I have a question on the Speaking Part...The text at 33:17 says that in Part 2 you have to "describe and compare", and then in Part 3 you have to "Describe, compare and speculate" (on 2 photos); however the presenter here says (35:44) that it is ok (in fact good!) to speculate in Part 2, so which is it?...would you be penalised in Part 2 for using speculative language?
Hi Noelf, thanks for your comments. For further clarification please check our Aptis Candidate guide here: www.britishcouncil.es/sites/default/files/aptis_candidate_guide_jan18.pdf Thanks again and good luck with Aptis :)
@@BritishCouncilSpain With all due respects you are not answering my question, is the presenter wrong here then when he says that you can speculate in Part 2, or would the candidate be penalised were they to do so?
With regards to Speaking, Part 1, the question is asked (34:22) "What's the weather like today?" I presume you can make up what you say here, can you confirm please? Also can you extrapolate to talk about climate change/global warming for example.
Not having a dialogue in the Speaking section is a massive retrograde step! The dialogue and interaction of the final speaking section is fundamental to analysing and evaluating a person's spoken ability.
Hi RedRobin y la profesora misteriosa, you can find a description for each part of Aptis Advanced in our candidate guide from page 38: www.britishcouncil.es/sites/default/files/candidate_guide_aug17.pdf Regards. Ana.
Solo explica que hay 4 partes y la última hay que escribir un email...sigo muy bien sin enterarme jeje porque para el advanced me parece raro que no hagan escribir un essay por ejemplo.
Dear Ana @British Council Spain, but I'm afraid that there is no sample Aptis Advanced test in this second link that you posted. It is not actually answering RedRobin y la profesora misteriosa's question. I also find it strange that the British Council is not publishing even one Aptis Advanced sample test...? By the way, this video is great, and Ron does a great job here. All very clearly explained and makes it all enjoyable with his sense of humour. Much appreciated indeed. Regards.
Thanks, i hope to increase my B1 level!
Excellent video... Thank you very much
