- Thank you to everyone who made my birthday, July 7 truly a Peace & Loving "International Day of Peace." Millions tuned into the livestreams and I loved all the posts and celebrations around the world, and thanks to NASA, across the universe. Ringoe star just makes me so happy!!!!! I love him so much! I wish my friends would agree with me more. The Beatles and Ringo Starr's solo career was and still is amazing! My friends don't get it because they like newer music. I prefer older and more classic. It hurts when they make fun of me, but that will never ever stop me from listening to what makes me happy. I had the great honor to have met him once. That was in 1978. I was 15 at that time. There was a big open air concert in Blackbushe England (the Picnic Concert), on an airport area featuring Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Lake, Joan Armatrading and some more. We had no cards to join the concert. But we went through the bushes and spent some time behind the stage. There were so many people. Nobody chased us away. After a while a helicopter landed. Then a car picked a person up, which then passed us. I asked a reporter, who that was. And he said: That was Clapton. Whow! I knew some of Eric's songs. But had no face to it. And that happened in seconds. Then we sat on the back of a truck, listened to the music and someone of our group of german pupils said: Look, this is Ringo from the Beatles! We couldn't believe our eyes.
One hero of my favorite band ever, so close, just a few steps away. My friends chose me to ask him for an autograph. I was afraid, but then, with the paper of a Wrigley's chewing gum and a pencil in my hand I went towards him, weak in the knees and I asked: Oh please, can I have an autograph?
I can't remember what Ringo really said. I was much too upset. It must have been something like: Sorry, when I now start writing autographs, I will not stop 'till the end of the day. Then immediatly he left me alone.
Man, so happy and so disappointed in one second.
I went back to my friends with nothing. We had no pocket cameras with us this day. God, couldn't they make smartphones some decades earlier?😢. I cannot proof anything. Just have my memories. What a day.
Well Mr. Starkey - surely you won't remember that day, because I'm only one among millions. I wish you all the best, please stay healthy and God bless you.
I'm 60 years old now. You have even more hair and look younger than I do 😂😂😂 Goodness, I will always love you and the Beatles.

Aww...nothing from Canada?? My daughter, her friend, and I celebrated at a Beatles tribute concert on July 7, 2023 at Toronto's historic Massey Hall. All night long, between nearly every song, there were folks in the crowd screaming "HAPPY BIRTHDAY RINGO...PEACE AND LOVE!!!" 🇨🇦✌🏼❤
