unnatural extremes, better yet, transcend dualism and know everything is one! (This is philosophical btw, not any of that Deepak Chopra new ageism BS)

Thank you for this wonderful video and explanation. Koreans call Taoism/Daoism 도교. Korean national flag is based on the philosophy of it. We can also find the spirit in Korean alphabet system. ㅏ and ㅗ are considered bright/yang. ㅜ and ㅓare considered dark/yin. Each Korean word block has at least one consonant and one vowel. Consonant only or vowel only cannot be spelled. They need to come as a pair in harmony.
Similar concept in Hindusim about Ardhnareshwar.. Means we everything is balanced at it's core. We are composition of both male and female. I personally believe We need stormy and cloudy days to feel sunshine. We need villains in movie to feel the hero (ofcourse this is based on perspective) We need bad moments to enjoy the good one. We need death to appreciate the life. everyone has it's seed of the opposite side.
This philosophy is beautiful and makes so much sense. Just like matter and anti-matter that scientists are currently trying to understand. Like energy and dark energy in our universe. I wish the world would live by this philosophy and not by any kind of religion. It would be a bit more peaceful. I need to learn more about this.
+TheCherry1994 I like your comment, although I have to add that Taoism is actually a religion. Westerners divide it into philosophical Taoism and religious Taoism, but that's an artificial division.
Your probably better going with science, you see this is a theory that although correct and amazing, contextually irrelevant today because it's such a old theory, it's only context for today's use is feelings and entertainment.
Yes, Yang is the kinetic energy, in action and in motion. And Yin is the potential energy, having the capability to receive and give final shape to the energy in motion. Each complete the other ☯️
Hellbanisher Rockz Letis is actually right, Sun in Chinese can be expressed as Tai-Yang (supreme Yang), and the moon as Tai-Yin (supreme Yin). Though the latter is rarely used in common dialogues.
And the meaning of the yin yang cosmogram is this: it is the sun and moon revolving around the earth during the equinoxes. Let me repeat that: *the sun and moon revolve around the earth* within earth's magnetic fields as represented by the lotus/lily flower cosmogram. The ouroboros (tail devourer) used by those who practice Zen (and occult secret societies) represents 24 hr daylight as the sun revolves around the earth on and around the solstices when it swallows its "tail" of light. The wedding ring is an ouroboros. The AMD RyZEN logo is an ouroboros. Yes, you have been deceived your entire life. More information can be found on my channel.
Government = Yin Free Market = Yang Government has the responsibility of maintaining and protecting freedom and human rights, but can be corrupted to serve darker purposes, while the free market can represent human greed, but can serve to benefit society and mankind. Human society is like nature. It must be perfectly balanced to thrive.
TheTrueSoml2 Daoism(Daojia) is not a religion, the English translation confused Daojia(a philosophy created by Laozi) and Daojiao(a religion based on Daoism),which misleads many people.
Not only does everything contain the seed of its opposite, but everything exists only because its opposite exists. They are inseparable, opposites sides of the same coin. No tall people, no short people. Can't write on a blackboard with black chalk. Opposites are different aspects of the same thing, only words making them seem opposite. It's all ONE. That's what the word tao means.
The actual name of the symbol is the taijitu (supreme ultimate), the independent elements that make up the taijitu are yin and yang, masculine, and feminine, positive and negative, destruction and construction. A common misconception of the taiji is it represents the duality of good and evil, but the Tao isn't about being morally upstanding or corrupt. It's about working in harmony with the universe and finding filial piety. They work together in a cycle to generate harmony. This corresponds with the Wuxi (five elements theory; wood, fire, metal, earth, and water) The universe is constantly in flux, shifting, changing, and adapting.
Sorry, (almost) everyone, but no. You're still assigning the good/bad polarization to yang/yin when it has nothing to do with morals or any other human invention. The "positivness" of yang can mean action, like creation (which we see as good), but it can also mean agression (which we see as bad). Yin is "negative" in the sense of stillness, like acceptance and adaptibility, or inactivity. They both manifest in ways we like to interpret in terms of good/bad, desirable/undesirable, and, ultimately, good/bad. Daoism is much more a philosophy than a religion, because it is non-judgemental in it's essence, since it doesn't bother with human-centric (or any, for that matter) point of view.

