nice video as usual. next time, it would be nice if they do a vid about the Samurai Edge of Wesker , or another different gun, like the assault shotgun (Benelli M3) seen in RE1 Remake and RE4, the M79 grenade launcher which become one of Capcom fetichist gun, since they still make it appear in many games until RE8 , in a pretty engraved version, the Magnum revolver (Taurus Raging Bull) of RE0 used by Billy Cohen to kill James Marcus, or the 93 Raffica of Claire in RE Code Veronica (Capcom have also a fetichism with Beretta pistols) i hope i have the good ideas
i never liked the guns redesig in RE1 Remake (that was the case also in RE3), i wondered why the Mikami team bothered to make over-the-top designs for the guns instead of directly modelling these from real photos like in the Original PS1 game, it seems to me this has never been forbidden, but i recognize that the Beretta 92F in its Samurai Edge appearance is just plain cool. i always liked how it looks. Capcom never butchered the design of that famous italian pistol (already a nice looking pistol IMO) , and they gave it a beautiful aesthetic , designed with passion. the Beretta italian guys would be glad to see it i think. the one who got the idea of that Beretta design was a genius in any case.
The way I view the inconsistencies of RE game's lore/ characters/ props is kind of how I view the Legend of Zelda series. Yes, there are different tellings of the same story, but that reminds me of witnesses of a crime each giving their own version of events that transpired. It kind of becomes an urban legend with little details changing here and there. In any case,, they are all fun games. Excellent videos, by the way!
Except Zelda isn't really like that though, lol. At least not the 3D ones. Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword literally can't exist unless there's some sort of timeline where there's a sequence of events that games take place in, specifically where it happens before or after Ocarina of Time. There are so many heavy handed ties like the Hero's Shade and the sages, architecture, the fact Wind Waker wouldn't have happened unless Ocarina of Time happened before it (since that's where Link is first given the Triforce of Courage and where Ganondorf has a human form, without Ocarina of Time explaining that, Ganon should always be a pig)
One of the first times I ever played Resident Evil 2 on N64 as a kid, it just happened to be September 29th, and the whiteboard in the room where Leon's party was supposed to happen says "It's September 29th" and we all freaked out
Jill having two Samurai Edges in Umbrella Chronicles can be explained away as the surviving STARS taking the weapons off the bodies of the dead ones. They won't need them anymore.

Kendo I really wish that there was a never ending list of weapons for you to make these amazing videos for. One of the best channels I've ever seen. Love it so much.
Dino Crisis, Parasite Eve 2, and the Metal Gear series would be great games to cover once all the RE stuff has been done. There are tons of guns in the RE games though, so there's plenty of content left to put out.
Honestly that's what I really loved about old RE3 vs new. The mechanics of the gun powder kinda capture Jill's expertise as well as Kendo's. Jill can create enhanced ammunition, but only the Samurai Edge is rugged enough to fire the rounds, as opposed to the STI Eagle, a fair competition handgun with speed and accuracy for critical damage (well aimed shots with that scope) but still using normal ammunition. A mild amount of strategy in the game design, but well appreciated.
I might have said this before, but I'll continue to say it: I will NEVER get tired of watching Samurai Edge fact videos! The Edge has to be of the most ICONIC firearms in video game pop culture, and for that reason, has my respect! I own 3 Beretta 92 Brigadiers thanks to Resident Evil: A 96 Brigadier with ALL the Barry Burton goodness and attachments, a Wilson Combat 92 Brig Tac with a pair of Jill Valentine CDW grips, and my personal favorite, my own custom two tone 92G-SD Samurai Edge, codenamed "Silver Edge" with a TLR-02 HL light/laser combo! Keep up the good work and give us more info about the weapons of Resident Evil!
Nice collection you got there! I built a variant of the Barry Burton V1 Samurai Edge as well, but went with an all black look to mine choosing Black Medallions and a Black Barrel. Next will be a V2 build, can’t wait, respect!
