My 12 year old son is TOTALLY geeking out over your baby yoda bowls! We've decided to do twice baked potato skins for dinner tomorrow. Great recipe Brian!
Love the ideas and all of your recipes. Was disappointed about added sugar in all of the Plant Pure products that I looked at. But we are inspired to make Brian’s stuffed potatoes with the ingredients noted on packet omitting the sugars. Thank you for all that you share.
We do use added sugar in some of the meal starters, but minimally. Some of these contain only 1 gram of sugar with the exception of one meal that contains 2 grams. Dr. Campbell (who eats these meals regularly) says there is no science to suggest that using such small amounts of sugar to contribute flavor to meals has any adverse health effects. I have always believed that making meals that are appealing to the mainstream is the only way we will ever change our health trajectory.
@@kimcampbell9107 understood and appreciate your reply. I get it. But I am a person with a serious addiction to sugar and significant weight issue and unfortunately I just can’t have any processed sugar . It triggers me to want more. So even 1 to 2 grams is too much for me. it’s not so much of a health concern, but one of ability tolerate. I try my best to adhere to SOS free recommended by many WFPB doctors. The no sugar is definitely a thing for people suffering with food addiction issues. I have followed and am thankful for Dr Campbell and your family’s good work, even have your Plant Pure cookbook.
Love the happy-dance-humming during the tasting; learned from a friend that I do that, too! I'm inspired to make some stuffed potatoes this week. Cheers!
I love the recipe! It's excellent. It looks delicious. I will have to adapt it and experiment with other ingredients because in Argentina we don't have that product. Thanks for the video. You always create great content for your channel.
This was so good! I also tried your cauliflower with sweet potatoes and sun-dried tomato, even my non-plant-based friend love it 🥰 great job Brian and Jessica keep up the good work
Was waiting for this! Kim and Nelson were on with Chef AJ the other day so I knew this was coming! I have the baked potato soup mix so I was waiting to see what Brian would come up with. This is going to be great!
Now I'm craving twice-baked loaded potato skins. I'm headed to the store in a couple of hours, think I'll get the ingredients for this (except the starter kit, for now). Thanks for the recipe.
This this was perfect I just finished watching your interview/podcast with the Campbell’s and I cannot wait to try that lasagna stew when I go home and I’m going to purchase all of their stuff when I get parked tonight I watch them on AJ then watch them on you and now watch this one the recipe looks amazing
I thoroughly enjoyed watching the video of your podcast and after it was over I went to their website and ordered 6 packets!! I love cooking from scratch, but wanted to try the packets as a quick go too meal when I am tired after a long day at work. I will definitely try Brian’s recipe 😋😋 Thank You for sharing this video ❤️ Blessings from a cold 🥶 and snowy ❄️ Ohio ❤️🌱
Hi guys!! Love their food! I first got them to send to my daughter and family along with their frozen meals! Then I thought I would like to try them too! So I also got the frozen and the meal starters! I haven't had one that I didn't love! I made the corn chowder yesterday! So yummy! I scooped it on my baked sweet potatoes 😋
What's funny is that I randomly came up with a twice baked potato myself a few days ago - and I think I'm about to make another batch, too! lol Looks yumm! :)
To Brians's potato skins he should add the dry sauce to the milk and mix it together and then add to the potatoes. He can add the dry ingredients to 1/2 or 3/4 cup of milk then add to potatoes and if he needs more milk can add it.
Looks yummy! Will order some packets today! With or without the packets I would love to see you tackle hasselback potatoes and leek-potato soup! Also, is there a bacon bit that you like? Recipe or prepared product.
I say this in the nicest way, the kits are pricey when you factor in the cost of ALL the vegetables etc. one needs to buy!! This is the first video you have EVER made that I didn't like. BUT...I am NOT giving it a thumbs down, just sharing my view. A friend and I give free plant based cooking class via the local food bank for people who are very low income, and for the cost of one kit they could make four meals from recipes like those the The Whole Food Plant Based Cooking Show does. I know you like her channel.
Hi Beth! Thanks for the feedback. We really do appreciate it! The kits are definitely not for everyone, but I love that Nelson mentioned in our interview that PlantPure is committed to making these kits available "at-cost" (waiving ALL profits) to people who are experiencing food insecurities or lacking access to healthy foods (in lower income communities). They really do have a great mission and plan going forward and we are excited to help them spread the message and see where it goes! Also, please check out our suggestion (near the end of the video + in the blog post) to swap in a vegan cheese sauce for the kit so you can still make the recipe even if you can't get one of the kits! Thanks!!
