Quickly jumped on this one after my recent Voiceplay reaction! LOVED IT! Quite clearly becomming a Geoff fan!
I've loved this song since I was a kid, and Geoff absolutely crushes it! I love his work with VoicePlay, but I love his solo work even more.
Have you ever done any reactions to Dan Vasc? If not, you really should! He's absolutely amazing! He does a wide range of covers, as well as original music with his band Fearless and the bands OD and Orion's Reign. Give him a listen!
Of course vocalfrying is kn own, but Geoff has a low voice but an amazing range. Sometimes he uses frying, but most of the time he goes sub.
Welcome aboard! This is such a fun ride!
Jennifer I've been grooving to this song at Halloween since 1962 when Bobby Pickett and the Crypt Kickers introduced us to this upbeat fun song ! This is the absolute best cover and it was so original and fabulously fun ! Geoff did a fantastic job and I have recorded this version for our Halloween bash ! It's a visual and musical performance for the ages ! So so good and fun!!!!! Thank you again for your analysis and comments ! I can see you loved it immensely ! Geoff can rattle off bass notes that can rattle and shake any room you're in ! Fabulous !! Enjoyed it so much ! Keep posting sweetheart you're the best !! 👍🤗🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️❤️❤️❤️
When you have a chance, check out Geoff's version of "The Headless Horseman" ua-cam.com/video/8rrg0ksSQdw/v-deo.html
He's such a genius arranger. Geoff: "Did you pick up on the "la la la" section? It's Bach's toccata and fugue in d minor, just shuffled and swung".: There's also a hint at the end, of Fur Elise. I first saw the patrons only version of a static wide shot showing all the dancing, and laughed all the way through. :)
LOVE THIS!! And yes, definitely joining ahaha 😁
Now that Haloween is coming you should do his cover of Headless Horsemen, and VoicePlay's This is Halloween, Hoist the Colours and Kidnap the Sandy Claws
I don't really think of Hoist the Colours as a Halloween song? What's This might be more in the theme.
@@DocEonChannel It's not strictly on theme, but VoicePlay has it on their Halloween playlist. Guess it's because of the creepy theatrics?
I love this so much I haven’t stopped laughing since it dropped. I already loved Geoff’s singing but dancing Geoff is now my absolute joy too. Btw Geoff can’t sing without moving his hands he said that himself!
Hahaha love it!!!
Very similar to Tim Foust of Home Free. He always has a hand moving too. Maybe its a bass thing?🤔
So many Easter eggs hidden in this performance. Did you spot the Geoff on the end (Wolfman Geoff?) Flossing at the end? Also the lady he danced out with is his wife Kathy who did costume and makeup.
I think the hand motions he does when doing low notes help him like prepare himself for them and sort of are part of his muscle memory for them. At least that's what it feels like.
Looking and sounding so lovely Jennifer! Geoff and his buddies in VoicePlay all take such pride and joy in the creative process and they put great efforts into making the most entertaining videos. Not to detract from Geoff's musical skill, but he's been singing professionally for more than 20 years. Now he's gone the extra distance from just standing in front of a mic to making every performance visually and emotionally satisfying! Love your analysis and eagerly awaiting your next release! Be well!
Enjoyed it very much!! Thank you 😊
Again, beautiful reaction. The "monsters" were having so much fun, almost as much fun as I had watching this video. I love Geoff Castellucci!
Thank you!
I highly recommend you check out Geoff's "The Headless Horseman." Very appropriate for Halloween.
try his headless horseman as well and all his stuff and voiceplays covers are awesome
If you keep putting up reactions to PTX, Home Free and Voiceplay, plus the solo channels of their current and former members, you'll pick up a lot of new subscribers and you'll never be out of a job. Thank you.
Voiceplay did several songs from Nightmare Before Christmas. They also did Little Mermaid Medley (where you can hear Geoff (as Ursula) slide about 4 octaves on one note) and You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.
Of their just plain singing performances (no makeup or costumes), Tennessee Whiskey would be a good choice to hear various members do runs.
Geoff started singing as a solo multitracker last year, probably because the group lost Earl Elkins and because of COVID. They've since lost JNone also. They're still in transition, So the recent Voiceplay vids have a lot of guest artists.
All of Geoff's "solo" vids so far, except Melekalikimaha, are multitracked with 4 or sometimes 5 Geoffs. He also has vids where he reads Edgar Allan Poe.