We need to implement this balance between masculine/feminine duality energy in our societies as we only mostly operate in Yang/masculine energy and neglect the yin/feminine energy that is equally important. Eastern philosophy emphasizes balance and harmony but the Western world is just full on polarized (mostly towards yang/masculine energy) - The way the world functions is predominantly influenced by Western thought/ Modernity (western concept) and its kind of screwing up the world and making us so polarized and narrow minded
Wrong. Eastern philosophy neglect the yin feminine energy and praises Yang masculine energy, definitely not balance. For all its flaws, the West has a better depiction of Yin and Yang balance.
Christianity in a way seems to be attempting to please a higher being (many people do good things simply to go to Heaven), while Daoism is recognizing the workings of the universe and working with it and trying to make the universe a better place because that's where you are. I'm not saying Christianity is bad, it's not and have done a lot of good to people, but Daoism is foolproof and is basically the core workings of the universe.
Christianity isn’t about attempting to please a higher being (God), Christianity is about trying to become more like him, example: not submitting to sin, being someone who looks beyond themselves, and knowing there’s someone (God) that wants the best for you and your life cause he knows everything about you and everyone on this earth. He has a plan and it just your choice to follow that plan cause God gives us self will over your life he’s just waiting for you to choose him. In Daoism the religion knows there’s a higher power that’s out there.
this is awesomely explanation , today i teaching my kids the word of dao is was combine 2 words together , walking and head, so the dao can be mean the heading direction thats way or road, it also can be the direction of your thinking / spirits, so it can also be the spirits , like kendo , taekwondo, ju do, tea do, universe dao, etc.
Another way to interpret the two dots is, in every light there is darkness and in every darkness there is light; in every good there is bad and in every bad there is good. There is nothing pure philosophically, that's why there is this "balance" in everything
Wow, in Hinduism we have Kundalini the explains almost what yinyang says. Kundalini is said to be our brain and the spinal cord combined and has everything to do with how we understand the universe and how we are connected to it. There are three energy lines of Kundalini. The suryanadi or the sun-cord is the yang side and the chandranadi or the moon-cord is the yin side and the madhyamnadi or the ether-cord represents the tangible space that fills information that commands the working and existence of duality or yinyang.

"The wise person is flexible," Taoists say. Once I read, "in today's changing world being static is deadly". I think, to achieve flexibility we should develop a mindset for keen observation and awareness of our environmental changes.
Tales of Symphonia is what sealed my interest in yin and yang. Yang being water, fire, wind, and light (sylverant), while Yin is lightning, ice, earth, and darkness (tetealla).
It's also cool how this philosophy has rooted itself in the Chinese language. The Chinese character yin has the word moon as its right component and the Chinese character yang has the word sun as its right component. Yang guang means sunshine; yin liang means shadowy. In fact, much of Chinese culture is centered around this one aspect of daoist philosophy, from medicine to linguistics to psychology.

I realized that everthing is infinity and zero at the same time, through my meditation sessions. We all strive towards what we love to be accomplish, which is an infinity, but it's just another zero because we can always keep improving towards another infinity. It's the process that matters, not the destination. It's amazing to me that the Chinese have already figured this out and explained it in a much better way than I could. Yang is infinity. Yin is zero. It's truly humbling. Everything is meaningful and meaningless at the same time.
According to the supersymmetry theory the eastern philosophy of "yin" and "yang" is closer to the deep structure of the universe than the atom model of the greeks.
+Johannes Schröter Chinese dicovered the secret long ago. However, over time the theory was missunderstooded, and misstranslatedwithin the Chinese language itself. You might ask how do I know? I will tell you this, through out human history many had done it with different means. The most effective way is through medidation. Buddhist and Daoist are prime examples. They believe instead of trying to figureout everything first then understand/realize the universal truth; one should feel the universe then eventually the realization will come. This is really hard to explain. The sensation they talk about is parallel to the five senses we have. Experiences with the senses are far more effective than formulating such sensations in a mathatical and logical manner. For example, it is extremely difficult for you to formulate a function that describe any of the senses you have to someone who had never felt it before, and expect them to know what it is.You and I bothfelt pain, I don't have to formulate it to you in anyway for you to understand what it is. That works the same for meditation. After they felt the universe inside them they wrote down what they believe to be the ultimate truth of the universe. Thus creating these type of philosophy/religion. Look inside you, the universe is within you. The space between two atom relative to each other are so vast it can be consider infinitive.
The atom model of the greeks are Yang and the yin yang philosophy Yin. Both is needed. It is just that Yang is now more prominently recognised than the Yin, thus the "imbalance" of our age.
So does this mean that there is a misconception of yin and yang? Yin and yang seem to no be about balance but more so about chaos and control and how either one becomes one another when both ends reach extremes. And the only times that there is balance is when they work amongst each other. But not because they actively work amongst one another but because they naturally find each other in life. Is this right? Someone help. I'm genuinely confused.
I have watched this video about 10 times but over the course of 2 yrs. Believe me if u watch this over and over again with a time gap in between ..... You'll understand it. You'll understand the the true meaning of living life. Good luck people 😉
The most beautiful is the most cruel. The most cruel is the most beautiful. The most loved has the most hate. The most hate has the most love, in within. The best has the worst within, vice versa.
Its dope. Taoism is more of a teaching than a religion. Its an understanding about life. A person with a religion is free to understand the concept of YinYang
That is because eastern religions tend to be more mixed with philosophy than western ones. The greeks separated religion from philosophy, while many eastern ones never made such distinction and grew in a diferent direction.
As a student of acupuncture and Chinese medicine, I learn that the front of the body is the yin side and the back of the side the yang side. Basically, the places where you are more likely to be tanner are Yang, like the outside of your forearms and legs, and the top of your body verses the bottom side. There is one Yang meridian that crosses the front of the body, the Stomach meridian, but overall, I have to disagree that the front of the body is the Yang side!

