Is this the most loaded year for the SEC in a few years? It sure feels like it.
I am a Longhorn, so really hard to say this, but I believe that there were too many automatic "wins" against OU. Now, let's be clear ... I would love for the to lose them ALL, but they might push a couple teams in the mouth more that you are thinking. They should have a good (not elite) defense and it kind of all depends on (a) if they can solve their o-line gaps via all of the transfers they brought in and obviously (b) how well Arnold performs during his first year. However, Arnolds most important ability is actually availability as they don't have a deep and experienced QB room.
Thank you! Longhorns are gonna show up this year, not gonna lie I’d love to see them lose every game too but… a very small tiny piece of me hopes they show up and both of them punch the SEC square in the mouth first year. Boomer Sooner.
I love listening to folks who know jack about the Red River Shootout talkin' 'bout that game. Even with a talent advantage, always bet against the team with greater expectations: they'll ether play down to the competition, making the game way closer than it has any right to be or outright lose. OU wins again next year.

I could see Texas beating Michigan, Georgia, and OU and then losing to Arkansas and A&M.
Don’t sleep on LSU. The new defensive coaching staff will get more out of the players, along with a better scheme with Blake Baker at defensive coordinator.

Rebel fan here. I totally agree. I'm thinking OM loses in BR this year. Of course I hope not....but LSU is loaded and Death Valley is one of the most difficult places to play in all of college football.
@@jakemitchell1671 LSU is loaded with 💩 watch them lose 4 games this year. The only player they have is Harold Perkins. Didn’t do well against Wisconsin. They’re not good at all
the offense is pretty loaded nussmeier has looked good when hes had opportunities and aj swann provides an experienced backup the wide receiver room has plenty of proven production (lacy thomas daniels) plus loads and loads of talent the te room is led by mason taylor who is one of the better tes in the country they also bring in a top 40 recruit and the top te in the 2024 class treydez green the oline returns four starters from a 2023 line that was selected as joe moore award finalists including the best tackle duo in the country will campbell and emery jones now the rb room is pretty mid but its not bad josh williams is a veteran presence who does a lot of good things kaleb jackson does have some breakout potential in year 2 then john emery is another veteran presence who usually gets the hot hand a couple times a year and caden durham is a top 100 recruit coming in
the defense is not as loaded they did hire what is generally considered an elite defensive staff which should at least be able to get the most from what they have though the lb room is pretty good perkins is a monster greg penn has made a lot of tackles over the last two seasons and got involved in a few turnovers last year he was selected to the phil steele all sec fourth team in 2023 whit weeks really should have been starting over omar speights who was terrible last year whit had a pretty good year for a freshman with 50 tackles his brother west brings some experience with 75 tackles over the last 3 years with lsu and uva as well the edge rusher group is also solid nothing special but solid jones swinson shand and womack have all done some good things in their careers and womack was a 5 star last cycle the interior dline is a concern though they only return two scholarship players guillory is pretty experienced hes not awful but hes mid and jalen lee wont be able to offer much outside of maybe some goalline packages they bring in gio paez who has some experience at wisconsin but like guillory is pretty mid they also bring in jayviar suggs who was 2nd team all gliac at gvsu and had portal offers from places like michigan and fsu and a 5 star in dominick mckinley they should be able to contribute but you dont wanna count on a true freshman and a d 2 transfer outside of that its a couple 3 star freshmen and a juco transfer from emcc who had an underwhelming spring bo davis is an elite dt coach though the db room is also a concern there is a lot of experience but its mostly bad experience they have combined to play 202 college football games with 102 starts between lsu and various places they transfered from but theres really only 2 or 3 players in that room who have even been servicable that being said a couple of those guys who got thrown into playing time were young last year they tried shuffling guys around in the spring pj woodland a freshman early enrollee from hatteisburg ms supposedly had a big spring and corey raymond is back in charge of the cbs (if we are talking solely corners hes been over jalen collins tredavious white donte jackson greedy williams kristian fulton and derek stingley in his first stint at lsu) so even if the db room still likely wont be good there is reason to expect improvement
Do this with the ACC, Big 12, and Big Ten and you won’t find many teams with a difficult schedule. SEC is tough.
Favorite bet is the under for florida. Absolutely brutal schedule
I also like the over for Vandy and the under for Florida
I like the over for A&M and OU. I like the under for Texas and Mizzou
If you had to play either your in state rivals or 3 closest geographical programs. I think Florida would have it hardest with Texas a close second.

With the new hires CBK made on the defensive staff. The LSU defense will improve more than the offense under Nuss's leadership will regress. Tigers three toughest games (ole miss, bama and ou) are all in BR. CBK in year 3 has LSU in better shape than the nine other opponents on the schedule.