For sure!!! Thank you for all of this 😊
Love the humor in "Oh good you're awake" !!!!
Geoff is amazing! Not to many people can harmonize with themselves and sound good. Might I suggest watching Sixteen Tons and House of the Rising Sun by Geoff Castellucci. An absolute eargasm, both of them.
You should check out the rest of Geoff's solo videos, especially Sixteen Tons, Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold, and the Headless Horseman. Sixteen Tons, really, shows off his vocal range, Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold shows the smoothness of his voice, and the Headless Horseman is, just, plain fun.
who was that very smart viewed who saw that the chorus boys are taking poses classic to the monsters Frankstein, wolfman, Dracula and mummy? that was excellent.
We love Geoff's rumbling notes, but may I add also Jennifer's squeaky noises too. Sooo funny! :D
Love to be sub here.
😂😂 hahaha i’m honoured! Thank you!
Another fine performance by Geoff & the Geofftones.
If u notice carefully, you'll see Geoff's wife, Kathy, twitch when he hits those lovely lows😉 P.S. She did all the makeup too (she does loads more but it'll be TL:DR on here😄)
I'm very late to the comment party, but 🤷🏻♀️.
I have a tendency to be picky about watching reactors, since a majority just sit there, slack jawed, until the video is through. Then it's 'thanks for watching!' So, thank you for the analysis, I appreciate it.
I believe another commenter (or two) mentioned that Geoff is very good at putting the pertinent information about his video's in the description, so you *can* always check there. Generally, he and Kathy do pretty much everything for his videos (except for the audio mixing and occasionally some other roles).
I will mention though, with this one, his choreographer, is not only an old friend, he was also a member of VoicePlay back in the beginning days, when they were called 4:2:Five. I don't think many people realized that. 🙂
The woman that screams s Geoffs wfe
this is fun! love this song and congrats for being one of the only reactors to not jump when the lady (who is Geoff's wife Kathy, fun fact) did her scream.
Geoff showcases his extreme 5 octave range in Blackbird and High and Dry. VoicePlay songs for the WOW factor are Hoist the Colours and the Halo theme, but showing their flexibility I'd watch Carry On My Wayward Son, Go The Distance, and True Colors.
I’d add Tennessee Whisky as a WOW too for the lovely runs. Just my 2c…
You really must hear his cover of the Beatle's song Blackbird. Talk about vocal range.
Gotta see his house of the rising sun and misty mountain by Geoff
Gotcha! 😊
Was going to ask you to check them out
@@JenniferGlatzhofer by the way, anyone ever tell you that you look like a young Elizabeth Hurley?
Geoff has a few videos of him reading poems on his channel, I especially like when he reads ''The raven'' you should definitely listen to that!
It is probably not worth an entire video but it could be an idea to mention it before another Geoff reaction or something. Enjoy
Voice play has one you will love hoist the colors. And my mother told me a Viking hymn hoist is the newest but you can't go wrong with that much talent
Others have pointed out that the monsters are Dracula, Wolfman (complete with fleas) and Frankenstein's Monster.
I really enjoy the commentary and always learn a little more that makes rewatching even more enjoyable.
I don’t like most Voiceplay or Geoff reactions because they DON’T pause, so you saying you pause got me in straight away, Geoff and VP take Halloween very seriously in a FUN way and I enjoyed this song and your reaction to it
Oh this makes me happy ahah! Thank you for appreciating 😊 and I can definitely see that ahah!!
Pun not intended, but I LOVE the deadpan delivery by "narrator" Geoff 😁👻💀🎉 juxtaposed to the more "lively" ghoul chorus 😅
The 'background singers', their choreography wasa tribute to the Universal Studios 'Classic Monsters' of the past....the first moveis Frankenstein's monstr, the second is the Wolfman's the third is Dracula and his cape, the fourth is the classic Mummy....funny, the first and last had Boris Karloff, as the titular characters....>^^
Geoff/Voiceplay always properly gives credits in their videos. So if you ever wonder who did the choreography or makeup or anything it'll be in the description.
Amazing, thank you!! 😊
After watching Geoff for years, and picking our jaws off the floor after each low note, it's nice to see Kathy pick her jaw up off the floor. Just when you think he has sung as low as humanly possible, he hits an even lower note.
Just incredible!
