I think The Bear has depressed me more than it has made me laugh, they should review that category
Comedy can deal with serious topics too…
Season 3 of Hacks was hands down the show’s best. Smart has never been better, and an Einbinder win would be so well deserved (though she is 100% a co-lead).
Okay, but for me Meryl Streep gave one of the best performances in years with OMITB - she gave drama, musical and comedy - just the table read scene alone is a performance of the highest caliber. I really hope she wins.
You would think they would love An actor who sings and is really funny
They will never give to her unfortunately
Quinta just won as lead actress in the previous emmy ceremony!
It seems like he forgot this.
Quinta Brunson actually won Best Actress too this past season, I noticed you missed that during the Best Actress section
Yes, when I heard him speak in my mind I thought: isn't the reigning winner, Quinta? I agree she is probably third place, but still...
Yes, I was thinking the same thing... he forgot that Quinta won Lead Actress in a Comedy Series last year (yes, I know it was January of this year, but for all intents and purposes it was last year)...
I was so confused then they announced The Bear in the Comedy. I agree I think Jamie Lee Curtis gave her best performance of her career and can't wait to hear her win her Emmy but that was 100 percent Drama. Gena Rowlands A Woman Under the Influence vibes.
Thank you for saying that the bear is not a comedy,!!!
Isn't that just beating a dead horse at this point?
Quinta Brunson is THE REIGNING Lead Comedy Actress WINNER!!! And deservedly so. She may not win this year, but let's not forget her wins for acting AND writing are worth noting!!!
The fact that Quinta writes and produces abbott elementary besides being the lead actress definitely is not passing by. I think the third season was not as good as the second, but we cannot let the fact that Quinta is absolutely killing it pass by.
I honestly felt that season 3 of “Abbott Elementary” was their best season yet! Even though season 3 had much less episodes, I think it made the show better because there weren’t any throwaway episodes that would cause the show to drag. Season 3 felt more precise in its storytelling and all of the main characters were really flushed out more and the new characters were all great additions to the show and fit in so well to the overall narrative. That’s just my opinion.
The first time I watched The Bear, I was waiting for a “Hell’s Kitchen” comedy, but I never laughed. The reality is that they didn’t want to compete with finale season of Succession for a Drama Series.
Emmy eligibility rules states that all shows with 30 minute episode runtimes are automatically submitted into the Comedy categories and all shows with 60 minute episode runtimes are submitted in the Drama categories, with some exceptions to sketch comedies like SNL. Distributors can petition their shows to the Emmy’s governing body to allow their shows to switch categories or to make exceptions for one hour comedies (ex. Wednesday) to be eligible to compete. “The Bear”, despite its 30 minute runtime, could file a petition to be eligible in the Drama categories if it wanted to, but their best chances of winning is in the Comedy categories.
It is INSANE The Bear is in the comedy categories! It is a whole new level of Category Fraud!
Not insane… It doesn’t have to be explicitly funny to be considered comedy, the screenplay is witty… Comedy can deal with serious topics too…
@@gauravw6947 I know comedies can deal with serious topics, but the Television Academy defines the distinction between a comedy series and a drama series as the content of the episodes being “primarily comedic for comedy series entries, or primarily dramatic for dramatic series entries.” I think the tone of the show aligns more with shows in the drama category.
Base on Emmy eligibility rules, all shows with 30 minute runtimes are all automatically submitted into the Comedy categories, with exceptions to sketch comedies like SNL. Distributors can file a petition to the Emmy’s to have their shows be eligible into the Drama categories, but since “The Bear” did so well at the Emmys last year, it’s best to not change anything since the show has an excellent chance of winning again this year.
@@davy209 I read the 30 minute runtime rule was in effect until 2021. 🤷🏻♂️
When I look for something funny to watch I definitely don't pick The Bear. It's stressful to watch that show, there is no comedic catharsis.
Abbott Elementary needs to win an Emmy for comedy series, and Janelle James needs to win supporting actress.
Janelle James has been my pick for all 3 seasons! She absolutely makes the series!
They need to finally give Tyler James Williams his Emmy.
Yes! he held it down for the third season
Jean Smart is phonemenal in everything!
AAAAAMEN! Absolute perfection since “Charlene” in ‘Designing Women’!!
I’m for The Bear all the way! It’s my very favorite show. The reason it’s in the comedy category is because of Academy rules due to its 30 minute format.
It’s amazing how I always agree with your predictions.
it’s *SO* boring when the same person wins the award every year. give *nothing* to the bear 😩
Kristen Wiig has 12 Emmy nominations and no wins. How is that possible?
Absolutely ridiculous
Just watched the bear season 3 episode 1
Schindler's list had more comedy than this
I just finished Hacks S3 last night. I love this show so much. The Bear S2 was great, but obviously not a comedy.
I agree with you about Jean Smart , Hanna Einbinder and Hacks. They are excellent and very deserving
My favorite Emmy genre!
Great predictions! Hacks winning over The Bear, from your lips to the Emmy voters' ears! I'm hoping voters have some common sense to vote for actual comedies over that traumatic show but it's not going to happen. Hacks was incredible this past season and should deservedly sweep though it would be really cool to see Meryl win for Only Murders In The Building, she was lovely ❤ Cool video!
This is tough because S2 of the Bear and S3 of Hacks are the best seasons of each of these shows and they are competing against each other. That supporting actress category is 🔥
Ebon Moss-Bachrach is a lot of the comedy in The Bear & season 2's episode Forks is what will secure his win. One of the best episodes of any show, it's got so much heart and triumph. Season 2 of The Bear is gonna sweep just like season 1.
I think THE BEAR is a dark dramedy but it’s not for everyone. And I do think carol Burnett is the spoiler for supporting actress
Totally agree about The Bear. Totally belongs in Drama. It frustrates me to no end! 😣