They said with the price of the extras, it comes to about $3 a serving. They also said as they grow they would like to be able to get that price down to $1.50 a serving. Plus one pack feeds a family of 4 . You can bulk them up with extras. I added red lentils to coconut mushroom stew 😋👍
Yum! Both recipes look absolutely delicious :-) I hope these packets are sold internationally soon. On another note (no pun intended), what is the music playing while Jessica is stirring the celery/onion mixture in the blue pot? Thank you!
I laugh every time I see Jessica enjoying eating. That little humming and sideways back and forth movement, that's exactly what I do when I REALLY like something!
Another wonderful inspiring yummy video thankyou guys! and i know u dont drink but i swear you two were a bit giggly like tipsy in this one...or at least in the last five mins?? (mind u, ive been extremely overtired before and ended up so trippy and almost delirious that people swore i was drunk! & i dont drink either lol)
I hope Brian can recreate these packets without all the added sugar , chemicals and big price. i would like Brian's plant based ,twice baked recipe instead
I kind of agree. They may be vegan and plant based, but they are definitely not SOS free. This may be a rare and appropriate, but not daily fare if you're trying to lose weight. If they could figure out how to get the pricing down closer to what hamburger helper costs it would be a total win for those on the SAD.
What's wrong with your Vitamix? Should not be that noisy. I have a Vitamix, and it's not loud--just makes normal noise like all blenders do, but not even annoyingly so, not anywhere near needing ear muffs. Totally not necessary. Folks, don't let the Krocks scare you away from buying a Vitamix. You do not need to buy ear muffs to go along with it. Just part of the show, maybe?
As a musician and audio producer, my hearing is my most important sense. Our Vitamix has a sustained decibel level of up to 95dB. At that level it can damage your hearing if exposed to it for too long. For comparison, a jackhammer is around 90dB. I can guarantee that using ear protection is not for show. We love our blender and we absolutely encourage everyone to get a good high speed blender. We found a handy video that explains all the different noise levels of the Vitamix line for anyone who is curious. 😀 lifeisnoyoke.com/vitamix-noise-comparison/
I'm all for capitalism, but that's way overpriced for a packet of powder! I know a lot went into getting the recipe down and there's packaging, but....
@@mizfrog4776 Many of the meal starter packs contain more than "powder." They include pasta, rice, beans/lentils, and small diced veggies. Furthermore, based on the servings per pack, the average cost, including the cost of add-ins, is less than $3 per serving. These products are intended to make it easy for people to prepare healthy meals, and at an affordable price. Over time, as we scale production, these costs will come down even further, to an average of $2.50 or less per serving. We don't understand how this could be described as outrageous.
While these have sodium, they are relatively low for pre-pkg mixes. Average 225-480mg per pkg- not something you would eat everyday but great in a pinch!
Also keep in mind that the sodium counts do not include the fresh produce you’ll be adding (which contains very small amounts of sodium). Once you add the produce, etc... I find that the total sodium levels for the dishes are really reasonable!
Sodium content of these products is modest, especially when taking into account the totality of one's dietary consumption. To get a true sense of your sodium consumption, you must account for the add-ins (not included on the nutritional label), your breakfasts, fruit and veggie snacks, side salads, and side veggie dishes, all of which should be low in sodium. Dr. Campbell says sodium consumption must be understood in the whole context of what we eat in a day. It's possible to have a flavorful centerpiece to a lunch or dinner, while still keeping sodium consumption low over the course of a day. You also can throw in more veggie add-ins to your meal starters if you want to further dilute/reduce your already low salt consumption. To see your sodium consumption using our meal starters, but taking into account all you are eating in a day, see the sample menu plan at the bottom of this page: www.plantpurenation.com/pages/frozen-entrees-ingredient-and-nutrition-information
We do try to limit our sodium intake when possible. In products like this, we usually look to limit it to a 1-to-1 ratio of calories to sodium. For the Potato Soup, there are 6 servings at 330mg of sodium and 100 calories per serving, but keep in mind the nutritional info on the back of the packages do not include the added produce. Once you add the produce, I estimate that it's closer to 350mg of sodium and 300 calories per serving, which is really close to that 1-to-1 ratio.
