Thanks Darrell, that was really really useful. The DXO stand alone noise reduction app did a really good job. We’ve got DXO Photolab 6 Elite which is a few years old so not the current version. It has a noise reduction facility: Prime, Deep Prime and Deep Prime XD not sure how it compares to the stand alone app, but it does a reasonable job. The 12K ISO was unthought of just a few years ago. Cameras and software have come on in leaps and bounds. All the best for tomorrow. Many thanks Jon and Sandra.
DXO PureRAW is good, but only for RAW images. I have chosen Topaz Labs Photo AI because it can also remove noise from JPG images. Can you repeat your tests using Photo AI and compare with PureRAW?

I use Topaz AI, very happy with it. Even at very high ISO. One of the new Canon cameras has up scaling built in it.
