At 9:40 those X72500 railcars, yes probably they are going to Romania, but no CFR bought them, a private company with the name "Regio Calatori" the biggest private passenger railway operator in Romania. This company bought some BB locos and X4300/500 railcars from them, which are now quite old and, unfortunetaly , unkempt in Romania...
Nice review! Thumps up 😁
What? I thought CFR was Romanian national carrier
@@bxcsf9408 It is, but X72500 x were taken by a private company.
Beautiful video, just like riding this train in person! As an Italian I would state French IC-s are much better than their Italian counterparts. They're brighter, cleaner, more colorful and better equipped.
Thanks for a great review, and I agree with all that you say. The Corail coaches are still wonderful, and were a real trend=setter when first introduced. Incidentally, the Sybic loco would not have needed to change voltage, as the line from St.Lazare all the way to Cherbourg is electrified at 25,000 volts !
I enjoy your videos as always. Good footage of intercites normandie from Paris to Cherbourg. I have travelled from Le Havre to Paris on the intercites a few times. It was when the corail carriages had their first refurbishment in the late 90s with grey and green striped seats in second class. I love the compartment carriages on the corail sets. I have been in a compartment on a TER Bourgogne service from Fontainbleau to Melun - a stopper from Laroche Migennes to Paris Bercy or Gare de Lyon. Good footage and I have never travelled the Cherbourg route.
That whole interior looks like something out of the 70s. But in a good way.
Kinda like how very old cars have super comfortable seats and a retro classy vibe
I never travel in more confortable cars...
OG TGV first class were very confortable too
Before 30 years ago, so I remember the first advertenties of the SNCF => Corail, le train dont les 2e classes sont aussi confortables que les 1ere » true, I mean in this time 1960, 1970, the trains travels were uncomfortable. The seats were covered with “Skaï” low cost plastic matter. Some were made from wood too. Ah, don’t forget the yellow fine folded curtains ( rideaux jaunes plissés) hanging for the windows. Those were typically made for SNCF. I love every your reports on board the French trains and their coaches.
5:35 LOL - awesome video thanks for sharing.
Excellent vídeo One more time!! Congratulations for you from Portugal.
Portuguese trains video please!! (Alpha Pendular and Intercidades)
Thank you very much for tour videos. Thumbs up!!
Very nice video! I'm visiting France later this year and am planning on doing this journey. Do they still use the locomotive hauled services on this route?
No more corail in Normandy... Sadly.
Gare Saint Lazare reminds me of Big stations in London like Waterloo city view and the brick embankments leaving the station is like Kings Cross 😊
Nice Video i love your Trip Reports 👍🏻👍🏻
Saint Lazare is my favourite station in Paris. I like it because it's all classic railway services and it's good for spotting aswell.
Thanks for the bike space information, always useful. Cheers. Tim.
"This guy just died",. You are so funny. 😂
Nice video! Made the same observation riding these coaches as TER Express, they are old but comfy!
9:34 those trains were bought by a private railway company in Romania but still, what French throw away, Romanians buy it. (Ce aruncă francezii, cumpără românii).
Très intéressant à regarder !
Merci pour cette jolie vidéo !
As a WWII history buff it was interesting to see many of the places on the trip. Especially Caen where my fellow Canadians fought for almost two months.
This is a trip I would like to make myself someday
A fellow Canadian here, who lived in Normandy for years. Go ahead make the trip. But I recommend flying to Nantes. It's cheaper and about an hour less flying time. It's a lovely city and you avoid the crowds and problems of Paris. Then rent a car and explore Brittany and Normandy. There's Mont St. Michel and many war Museums and sites connected to WW2. Don't worry about booking hotels ahead of time just do what you would do at home and find a budget hotel or Motel. Or take some camping gear and camp. Choose the municipal or commune owned camp sites as they are cheaper and often almost in town. Or rent a Gite, officially controlled holiday home and explore from there. Coutance, Avranche or St Lo are off the beaten tourist track and so less expensive. Easy drive to everywhere you want to visit.
Took this train about 6 years ago. It’s a throwback, that’s for sure, in a good way. Won’t be long before these old beauties will be scrapped in favour of the, often rickety, always less-aesthetically pleasing, newfangled models.
A whole other definition of "Trip report", but i like it! :D
They used to use Turbotrains on that route at one time didn't they; I remember seeing one at Cherbourg once
Yes, they did!
Can you try the EuroCity train, who goes from Hamburg to Copenhagen?
Another thumbs up - grand video.
Thanks for entertaining us
Great video !!
The seats in those passenger coaches look very comfy
Nice ride, thx for sharing !
Bonjour,
Thanks Thibault, I am worried that the Corail carriages will soon be phased out. It would be such a pleasure to take another trip on these iconic vehicles, still looking very modern externally, with nothing that a refit couldn't fix on the interior although I prefer these older style classic trains, so much more comfortable than much of the newer stock.
They will likely stay a little longer in service abroad, for example in Morocco.
The younger Corail coach is more than 30 years old, in Japan it would have been the time lapse for 2 generations of rolling stock....
@@tricosteryl And Japanese people like to pay for extremely expensive train tickets.
By the way, CFR in Romania has been buying since the mid-1990s new AVA200 locally-built Astra coaches that are modernised Corail coaches.
Intercités eco never have aircon on 🥵
This was a very useful video. Did you have to transfer at Caen to continue the journey or does the train just stop for passengers that need to get off? I’ll be travelling from Paris to Bayeux and can’t tell if I need to wait at Caen or transfer to another train.
I love your all videos ..💓💓💓💓💓💓💓
Do you have a internet page where you can see which material is on a line? I want to find out more over the equipment deployment in French.
Still have the classic Corail seat in second class then.
i would call them "Differently Abled Passengers" :)
Nice video🚂👍
Yeah 👍🏻
Corail are the best of all no debate about that 😁👌
Super comme habitude
2:29 what's the train on the right?
Super!!!
hello BB 22379 ; 22380 ; 22399 ; 22401 ; 22403 ; 22405 TVM430 Cab LGV on ... Now next video ???
Loved the video
0:54 at the RIGHT of the station
What music that you use while in the station?
Hey ! Try the new IC stock: the Omneo Premium. I aparently heard is better than Corail coaches 👌🏾👌🏾
Welcome to the SNCF
You forgot to put NonStopEuroTrip channel in the description
I like this comment! hey simply railway 🙃
Because of your enthusiasm, I subscribed. But here I have two critical questions: you publish this clip on December 13 2019 and in the new timetable from December 15 2019 I can't find any direct connection anymore. You have to change at least twice, in Rouen-Rive-Droite and in Caen. The journey therefore takes about 2 hours longer: 5 hours and a little instead of 3 hours and a little. By the way: only between past Bernay and Lisieux is 200 km / h allowed. Be careful not to turn your enthusiasm into a fallen bookcase, if you know what I Mean.
Hi there, I’m pretty sure that due to the strike...
I'd say I'm not a fan of the musical notes but overall a great train!
You should try out new night train from Žilina (Slovakia) to Gdynia (Poland).
That's the way it should be Locomotive hauled trains !!! :):):)
Just two questions for you please?
1) How long is the trip ?
2) Is there no cafe car???
Thanks for sharing !!! :):):)
3 hour trip thus no café/bar car.
@@paname514 Thank you for the quick response ! :)
yes there is no catering on board but the new trains that are being deployed on the line are equipped with food dispensers and coffee machines. I also add that this train is identified in France as a "regional" train with a low level of service despite the length of the journey.
Moito lindo tren gostei
still sncf!
when are you going to show a video of Italian trains?
he has one, with frecciarossa business class
@@komeshgeo i know bro, there are many trains to discover in Italy besides the frecciarossa.