The Samurai Edge will always be my favorite weapon in Resident Evil, it made S.T.A.R.S who they are and how they deal with zombies and Bioweapons, thank you KendoGunShop for continuing the Samurai Edge ✊
When I saw Jill's new Glock in RE3:R, I was pretty disappointed; its a pick that makes sense to people who don't really care about guns. The logic behind the switch was probably, "Jill can't have her 93 right at the start- we need to make that an unlock or sell it to the player in DLC, so lets give her a gun like regular cops probably use." But they didn't think that, while Jill isn't exactly a gun-nut, she's someone around firearms all the time who probably has some degree of interest. A much more creative pick would've been a Beretta 8000 in 9mm, which was a conceal carry pistol introduced in 1994, four years before the Raccoon City incident. Jill would've maintained her Beretta connection, and she'd have a less capable version of her Samurai Edge owed to the reduced barrel length. Instead, she appears to be modled on a late 2010s guntuber, down to her period-incorrect jeans and crop-top. It was such a boring, disappointing choice. Also: "Having received countless accolades the world over, Joseph Kendo, world's greatest gunsmith, finally retired to his beachside mansion with Rebecca, Sheva, Jill, Claire, and Ada, who were so impressed with his knowledge on firearms that they all agreed to marry him at the same wedding ceremony." - Joseph Kendo
sorry guys but i already get weary of the Samurai Edge. Please do another RE weapon in the next video, and then make one about a Beretta Samurai Edge model another day, it's like an overdose at this state
I once heard about a .38 Superauto cartridge called "Death Talon," also used by LEOs, but I can't find a record they ever existed online. My grandfather had an old nickle plated S&W revolver with walnut grips and an old brown box full of ammo he called "Death Talons." Might just be an old man misremembering. This would've been in use well before 1991.
There’s really nothing special about Black Talons, they’re still made they’re just not black in appearance nor marketed as Black Talon. Federal still makes them as the HST line.
I would absolutely love to see a video about Leon's signature firearm from Resident Evil 4. It's kind of a Frankenstein of multiple firearms. But would love a detailed explanation of it, as it's only seen twice in the lore. That being Resident Evil 4, and then Degeneration.
The moment I didn't start REmake 3 with a Samurai Edge, and instead replaced it with a boring-looking Glock 19, was probably a sign of things to come for the rest of the game. Of all the guns Capcom could have used, they decided to use the Block, the most boring-looking gun of the 21st century.
I think because Capcom didn't have a plan. Re5 was meant to end resident evil as a whole. So with Capcom without a plan said fuck it lets just milk the series they started putting out random shit and all though these games have been fine to great and there is only 2 great games being rev2 and re7. The story felt very disconnected from each other and often are like lazy fanfics. It also doesn't help that most of the original resident evil team that worked on the games left after 4 and 5 so resident evil is ina very wired position with remakes and overall the series feels abit random, My idea is definitely re4 and 5ish for re9 through 11, as my idea involves weskers and a potential revival of albert and of course Alex being the main villain of the this trilogy
I like this, but I am waiting for Chris’s model, then Barry’s and finally Wesker’s. But first, well start here! Anyway… LETS GOO ANOTHER SAMURAI EDGE VIDEO! WOOHOO!!
Chris's model according to the lore had a sight enhancement in order to compliment the Air-Force Pilot turned RPD Officer's seemingly superhuman marksmanship mastery.
@@giannilyanicks1718 True, but nonetheless, I still find Chris's model kind of interesting, but it isn't my favourite Samurai Edge model. My favourite model is Wesker's cuz not only is is the most badass Samurai Edge, it's also the only Samurai Edge that made it past 1998.