People who are really good at things have an attitude of being better than they are currently, Im sorry if there's a huge competition of sorts that I really wanna win and I know I'm not good enough to win I gotta push myself to be better than I am, push my limits so I can try to be the best and have a chance at winning, if you want to win at certain things in life you gotta try to be the best, it's almost impossible to win every battle but with motivation to be better and push yourself you can win the things you want too most with time and motivation, but you need the motivation to be better and push yourself, I don't care how wise your little quote sounds if theirs something you truely wanna win in, have a mindset like that and unless your naturally better than everyone else at the ompilpic game, you gotta try to be the best if you want a chance to be the best, if you don't care about winning tho that mindset is fine
false prophets always equate themselves with god and stand between you and your conscience. God said he would never come..if he were to speak to you, it would be through your heart. You must slay the lamb (Jesus), pass through the 24 elders (your ribs) to the 4 chambers (your heart). Christians all believe in the middleman. God has duality, one divides and conquers, the other unites. All false prophets die horribly. Like Jesus.
Firebrain I meant that it's a strong similarity, that the name for the Daoist's "higher power" or "spiritual force" is "the Way". And Christians believe that Jesus is "the Way".
Firebrain No, I just said "truth is truth". AS in, even if it's not from Christianity, you can find some truth in other religions. In my opinion. Like Buddhism emphaiszes selflessness, or Daoism teaches that there's a "Way".

yin-yang represents change. the point that we missed is how the change of good things into bad and bad things into good is inevitable; because there is no absolute good or absolute evil. both contains seeds of each other. give it time, good things will automatically emerge from bad roots and sadly all good causes today will turn to bad one day. religion is the best example i can think. how it was created by good people for good things (though now we think they did a horrible thing) but in my opinion, religion is a lost cause considering the current state of the world. so we should always keep yin-yang in mind and take nothing for granted as good and bad as they are always interchanging. apply this to your life. throw out your bad habits that you once started for good. learn from bad things as they contains seed for good. don't be like a stiff tree my friend( people with strong opinions), be like the bamboo tree, always learn someting new from situations presented. go be like the wind. keep changing because only change is permanent.
ps: i cant think of a good example of good arising from bad. there are simple things like our great leaders who turned out to be incorrupt when the natural order would have been to exploit the population. but i think we can think of better example of a great arising of good from evil.
You may have been listening, but I am not certain you are really thinking about what he is saying. It's not about absolutes of good and bad or good changing to bad its the concept that everything is connected. He not talking about morality at all, although one may deduce that morality is relative from this idea.
S. D. Gentry well i think except "everything is connected", we can also infer the "wheel of change" from yin yang. and that's the thing i find the most interesting about yin yang. it ought to get covered.

