The song is called 'As Before The Ending' which I'm planning to put on my next album, and the lyrics are..
Wipe away the dust from the wilderness
Keep dreaming on before times erodes
A day in your life to shine on
Beware the ceramic dolls who come bearing gifts
Deep breath keep going one two three four
So want to keep going deep breath never knowing
Far gone so tired and diggin it once
And want to sleep but keep going on
In your life as before the ending
Good song, well done.
Many thanks for the positive comment, glad you like it!
Superb sound quality. Never ceases to amaze me how good some of these old cassette multitrackers can still sound. And I guess it doesn't hurt that you're using the best one that was ever made.
Thanks, it is really impressive how good Tascam got at building these units! Thanks for having a listen.
The beast of the portastudio family!
Yes it’s very chunky and solid for a portastudio!
Yeah boyyyyyyyyy
The Death Star rises from the ashes!
Awesome. Love the mind-bending quality. Would you say you have a preference between the 688 & the 488mkII?
Cheers Eric, I’d say I have a slight preference for the 688 due to its meterbridge and ability to record 8 tracks simultaneously. That said, I prefer the physical routing switching on the 488 and the inbuilt phantom power.
I love it!
Many thanks Paul! I was just watching your video about playing quiet drums in an apartment, great tips there. 👍
Where do you find these in the UK mate? They always seem to be on reverb in the US and the postage is crazy.
Hi I got this off eBay in the summer for a good price, but it wasn’t working. They don’t come up very often in the UK though.
@@wehappyfewmusic Yeah, seems that way, and I’m new to these tape machines, don’t know what I’m looking for in terms of value and if they can be fixed and where to fix em.
@@millennialanimal it’s worth finding someone who can fix them before you buy if possible. There are some bargains out there though if you’re not in a hurry.
@@wehappyfewmusic Yeah, I think that’s the best way to go about it, not in a hurry so I’ll look around for someone who knows how to fix them up, thanks for your help.
