why ask permission to talk to someone in a social environment? if the person has a negative reaction tell them they should've stayed home and googled the concept of socializing before they step out into the world.

So if it's a packed bar or club where it is loud and the only way someone can get by you is to tap you on the back or shoulder for example, there's no reason to cop an attitude just take it as a cue to move out of the way. That was my issue with the comment.