@@JenniferGlatzhofer If you think that was incredible, then you need to listen to his version of The Headless Horseman. At the end of it, is a note so low, you can feel the earth shake.
@@scottboa2738 Geoff hits notes most singers can, only, dream of.
It's always fun seeing a reaction video where the person doesn't know him... And he hits the first low note and they're all impressed. And we are all sitting waiting for the last note.
pay close attention to the dancer geoffs when his wife wakes up, they start dancing very funny. The zombie is actually flossing!
All of Jeff's solo covers on his UA-cam channel are amazing
Great fun hey? Not sure if you knew that the lady in the cameo who dances with Geoff is his wife Kathy. His solo stuff is all great.. 16 Tons, The House of The Rising Sun.. So much great stuff.
Yes, found that out later though 😊 thank you!
GO listen to his reading of the RAVEN. his speaking voice is very low
Heard this song this morning and I couldn't stop smiling the whole day 😁.
Love it!
I think you should call the bv's Geoffsters. So it's Geoff and the Geoffsters
You should check out Voiceplay's This is halloween, Kidnap the Sandy Claws, Little Mermaid Medley, and Moana Medley, honestly anything by Voiceplay is good
First time hearing your reaction and thoroughly enjoyed it. You struck a great balance with information and the performance. It was very helpful for me thank you. Happy new subscriber!
Ah thanks so much!
I think you would like to react to VoicePlay's This is halloween song
You should listen to Tim Foust talk or anything from home free he has almost a 6 octave range
If you were " having too much fun " then I was having too much fun reacting to your reaction. You always bring a burst of joy into my day! If you liked this one you should listen to Jeff's " The Headless Horseman". It is October after all. Blessings!
Thank you!! I might just have to ahah!
Did anyone noticed that the lady in the sofa is twitching each time Geoff hits a low note? I saw her do it two times: at 5:46 and 7:26. Did I miss any time?
as far as what to call the Geoffs... the "Geofftourage". Youre welcome
Would love to hear you React to another Bass. Tomi. P's Hellfire, I saw your Cover recently and would love to hear your Thoughts.
This was great fun! Geoff, along with Tim Faust from Home Free, are my favorite bass singers at the moment. Such incredible talent. Voiceplay recently released a cover of the theme for the game Halo. It's completely different from what they typically do and features a former member, Scott Porter, who was a member back before they renamed themselves to Voiceplay from 42five (pronounced four-two-five. If Scott looks familiar he became an actor following leaving 42Five, and has played an investigator in the show "The Good Wife" as well as many other roles in other TV shows). Loved your reaction/analysis Jen. Always look forward to your video posts. As I've commented before, those days when you post a new video and I can start my day viewing it always make for a great day. And today was no exception. Looking forward to the next one.
I loved this when it was new in the '60s. Made it so much more fun. Geoff busting a move. Props to his choreographer. His wife Kathy was a great screaming, dead woman. The Foley sound effects made you cringe.
So good!
The four steps are from the original universal monster film poster poses.
Frankenstein holding out both arms, the wolf man with hands by sides howling up at the moon in half profile, Dracula hiding behind his cape hanging from his arm and finally the mummy with his arms bandaged to his chest. Cooooool. Steve
Please comment on FORESTELLA - BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY Live performance from Immortal songs season 2. I would love to hear see your reactions^^
Oh brilliant, thanks!
Do (clap) more (clap) Voiceplay (clap) and (clap) Geoff
Ready for something different? Want some viewers from Pakistan and India?
Then PLEASE react to Bol Hu by Soch the band on Nescafe Basement!
Thanks for the suggestion!
If you didn't know the woman is Kathy his wife.
Really great reaction!! Geoff is so good at this. The "dead girl" at the end is his wife, Kathy.
Coach next cover CAKRA KHAN - Anyone (DEMI LOVATO)
We love you always Coach ❤️😊
Thanks for the suggestion! 😊
Loved your reaction Jennifer! To check out another Halloween themed Geoff video, check out his "The Headless Horseman." If I'm not mistaken your voice placement is mezzo-soprano/alto range. Check out Geoff's video on how to sing low. Some of those techniques I think will help you sing an octave higher as Geoff's low notes!
Thank you!! My voice has deepened a lot, used to be soprano but I’d say i’m mezzo-soprano now 😊 have watched a few!
I love the discordant Für Elise at the end.
