The Desert Train:
The train of Mauritania, also known as the desert snake, crosses the vast Sahara Desert, transporting iron ore from the mines of Zouérat to the port of Nouadhibou, in a journey that takes about 20 hours.
Characteristics:
Length: The train can reach up to 2.5 kilometers, making it one of the longest trains in the world.
Weight: It carries tons of iron ore, with the trains often consisting of more than 200 wagons.
Speed: The average speed of the train is about 50 kilometers per hour.

For many, traveling on this train is a unique adventure. Since there are no passenger carriages, daring travelers often sit on top of the wagons loaded with iron ore. The journey is harsh and demanding, with extreme temperatures and constant sand.
