I have ordered one before watching your demo, and was banging my head against the wall... it does not seem to be an exact clone of the ts10 - the ts10 has more beef to it, and that is why I wanted one ... maybe with the bass boost on the FrogPedal version will be closer ...; but ... I have watched other videos, and a guy was really nailing Gravity with the soft clipping on, and another was really nailing the WDYTIW album tone... interesting because John Mayer used to use a BB1 pedal on Gravity and the Keeley Boss BD on WDYTIW (video and album versions). I might use the pedal for those songs - it seems to be very versatile, so at least I didn't throw $200 in the bin ...
Hi Kru, loved this demo and subbed. I'm glad you posted the live audio. It seemed like the TS10 was much more prevalent in the mix. Was that just the settings or mic placement? I wonder if you can comment on your experience with the VS10 in the live mix and if it's actually more comparable than the audio. Or if maybe some of the settings on the VS10 could be tweaked to get it closer. Loving the sounds of this pedal! And could you comment also if it compares to the 808 as it seems like they're all very similar. Thanks!
Did you sell your two rock exo? I love your playing first and your HX stomp sound but I think there's still something unique in two rock amp that amp modelers can't emulate. When I hear your two rock sound, it sounds like John Mayer, but in this setting, I guess 'something's missing'. I hope to listen to your opinion. Thanks.

I liked the video. You can improve by doing some things: 1. Describe ALL the gear you used at the description; 2. In the comparison part, before you record, plan at least 3 licks and play exacly the same. Best if you can pre-play on a loop pedal and go switching. But that's totally personal preference; 3- Very nice that you did a live comparison! It is very rare to happen on UA-cam: 4- Answer your own question! What pedal do you prefer? Good work!

Not as much as you'd think! I originally did this test through a true bypass looper switcher, and the difference was negligible. And based on my extensive experience with that particular TS10, it sounds exactly as it would otherwise. Also, that's why I added in some live clips at the end, only one TS per chain there :)
I've built one of the through hole PCB versions of the Tone Geek Valve Screamer. Once I finished it, it has literally never left my pedal board.
Awesome demo! VS10 is killer, might need to pick one of those up. I currrently have the Clarksdale which is pretty great, but this has some cool mojo.

I wish that they just went head-on and did an old-school enclosure rather than just the graphic!