The monster movements are great. I feel like he shot it slow-mo and then sped it up to get that puppet/jerky quality.
If you were to read the comment attached to the video, there was a good one observation of the video. Kathy twitched when Geoff hits the deep tone three times. Frankenstein Geoff did the floss dance, Wolfman Geoff did Hips don’t lie dance and the vampire Geoff’s eyes are white. The choreography was entertaining to watch!
Ahaha yes! I did go back to notice all this 😍
Hoist the colours... please, please, please..
Since it's Halloween month, try checking out his version of "Headless Horseman" as well. More of Geoff's story telling mastery.
Great reaction. You REALLY need to check Geoff out in 16 tons.
Another bass to see is Tomi P. His he’ll fire cover is amazing.
Another one to check out is Macelito Pomoy and his cover of the prayer on the wish bus. It will blow your mind.
If you really want to see character and/or choreography from Voice Play, I have to suggest Queen in 5 minutes (amazing characters) and the boy band medley (just so very very fun)
This I’ve got to see!
A fun observation about the choreography that someone made, is that the 4 dance moves correspond to 4 traditional monsters: Arms out, Frankenstein's monster; arms back, claws up, Wolfman; arm in front of face as if holding a cape, Dracula; arms hugging sides, the Mummy. And then as it progresses, those basic moves get more and more elaborate. Also, I believe he originally shot those around 70% speed while dancing, then when the speed was increased to full, that's what gives them that jerky look. The 3 dancers would be Dracula, Wolfman and Frankenstein's monster. And the piano notes at the end while Wolfman's scratching, I personally like to think he's scratching his 'für elise'.... (sorry!) :)
Ah I love all of this!! And yes, the movements becoming more elaborate, so good!!
Fun to see him dance with his wife too.
Loved your reaction and commentary! You aren't the first to have that giggling school girl reaction to Geoff!
His wife was in this for the dance.
Wonderful reaction!! This video is all him and the woman is Geoff’s wife Kathy!!👍🏻
brillant comentaries
I love the back-up Geoffs are doing a Monster Mash-up, and they get more complex every verse. first move = Frankenstein second move=wolfman third move=Dracula, fourth move= the mummy
I loved your insights! I agree with Mia Pendragon. Check out Headless Horsemen, and Voiceplay's Hoist the Colours and Kidnap the Sandy Claws!
Jenn Geoff also has a video on you tube of him doing the bare nessities
😱😱 oh wow!
You started with "I'm scared". Funny fact...this was the 2nd version he recorded - he felt the first one came out as more a horror movie!
Geoff is great!! CAN YOU PLEASE do Tim Foust the lion sleeps tonight!!!!
I saw this in the comments on the original video, but when Geoff hits the low notes, you can see Kathy twitch. Even she is not immune to the effect of those low notes. XD
Considering VP as a whole will sing along while recording the videos, even if they don't use the audio from the video, as it helps make sure you get the right shapes Geoff probably is here too. So I can only imagine she is hearing those notes live as they record and anyone would be affected by that.
Edit: Spelling (Gotta love Dyslexia...)
If you want to hear something special, ten (10) year old Angelina Jordan sings "I'm Still Holding Out For You". This song will move you, you will like it, Your welcome in advance. The link is:

This song will blow your mind. It was a demo she recorded at 10 years old about a week before her 11th birthday. I promise you will want to hear it sooner rather than later, you will thank me for it. Even if you do not end up doing a reaction please listen to it. But I think you will want to do a reaction after hearing the first line, and the last minute of the song you will find it hard not to replay right after you hear it the first time. Even if you do not react let me know what you think. She sings to your soul.

now put Geoff, Avi , Tim Foust all together on this song and hear every speaker in the country go POP at once from the BASS rumble.
My only complaint about this video is that the music, just barely, washes out Jeff's voice. I think the video would be enhanced by toning down the music and raising up the vocals.
Everyone else can comment on the music and Geoff. Ill say you look lovely and have beautiful eyes. :) Digging the accent.
When you feel up to it, perhaps react to his cover of Tennessee Ernie Ford's "Sixteen Tons", please
That was Geoff's wife, also he worked at Disney land as a dancing Frankenstein .
Bobby Pickett accomplished the rare feat of reaching the top 100 music chart three times with the same song. On October 20, 1962, the original release hit #1 in the US. The song re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 on August 29, 1970 peaking at #91, and then again on May 5, 1972 when it went all the way to #10.
