    They fall in line
    One at a time
    Ready to play
    (I can't see them anyway)
    No time to lose
    We've got to move
    Steady your hand
    (I am losing sight again)
    Fire your guns
    It's time to run
    Blow me away
(I will stay, unless I may)
    After the fall
    We'll shake it off
    Show me the way
    Only the strongest will survive
Lead me to heaven, when we die
I am a shadow on the wall
I'll be the one to save us all
    There's nothing left
    So save your breath
    Lying in wait
    (Caught inside this tidal wave)
    Your cover's blown
    No where to go
    Only your fate
    (Lonely I will walk alone)
    Fire your guns
    It's time to run
    Blow me away
(I will stay, unless I may)
    After the fall
    We'll shake it off
    Show me the way
    Only the strongest will survive
Lead me to heaven, when we die
I am a shadow on the wall
I'll be the one to save us all
    Wanted it back
    (Don't fight me now)
    Don't make me beg
    Blow me away
    Only the strongest will survive
Lead me to heaven, when we die
I am a shadow on the wall

People like to remark on the fact that Batman is the man and Bruce is the mask, but Superman's friendship makes it so much more. Bruce can actually exist thanks to people like Alfred, Clark, Selina, etc. When Bruce loses Clark he doesn't just lose the man, he loses everything Clark represents.
When he says "You taught me that justice doesn't have to come from the darkness" in Hereafter, he's not just talking about crime fighting philosophies, he's talking about his very view of human (well you know) nature, and how Superman represents such a radical change from how he viewed human nature before.

Your right about that one. Superman and Batman's relationship is so deep that you can actually see past their costumes, they're personas and see the men that they truly are, Clark and Bruce. This is backed even more when Bruce actually goes to superman for advice during the red hood story's In both comic and animated.

That first part is pushed on even more with how Batman views himself as an instrument of justice, meanwhile Bruce is the human part. Batman is so deep into the idea that he is just a tool that he doesn’t care about his own relations to the degree a normal human would. Bruce Wayne, on the other hand, cares very much about the others around him.

That many see " Batman is the man and Bruce is the mask" is the tragedy of Batman. As much as many claim that Batman/Bruce does not reach out to them, they do not take the time to see the man as a whole.

      @zyaicob 9 місяців тому

@@randomusernameCallin it's a self inflicted tragedy. He calls himself Batman in his inner monologue. Not Bruce- to him, Bruce is just a day job to pass the time and fund the war.

It's so endearing to see Superman call his parents Ma and Pa. It makes him feel more human than almost anything else to me. I think Superman's dad is one of my favorite characters. Especially later, when everything has already kind of started falling apart, at the Fortess of Solitude. Mr. Kent already got hit in the shoulder by the Green Arrow's arrow that Superman deflected, and Superman wants to go after Batman and company, so he's just like "I don't have time for this" and Mr. Kent is like, "Yes, you do." Such a dad.

The one thing I'm still surprised never comes up in Injustice is just how many villains have these guys faced who used personal loss to justify horrible acts? How many villains motivated by grief? How many dictators didn't want what happened to them to happen ever again in a misplaced act of insisting everything is fine?
Clark should know this has never worked before. He should know he's taken down people making the exact same excuses.
But its like he gets amnesia.

I read a comment from an injustice 2 video in regards of Batman apologizing to Superman where someone said Batman never really got over his parents death, which in turn sort of blocked him from fully being there for Superman. Obviously what Superman was not the best course of action, but I understand why he did it, and instead of Batman being there he just blocked him out. Not in a negative way but in a sort of “ Killing is bad “ instead of “ What you did was wrong, but I am also here for you “ since Lois death caused all of this.
Injustice has to be one of the darkest best storylines thus far!

The Injustice comics vs games are one of the biggest examples of the hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby meme I can think of. I appreciate that although Superman is the antagonist, he has nuances and is clearly unhappy about the things he does but believes what he is doing is for the greater good. Compare that to the games where Superman is twirling his moustache every two seconds and murders a child because plot. I wish the comics didn't have to be tied to the games as much so they could explore these ideas in full without being bogged down by video game storytelling

All hope died when she did… but I promise you, Clark. I swear on my last breath, that I will fight for what remains. I will protect what survived the End. And I will ensure that whatever’s left will outlive us both. That is my oath, my mission, my duty. I owe it to you, Clark. My friend, my… brother. My hero. What I do now, I do in your name. Maybe one day, hope can be revived.

