This is a great tip. I am 78 yo and have macular degeneration. It usually takes me about 10 minutes to thread the eye. Therefore I only tie on size 10 flies.
Great tip. I'm 75 years old and still fish very small flies 20-22 when it's right to do so. Get very frustrated when tying to tippet. I'll try this next week on the Frying Pan in Colorado
Funny how we stumble onto things like this. I was stabbing at a small fly and accidentally ran it along the side of the eye just to make sure I was in the right place when the tip popped into the hole. Perfect!

Since I hit my 50s I still need the cheaters just to be able to figure out which end of the fly is which. Good tip though.

Best is not always fast. I prefer fast as good enough and use a loop to loop conection. I thinki the best is a uni to uni.
