I don't know why but when I made mine it didn't come out tasting like cornbread, the traditional cornbread. It tasted more like a sweet corn meal. How is this supposed to taste when you’re done cooking it?
Hot Water Cornbread does taste different from regular cornbread because there is little or no flour in it and there's no eggs either. You can cut the sugar down to two teaspoons instead of two tablespoons.