Geoff proven many times he is very talented I rec headless horseman awsome Oct song love your reaction
Enjoyed watching your reaction to this song. If I'm not mistaken it was his wife that did the choreography, she was at the end of the video.
to hear his normal speaking voice you can listen to over an hour of Geoff doing an interview
ua-cam.com/video/ypToJeKoEbI/v-deo.html
Deep reaction that early in. Waiting for the "Dracula and his son".
Since you're on a bit of a low voice binge, how about catching up with a current Diana Ankudinova performance? They're being uploaded to her channel with subtitles. Her subharmonics have gotten even better. She can belt with them now.
Can't Help Falling In Love (Elvis Presley) - ua-cam.com/video/M-znD6QKbrg/v-deo.html
Thank you! 😊
To truly appreciate the genius that is this arrangement, I feel like you also have to listen to the original song after listening to Geoff's cover. He took a song made in the 60's and enhanced the sound making it sound fuller than it originally was, adding parts that weren't in the original like Kathy's (his wife) creepy laugh and scream at the start and end respectively, and he made it his own song while still paying homage to the original. Lovely reaction. Try reacting to Voiceplay's Nightmare Before Christmas cover songs.
Definitely!!! Love his arrangement!!😊
Now that you are enjoying both Geoff and Voiceplay, there are a few ones to react to: Voiceplay: my mother told me, Bang, if I were a rich girl, Queen medley, you're a mean one Mr Grinch, Hoist the Colours, this is halloween. And one with home free - Survivor: Zombies vs Hillbillies
Geoff: far over the misty mountains, take me home country roads, Blackbird, sixteen tons, the Bear Necessities (jungle book), the headless horseman
Looking forward to all of these!
He did it all in this and most of his solos. His wife helps too sometimes. The woman in this video is his wife.
Jennifer: You are the first one of the Pro reactors to mention the headphone change with Dracula...since I am single-sided hearing (deaf in one ear), I miss some of the cool stuff the groups do in Post. To me the sound just faded away...I figured it was an effect but you are the only one to mention it! Great job as always.
Ah thank you! Happy to have mentioned it then 😊
If you love this one you should check out Geoff's cover of "16 Tons"
Did you catch Beethoven's Für Elise at the end?
..
Do you know the original version of this song? Great 70's disco hit!
YES! Another convert! Thank ye kindly fer doin more Geoff. Keep em comin, Miss Jennifer. Hope you and yorn have a goodun.✝️🤠
I will definitely keep on watching more!! 😊
Headless Horsemen makes you question if Geoff is human yoh should def react it
One thing about both Geoff’s videos and VoicePlay’s videos is that they add subtle, usually, humorous bits in their videos . We need to watch several times to catch everything. I’m a new subscriber and fan of yours. I look forward to your next reaction and analysis. Enjoy your day.
😷😎✌🏻🤟🏻🖖🏻🤙🏻
Ah thank you!!
I admit I didn't really care for this "kid's song" until I saw Geoff's video. So much fun.
I've seen a few of his covers, but I think this is the first time his wife, Kathy, was in the video.
So great!! 😊
Oftentimes she is the one behind the camera, it was great to see her joining in!
Kathy has popped up in Voiceplay videos Boy Band Medley & Daddy Sang Bass are the ones I can remember
@@carolfranklin I saw their Halo Theme cover, My Mother Told Me and... I think that's it. For Geoff himself, I've seen Take Me Home Country Roads, Sixteen Tons, Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold and, of course, his reading of The Raven.
I know there's a lot more.😅
@@carolfranklin Right I remember it was so touching to see everybody's families come in to the Daddy Sang Baas video!
That was awesome Jenny from the block :-) use to pause a little now you pause a lot. we love you muchly👍👍🔥🔥🔥👈 hug’s...
Hahahah THIS IS BRILLIANT! 😂 you’ve been here for quite some time so you would know 😂 thank you!
Hi! Thanks for your analysis... with Voiceplay you cant go wrong in any way, all the options are good. I recommend "Bang!", "Kiss", "Tennesse Whiskey", "Carry On Wayward Son"... and so many more! 😅. In a more Halloween note, they have "Whats this?", "This is Halloween", "Kidnap the sandy claws", "Superstition"... and they will soon release a new spooky Disney song!
Can’t wait!! 😊
