  • These well worn Heritage boots were worn all the way through the sole and footbed. We patch the footbed with veg tanned leather and replaced the gemming that was also walked through. The soles were replaced with our house leather which is oak bark pit tanned leather. Also we give the boots a much needed conditioning to finish them up.

    Such a satisfying, relaxing video to watch. Awe inspiring craftsmanship. I'm sure the boot's owner was overjoyed when they saw them!

    Nice I like that you did full soles not half soles and you shined everything up like new like the old timers did.

    Beautiful! I would love to have seen lemonwood pegs used, but there likely was a reason he didn’t use them.

      Thanks! And yes normally in this situation we would've used lemon wood pegs, but the customer requested brass tacks.

      He also didn’t do a proper fiddle waist in the shank.

      @@TheRainmanBachelorI suspect those may have been resoled before, as every pair of Heritage Boot Co. boots I've ever owned had a fiddle waist. It's hard to tell for sure, but the waist looks pretty flat to me from the view of the soles at the video's start. Perhaps this was something Unsung and the owner also discussed.

      I think it's an old Sears jacket. Not sure though, it has no label.

    I’m considering a pair of Heritage Boots…what do you think of the quality?
    I’ve had Lucchese (wearing for 30-40 years) but the past 5-10 years I’ve noticed what seems to me a decline in quality. I like Black Jack and recently (about a year ago) bought a pair of Chisos. I actually love the Chisos (roughout snip toe).
    I own a horse farm so I’m
    In boots a lot. Im considering the Apache by Heritage (both oil and non oil).
    I’d love to know your thoughts on Heritage vs what I mentioned. I like leather soles, even for around the farm as they slide in and out of stirrups easily.
    I love your video - new subscriber…I’d greatly appreciate your input.

    Why put such a odd shaped patch on the innersole?? Won't that shape feel weird under the owners foot?

    • @UnsungHouse
      @UnsungHouse  2 роки тому +3

      As you can see just before we put the patch on, the footbed was worn through and almost through just next to the hole. We just matched the wear pattern on the footbed to reinforce the footbed. Then after, we sanded the patch to have a nice smooth transition from the footbed to the patch and to match the thickness of the rest of the footbed. By sanding the edges of the patch the customer won't feel any lumps in the footbed.

      @@UnsungHouse ah...good to know! To a laymen like myself it just looked weird. Thanks for explaining it to me! 🙂
