Before seeing this I saw the wide shot version showing all the danceing, just for patrons, and couldn't stop laughing from start to end . He's outdone himself once again. Nice reaction.
That's his wife, by the way. She did the makeup, because the footage from the first time they filmed with a professional character makeup artist wasn't usable.
Great reaction! I heard this for the first time, by Geoff, yesterday. Best version ever of this song! Geoff is great! I love his work with VoicePlay, but I love his solo work even better.
I'm pretty sure when Geoff pieced all this together in editing that the "dancers" were put in at a different time rate. It gives the appearance of pop lock. I just can't stop watching the middle Geoff though. It's hilarious!
Definitely, you can see it in the movement of the hair. Absolutely amazing effect though, adds that perfect 'unnatural' element to the dancing that is so good with the vibe of the song.
@@AbuMaia01 Actually, is was recorded at about 1.5 speed, so he moved slowly to get that jerky motion. Keeping that so synchronized must have been real work.
I love that his own wife is startled by his low notes. You can see her twitch/jerk a bit when he goes low. You'd think she, of all people, would be used to it by now. Nope. Great reaction, as always!
I would argue the exact opposite and Kathy is more susceptible to the effects of Geoff's low notes. She knows that's her husband and they will be going home together.
Props to his Choreographer. Geoff was busting all the moves. Kathy was wonderful as the dead girl. #1 Geoff is Dracula #2 Geoff is the Wolfman and #3 Geoff I think is supposed to be the Monster and yes he was flossing at the end. This is so much fun. Geoff did some cool dance moves in VoicePlays "Still Alive-Portal" I used to love lessening to Vincent Price read Edger Allen Poe.
I will never, ever get over the faces you make when Geoff hits his low notes. If I'm having a bad day, all I have to do is watch you do a reaction to a song like this and it just makes me happy!
I saw the video and my first thought was Dave would be over the moon to see this based on his reaction to Misty Mountain Cold and then this video popped up 🙂 awesome job as always and its good to see you recovered from Covid
I don't think I've ever seen you enjoy a video and song this much before! And that's saying something! Just your smile and how involved you were. Absolutely wonderful reaction! You've got the same time as Geoff there, but not as low 😁 Thanks! 🥰🙏
Kathy (his wife & who also had to redo his make-up due schedule issues with who had done it first & they had to do retakes & the original make-up artist had to leave) twitches a couple of times when Geoff hits the subharmonic notes (watch her hand & legs when the camera is on the Frankenstein version of Geoff alone). Not really noticeable until you go back & watch it a few times. Once again Geoff knocks it outta the park & into the neighboring county! I have the same kind of mirrored contacts the Dracula Geoff is wearing that I shall be wearing for Halloween. SOOO super excited to wear them!
When I first saw this I wondered if that note might get a new level of stank face from you, I was not wrong. I am regularly impressed with the attention to detail in his videos, normally I am pretty hard to impress, but he just keeps doing it. Also, his low note got a double take from my dog, he ran over and looked at my phone like WTF was _that?_
Soooo... funny story. Apparently, his patrons had voted on this as one of his songs to cover... and being unaware of that, after seeing a live performance of the song and being blown away by the singer's facial expressions, I'd actually sent him a message on his site suggesting this song about a week or two before he did this video. One heck of a coincidence, isn't it? XD
The pop-locking was most likely done by him dancing to a slowed down version and then speeding it up. It's an effect that they used on Grim Grinning Ghosts (voiceplay) so it wouldn't be surprising if he used the effect again after seeing how it was so effective in giving such quick movement.
Yay! So happy to see this, I love all your reaction videos especially the ones with Geoff in them. after watching his video (which was amazing) I was hoping you would do a reaction to it. The phase butter vocals fits perfectly with Geoff and I'm glad I'm not the only one trying to dance along to his choreography. I couldn't stop laughing at the whole "today we are out here trying to go on the mystery hunt of the bass note" he didn't seem to have a lot of sub-harmonics, I think I counted three or four but the ones he did do were outstanding.
hey man as mesmerized as we all are by geoff, im pretty sure you yourself are a bass as well! i can hear how deep your range is. I also am a bass. Geoff has plenty of bass singing techniques and guides on his channel if u are ever interested in learning vocals yourself!
Exactly what I was going to recommend! It's not too long, but is a great rendition. He has some shorter poem readings and some other short stories that are worth a hear too. He also did the original text of Hans Christian Anderson's " The Little Mermaid", but that one is over an hour long, so doesn't lend itself to your format. Maybe as a summary highlight reel type of thing, but not the full length. Still all good to listen to in the car or as a bedtime wind down due to his soothing voice.
In the final panel of suggestions from UA-cam, the third one on the second row has Geoff explaining the techniques he uses to sing super-low. Check it out; you have a kind of voice that could use them.
The dancers are Dracula, Wolfman (complete with fleas) and the Frankenstein Monster. Another, much cleverer, viewer described them as Dr. Geoff, VladGeoff, WolfGeoff and FrankenGeoff. Since I read comments, I also learned that the dance moves emulate Frankenstein strangling, Wolfman slashing and Dracula swinging his cape. I decided that the hug is Dracula wrapping himself up in his bat wings. Also the opening la la la portion has a bit of Toccata and Fugue and the last bit is the last, if discordant, notes of Fur Elise. On his Patreon page he introduces the song with apologies to Bach and Beethoven.

Geoff's wife was there the whole time. From what I understand she helped with the choreography. Truly enjoyed watching your reaction.
He can sing, he can dance, and he can multiply himself. Is there anything this man can’t do!? 😂
Nope :P Geoff is God tier lol.
He can't hit a D8.😉
Fail. He can't fail 😁

This is a great cover, isn't it?! The dancing is my favourite. AND we get an appearance from Kathy Castellucci :D. Great reaction!

Geoffs D1 subharmonic was crazy impressive

Well, if you want some videos of him just talking in bass he has recorded himself reading a few books, poems, and the like.
when geoff did that super low note he was using a technique called subharmonics
