Tim Sebastian garage band is like the perfect name! I remember tuning up guitars and testing drum sounds with the garage door down. Peeking out the garage window, and as soon as we saw about a dozen kids outside the house listening to us tune up, we’d open the door as if a stage curtain. Hit em with the opening notes of Louie Louie or the drum roll of wipeout! Even our local record store would get garage bands down there promoting their singles. The Seeds, The Standells, and Count Five all played at the record store down the street. It was SoCal and that was the way they promoted singles. I actually learned “dirty water” from watching them play in front of me. Oh yea, Tim. Those were probably our best memories huh?

@@anthonymichaelhalloates2902 absolutely the best memories and days growing up. Our band had 4 members, sometimes 5. We practiced after school almost daily and played on weekends at different places. All in a single car garage with the best friends in my life. I was the drummer. We broke up before high school was out but the memories are there to enjoy.

Great to hear this memory packed song again. Back around 1966 when I was 16 and full of the joys of life. The BYRDS and this song in particular take me back then remembering all my friends and what we did, how we dressed, where we went, house parties, hanging out, playing guitar, surfing, cars and girls. Thank you for bring them all back to me. Cheers guys.

Had the privilege of being at this show. It was perfect. Marty and his band were perfect for this. I can’t believe that this wasn’t released commercially. Or at least highlights of the tour. My dream was to see Hillman and McGuinn before they called it a day, never dreamed they’d unite for this. And do Sweethearts... the Nashville crowd was very receptive. Saw many people with tears in their eyes at the show. Mine too. It was magical.

No they weren't. Almost all of their hits they didn't write themselves. They were quite dependent on Dylan for a fair bit of their better known material. Contrast that to the Beatles, who wrote every single they released. Help! is that last album with any covers on it.

There are two excellent vids on here regarding Clarence's guitar. One is Marty telling the story of how he aquired it and the other is Marty playing Hummingbird, a song he wrote for it.

Straight from the horse's mouth: ua-cam.com/video/r8H08Xs_w8A/v-deo.html True story: I was watching Stuart's TV show, and he was playing "Hummingbird". I was thinking, "where is that steel guitar coming from? Sounds like Clarence White." Did some net surfing, and imagine my surprise when I found out it was White's guitar. Matthew, maybe you had the same experience.

Right, this video is incorrectly titled. It's McGuinn and Hillman with Marty Stuart and his band, for a tour they did together. Not a Byrds reunion, just a celebration of some Byrds music (mostly from the Sweetheart of the Rodeo album).