I wasnt sure if i was gonna like this show or not when i started, i usually am not to fond of the shows that the comittee tends to favour. After watching the first 2 seasons i couldnt wait for season 3. I genuelly think it is one of the best pieces of television i have ever seen. Jeremy Allan White and Ebon Moss Bachrach deserve every award this and the next season, but man i am rooting for john Bernthal too.

Hanna Einbinder deserves to win! Her performance is amazing where her character received the job as head writer on Deborah's new Late Night show. As good as Sarah Goldberg in "Barry" and was snubbed in the final season! This is Hannah's year to win!
I loved the Bear but I think season 3 should be for Best Drama next year.
i hope you make a video about the drama categories, i'm riding for fargo
Paul Rudd was wonderful on only murders
I loved Hannah Einbinder's performance in Hacks, but c'mon - is hers really a Supporting performance? I understand not wanting to vote split, but her character's story is just as important to the narrative as Vance's.
I agree with Brian, how is The Bear a comedy?
I think The Bear will pull off a Schitt’s Creek this year and sweep the comedy categories.
Hannah Einbinder alllllllllllll the way. Not only did she match the brilliant Jean Smart, but dare I say surpassed her in certain moments this last season. Like you said she is a master of both comedy and drama and she should have a massive career ahead of her
Ok the comments are backing me up here but yeah I feel like Quinta is more of a threat than was suggested. But I do agree that Ayo and Jean are probably neck and neck.
Wait, i haven't seen the bear but i dont know if it belongs in the comedy category or drama category, can someone tell me if it's a comedy or a drama.
It's so wild to me that The Bear keeps getting mentioned in comedy category. I really need the Emmys to revise this travesty.
I just started watching the Bear and that show is intense - funny a we moments but that’s a drama .
As a Only Murders fan is kinda disappointed watching lose to a drama series lol
I will never understand in what way is Jeremy Allen White's performance comedic.. His role in The Bear is the most dramatic of any other character in that show and the fact that he has actually won for a best comedic actor is a joke.
The Bear is un-bearable. Tried watching, just not my cup of tea...and definitely not a comedy!
Weird thing to comment
Your opinion is un-bearable…
Season 3 was the most boring thing I have ever seen
@@keekersneakers3259not weired just an opinion
I thought I was the only one who didn't like The Bear😂
Kate Winslet’s performance, in the Regime was very good, wasted on an uneven script.
Another video about category fraud, Brian?
Bear not comedy
It’s such a joke so many dramatic shows have won awards in comedy 🎭 this century. In my ideal world 🌎 Hacks and only murders would win 🏅 w bunch of awards and Martin Short would win.
The Bear, comedy? It's not even funny. Category fraud

Thank you, Bear is NOT a comedy!!!
i agree with everything u said, great picks, im hardcore hacks & bear fan, my videos on my channel prove this
Selena Gomez needs to be written out of OMITB already. She's by far the worst part of it.
But thats like your opinion… she is fantastic
That's your worthless opinion
Meryl streep praised her performance
Im pretty sure she knows more about acting than me, you or anybody on this comment section
@@luistorres3220 yes. It's my opinion.
@@dacrimsoncurse and yours.
The Bear is not a comedy. The Emmy's are ridiculous in their categorization.
It doesn’t have to be explicitly funny to be considered comedy… The script is witty and comedy can deal with serious topics too…