A rainstorm can lead to sunny green landscapes, for example.

wouldnt necessarily name this video the hidden meanings of yin and yang. considering he only covered one concept that doesnt really do the concept justice. even after this video people are still going to look at yin and yang as a duality which isnt how one is suppose to see them.
the whole point of yin and yang is to realize there isn't good and
bad. it's looking at things as a whole and noticing that there can
always be positives found in the negatives and vice-versa.
say for example a man gets a new horse for his farm. that'd be yang
because it's positive and seen generally as a good or exciting thing...
but lets say a few days after the man gets the horse his son is riding
it and he falls off and breaks his leg, this could be considered yin.
now lets say a few days after that happens the army goes by the farmers
village looking to conscript soldiers and see that the son is injured
and therefore let him be. this would be yang again. and the cycle is
endless from there.
or an example i thought was great here in the comments that i'd love to expand on was, look at a knife. is a knife yin or yang???
well...
looking at a knife from yin's perspective it could be seen as a weapon because yin represents darkness to some extent. BUT, at the same time yin also represents relaxation and submission and so it can be seen as a tool for cooking which is a positive.
looking from yang's perspective the knife can be yang as well for the same reasons. yang is seen as active which could be the knife used as a weapon. or i could represent light or positiveness and be seen as a simple cooking utensil.
yin and yang should not be looked at as 2 separate things. because they
compliment each other and work together in order to keep balance. this
is the nature of them.

the meaning of the two Chinese words : Yin is Moon , Yang is Sun .

Very well written and thank you for making it clearer to (almost) everyone.

Well
Christianity in a way seems to be attempting to please a higher being (many people do good things simply to go to Heaven), while Daoism is recognizing the workings of the universe and working with it and trying to make the universe a better place because that's where you are. I'm not saying Christianity is bad, it's not and have done a lot of good to people, but Daoism is foolproof and is basically the core workings of the universe.
or just do science and prove everything you wanted to know about anything you want to exist.
"Just waiting for you to choose him."
So they still need to please someone.
@EggyRepublic
Christianity is in fact bad. It's okay to admit it.

this is awesomely explanation , today i teaching my kids the word of dao is was combine 2 words together , walking and head, so the dao can be mean the heading direction thats way or road, it also can be the direction of your thinking / spirits, so it can also be the spirits , like kendo , taekwondo, ju do, tea do, universe dao, etc.
Chi, Prana, and Orgone are all the same life force energy that is in all creation.

Funny how I knew this stuff subconsciously as a child but discovered that it was common knowledge to some over 2500 years ago. Life is great!
Your comment is meaningless
@@Qwerty-jc3so and meaningful at the same time.
The yin and yang are smaller than the atom, but the atom is more useful for most purposes.
It's always good to come back to this video to refresh my understanding of yin and yang. This was my guided meditation for the day. Thank you.

I've always had the colors mixed up and now I understand it even deeper. Thank you for this!

Sheesh, monarchs in China never advocate the "living simply" idea in Daoism. They only love the immortality benefit from practising Dao, when they actually care to promote Daoism. Please go read more books on Chinese history thank you very much.

Truth is truth, and it has an unalterable personality. "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes unto the Father but by me."- John 14:6
false prophets always equate themselves with god and stand between you and your conscience. Like Jesus.
Still not the purpose of the video: this isn't a conversion effort, but teaching about daoism
Firebrain I meant that it's a strong similarity, that the name for the Daoist's "higher power" or "spiritual force" is "the Way". And Christians believe that Jesus is "the Way".
+Brandon Davidson, I kind of see what you're trying to say, but the beginning of your original post seems to be attempting to refute Daoist beliefs.
Firebrain No, I just said "truth is truth". AS in, even if it's not from Christianity, you can find some truth in other religions. In my opinion. Like Buddhism emphaiszes selflessness, or Daoism teaches that there's a "Way".

Yang As You Cannot Save People, You Can Only Love Them.
Yin As You Can Save People, You Can Only Hate Them.
Yong As You Can Save People, You Can Only Love Them.
yin-yang represents change. the point that we missed is how the change of good things into bad and bad things into good is inevitable; because there is no absolute good or absolute evil. both contains seeds of each other. give it time, good things will automatically emerge from bad roots and sadly all good causes today will turn to bad one day. religion is the best example i can think. how it was created by good people for good things (though now we think they did a horrible thing) but in my opinion, religion is a lost cause considering the current state of the world.
so we should always keep yin-yang in mind and take nothing for granted as good and bad as they are always interchanging. apply this to your life. throw out your bad habits that you once started for good. learn from bad things as they contains seed for good. don't be like a stiff tree my friend( people with strong opinions), be like the bamboo tree, always learn someting new from situations presented. go be like the wind. keep changing because only change is permanent.
ps: i cant think of a good example of good arising from bad. there are simple things like our great leaders who turned out to be incorrupt when the natural order would have been to exploit the population.
but i think we can think of better example of a great arising of good from evil.
Because of one religion we can't abuse all religion same like because of one human we can't say human are bad.