we are still waiting :-9
He's also got the intercity notte Sicilia 🤷🏻♂️
But What About Normal Intercity Trains,And Frecciargento And Frecciabianca And Eurocity To/From Italy?

@@bandvitromaniaios1307 That was to Dunkirk...
Silent Hunter God damn it.
A nice, proper train! But not buffet/restaurant?
Nope
You mean you managed to pick a day when there weren't strikes?!
What's the point of their having ticket gates if they always seem to be left open?
Given that a car became a sauna without air-conditioning, I suspect this video wasn't filmed recently.
@@MrNarkman the date it was filmed hardly makes any difference to whether there were strikes, does it? There always are
Best comment ever 😂😭
Pourquoi tu as mis "Please check and subscribe to this nice channel :) : " alors que c'est to this VERY nice channel et il n'y a qu'un r à "Saint-Lazare".
where can you buy tickets? I can't find any ic tickets on oui sncf
On the Normandy routes IC become TER trains as from 15th December.
How did u get a train when there are so many strikes
He was recorded a few months ago
That's because with the editing and the upload time, the vidéo was filmed at least 1 or 2 days before the strike. Oh, and not all the trains are cancelled, there is still a minimal service
@@bilalplayz62 ah that makes sense
@@serruredelespace yea but those services are not that accessible tho. kinda annoyed that my train rides which i booked some time ago had to be cancelled
Great video but you need to be sewing some patches on your jeans lol.
those are purposeful rips bud

How about the strike ? 😂
I don’t want to see down toilets and nasty sinks...
Lousy train broken toilet etc.