As an OU fan, the disrespect is crazy, but I’m ok with sneaking up on the SEC. Everyone is sucking off Texas while all they’ve ever done is underachieve outside of last season.
@@Shabutie554 difference is OU can beat Texas and still only have 8 wins this year, Texas can lose to OU and till have double digit wins. big difference in schedule, not ability. Oklahoma is Texas 2nd toughest opponent on their schedule. Ou plays 6 teams that were top 20 overall in conference Texas plays 2. saying the over under is 10.5 means they go .500 vs good teams. literally the bottom half of the SEC and uga is their schedule. they'll still drop a few imo

Our QB is more talented than Dillon Gabriel (the one we had last year in case you weren’t aware - ranked top 5 in nation at end of season)
Second half of the year when our RBs weren’t injured we had a RB go for over 100 in every game
And we ended the season at 42nd rush defense even after half our starting defense got injured. Next year we will have more depth and won’t be replacing starters with freshman when they need a break
UGA is going undefeated. only team that worries me is texas, but i know my dawgs got it.
Clemson, @KY, @Bama, Auburn is always tough, @Texas, @Ole Miss, FL, & Tenn? No one is going undefeated my guy. Not in the new SEC. UGA is the best team, but it ain’t happening. Especially after 3 consecutive undefeated regular seasons. Probability isn’t in your favor there.

I think Georgia loses to Texas. Ole miss is going to lose at LSU if Blake baker is anywhere near as good of a dc as he was for Missouri

You guys are not smart today and playing a guessing game. You have Ole Miss beating LSU in Tiger Stadium, and Bama losing to LSU in Tiger stadium. So Ole Miss is your third best team in the SEC, with the #68 ranked defense from last season is just going to be top #20 this season? I will take that bet all day that they are not and will not make the SECCG. SMH
You make a good point Calvin, but clearly you haven't followed the rebuilding of the OM defense. First of all, the #68 ranking is misleading. They allowed 22 points per game (iirc), which paired with an elite offense netted an 11-2 season - better than LSU. The OM offense will be better in '24, and the defense will be MUCH better. Check out the transfer portal acquisitions on D, in addition to a top 5 high school recruiting class on defense. LSU might very well beat the brakes off the Rebels this year, but it's not likely. Without Daniels the Tigers likely will not be better in '24. Ole Miss very likely will be much better in '24. Just my opinion. With respect.
@@jakemitchell1671 first of all, I’m not comparing to LSU, that’s where you are incorrect. I said #68 in general, and that’s the ranking, period. Nussmier can start for more than half of the SEC schools this season, so don’t just think they are rebuilding at QB. No one knew Daniels would have the season he did, so don’t just say LSU will not better, because if they had a top 30 defense lady year, they would’ve made the CFP. That horrible defense will improve, as it can’t get any worse. Now to the portal, you do realize that portal players are there for a reason right? You think they were so great at their school they wanted to transfer? If you are going by the portal transfers , that hasn’t played a snap at Ole Miss, then that is a hope only. LSU had the number one portal class two years ago, mostly defensive players, where did that get them? Ole Miss has no defense, not enough to contend for an SEC title. Period. With all due respect.
@@CalvinK225 Too much there for me to unpack right now (wife wants to watch TV, lol), but I wil say your apparent view of TP contribution doesn't hold water in the case of Ole MIss. I'll provide specifics later. The primary mistake you're making is that in this day of TP/NIL anything can be learned from the previous year. You say "Ole MIss has no defense." That's an indefensible position. It's more accurate to say "In the past Ole Miss has had weak defenses." If you will simply look at the changes in personnel for the '24 season you will see that Ole MIss very likely will have a MUCH improved defense. Only time will tell.

Ole Miss over is a lock. I like Texas over and I’d lean Georgia over (but I’m less comfortable with that). I’d lean Alabama under but wouldn’t be surprised if they hit the over. Call me crazy but I like Vandy over too

@SwagM-xn7gj I don’t know…you can’t just go from Saban system to KDB system and expect no hiccups. There will be mistakes in key moments, at least what I’m expecting. I think after this season, sure a 10-2 is fair to expect.

@@jakenail99 it's funny that people think DeBoer losing Grubb is some huge deal, he never fully expected him to come to bama in the first place. sure it's a loss for him but if you know what he was then you know they got a good replacement. Grubbs main focus run game coordination and OL... thats what he's always been. he was a great play caller as well. Washington's run game wasn't the strength of the team, and Shepard was who coordinated the majority of the passing game. The OL coach Kapilovic runs a similar scheme that will fit really well in theory. DeBoer runs the offense as he always has.
As a Bama fan, I expect my team to have no more than 4 loses with this roster. For right now. 2 looses would be pretty good. I'm dreaming if they have none.