This. This right here is why I love the Injustice universe.
I've noticed that Injustice seems to have acquired quite a passionate hatedom. And I just can't see it. Maybe if I looked purely at the in-game story for the first game and nothing else, I could see it as just another evil Superman story with other characters going with him.
But if you take Injustice as a whole, the prequel comics, Injustice 2, Injustice 2's _own_ prequel comics, there's a lot more to find here. There's a very strong emotional core, because past the surface you'll find that Injustice takes an angle to the "Evil Superman" concept that none of the other stories did: the shattered brotherhood of Bruce and Clark. That remains the central conflict throughout the whole story. And moments like these just take that and tug at the heartstrings for all they're worth.
Maybe I'm biased, because so many of my favorite DC stories are the ones where Batman and Superman team up. Not even in the context of the Justice League; just the two of them. For basically the reasons outlined int his video. Injustice makes that the focal point. Best summed up with the exchange before their final battle in Injustice 2:
"Do you remember the night you told me Lois was pregnant?"
"You knew. Even before I said anything."
"I miss the people we were then."
    "Me too."
i dont care what anyone says I absolutely _love_ Injustice

It is great, it's incredible! Everyone will have their opinion and everyone has their "taste". I picked up on something that doesn't only apply to "Injustice",it rings true with any story. It could be a comic arc/event, Manga, short story, novel, light novel, and so on. Most people aren't reading , they've picked up an opinion from a UA-camr (that probably didn't read it), read a summary, or listened to the summary/play by play on UA-cam. I've got no problem with it, buying print media gets expensive and younger fans may have parents that do see the benefits.
There is no other feeling like pulling it out of the plastic, admiring the artwork on the cover, the smell of a fresh printing, and peeling back the first page is like diving into the world. It's an experience and one of a kind feeling achievable only by reading a physical copy. The Writer, artist, inker, and colorist build this world around you- Suddenly you can hear the action! You can see and feel the motion! You're no longer hearing your inner voice reading, you hear the characters voices! All the tension and suspense feels real! The stakes are real, you've spent countless days/nights with the characters. You were there when he was torturing himself over his kids death; drinking, fighting and crying himself to sleep... And destroying his life and relationships... Now he's standing over the Ahole that set everything in motion, he's pulled himself outta hell, repaired his friendships, reclaimed his honor, it's all come down to this moment.
You only get that when you read the comic. It's funny sometimes I remember some story arcs as movies or animation because that's what a good comic does

I think that while Bruce had a good father, he is a horrible brother, a horrible friend, and a horrible father.
Batman knew he made a mistake from the very start, and he took zero initiative in any of the steps to advert the tragedy that would befall everyone; and yet is still lauded as the 'good guy' for reasons that in the grand scheme of things don't make sense.
The Joker was his responsibility, and instead of ending Joker himself in atonement, and more importantly so that he could spare who Superman was; he used it as a test of Superman's character instead. Then when Clark failed a test that no one who's heart had been ripped out could pass, Bruce chastised him and then abandoned him; pouring salt in the gaping mental and emotional wound. He never saw Clark Kent the man, he only saw Superman; and that's a testament to how horrible of a person both Bruce Wayne and Batman are.
All he did was tell a grieving man to "get over it" and "grow up" while the body was still warm. Batman needed to take the bullet for Superman, but instead he pulled the trigger instead.

This video has been recommended in my feed since it debuted, and I kept avoiding it. Normally, I love watching videos from your channel, but I have a bias against INJUSTICE and how it's help up as such a great Superman story. "Immoral Superman" stories just don't do it for me, whether they use the actual character or a stand-in. They all feel clichéd, lazy, and unearned.
But this video was so well done, even by your normal standards, that it made me pause throughout to read the written dialogue and really take the narrative in. I actually don't mind the spoiler-filled nature of this piece because it tells such a rich, compelling story. Without having actually read the original series, or this specific issue, I feel like I witnessed worlds of experiences at the true heart of the DCU.
This was lovely closer to the surface in how it explained the importance of Clark and Bruce to each other; but where it really shines is with the spotlight it casts on Jonathan and Martha Kent and Alfred Pennyworth. I've long thought that they are the truest heroes of the DCU, and I stand by this rationale. Can we get a video on them? Please?? Everything all of us readers ever cared about in that reality was made possible because of their collective loving and nurturing natures.
The Kents and Alfred deserve a standing ovation that lasts a decade -- the least they should get is a video!
    Thanks for making this one!

I know you're usually pretty DC-focused, but I would love to see what you have to say about GOTG vol. 3 and the TRAUMA it deals with. Loved this video just like all the rest!

Nothing will top justice lords tbh, I still wish injustice was like that but instead of flash obvs it was his wife.

Injustice Superman after being incarcelated: "You cannot imprison me!!! I AM THE ONLY HOPE OF THIS ROTTEN PLANET!!!"
Batman: "Yeah, yeah, Smallville. Whatever you say..." *Throws the key away and leaves*
Injustice Superman: "YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS, BRUCE. I SWEAR...What are you doing here, by the way?"
Ozymandias: "Eh, my peace-making methods were a bit of radical according to some pc people..."

Really wish the make a Batman connection on Lois and Superman, like maybe one of the kids have a middle name of Bruce. Or a young Damien Wayne makes a visit to the farm. Maybe Lois get her medical from the breast cancer covered by the Wayne Foundation.

Injustice 2 should have had multiple endings aside from the 2. Hell, they could've done reconciliation endings in the arcade version without changing the story.