The original re3 game will always be canon to me I didn't like the remakes very much cause all they did was up the graphics and did over the shoulder gameplay with no real new longer better story. I want the older jill valentine to make great return after re5 with her samurai edge showing us what tough warrior babe she is.
it's unlikely her Samurai Edge would along appears with her since she lost it at the begin of RE3R ; maybe you prefer to think this isn't canon but it still probably is for Capcom. in the original RE3 Jill has probably left her SE in a item box to get more powerful weaponry with her in order to defeat the Nemesis before leaving Raccoon and in both cases the gun was likely destroyed when the US Army send a nuke on the city. although i am agree to see Jill soon in the series , i start to miss her deeply
@@giannilyanicks1718 well who's to say she can't get a new one from weapons expert Barry Burton with her specific modifications. There's no reason Barry couldn't learn to remake the samurai edge in all the year after raccoon city destruction.
@@giannilyanicks1718 I'm simply stating possibilities of what I would like to see happen based on the RE lore. It all depends on what the writers decide to come with for the next new game or movie.
As a resident evil megafan and owner of every title as well as a firearm enthusiast and collector I must say, I really appreciate your videos and smooth buttery voice. Thank you man and please keep on making more videos.
honestly, the one thing that amazes me here is that Capcom decided to put so much attention to the lore of gun that most people would up and ignore since it's the kind of details most would miss. Capcom didn't have to present us with a weapon that has so many intricate points to its story but they did it anyways. and they seemingly managed to give us one of the most iconic handguns in gaming history because of it.
You guys put so much effort into your videos. I commend you. I'll be honest, I think after Clover was disbanded RE kinda forgot any continuity it had going.
My eventual dream is to have a custom beretta 92 with the stars grip and stars slide cuts. My EDC is a beretta 92x with a stars grip but not the slide yet. Definitely My favorite pistol of all time. It's just so perfect in games and movies and real life. Do be a big gun to carry doe
@@Master_Mew90 to only shoot in some cardboard and bottles? having a gun crashing on my face because i don't have enough muscled arms to bear the recoil? it would be interesting to do ten minutes, but that's all
I know we haven't gotten to wesker's model yet but I can't wait for you to show how he still used it all the way up until his death in re5 showing that even a supposed god knew true quality when he knew it
I always believed making Bond stick with the Walther was such a bad decision. Jill keeping the Samurai Edge can be justified, because it's a full-size 9mm with a capacity of 15 rounds, still very good for modern standards. Bond, on the other hand, goes around with a fucking single stack .32 ACP. Fucking stupid.
Something else that I think needs to be mentioned, If Jill was an Army Vet, and Delta Force then she should very comfortable with the Beretta 92 series as it was the basis for the standard issue sidearm, the M9. That could also account for the lack of modification on her Samurai Edge model as she was already accustomed to the basic M9.
Cant wait to see what you have in store for the other models. I’m a Beretta nut, carried one for 9 years in the army and ended up buying a .40 S&W model when I took my security job. Never had a single issue and I’ve been looking for custom parts for it for a while!
@@360entertainment2 oh yeah, they good. Not sure about his works on 96's but there seems to be nothing but good things said online about Langdon's work on the 92.
In the games canonically i wonder which ones is most powerful between the 5. Based on research ive gathered its canonically as follows SAMERAI EDGE (STANDARD) SAMERAI EDGE (JILL) SAMERAI EDGE (CHRIS) SAMERAI EDGE (WESKER) SAMERAI EDGE (BARRY) reason i say that is cuz in the re1 remake the inf handgun you get after beating it is the barry model chambered in .40 S&W but barry uses that same gun in revelations 2 but its chambered in 9mm so theres a minor continuity error. But if its actually chambered in 40 then barrys got a slightly bigger punch when compared to the others.
I'm not sure if this was said in any of your videos, but the Beretta firearms manufacturer has been around for almost 5 centuries (495 years they started in 1526, according to google; assuming they haven't tried to politicize that, it could be accurate). They're one of, if not, the oldest active firearms manufacturer in the world. I just thought I would put that out there since the samurai edge pistol is modeled after the Beretta M92 series of pistols
The fact that they make Jill lose her Samurai Edge at the beginning of the Resident Evil 3 remake really bothers me. They threw away the most iconic weapon of the Resident Evil series as well as one of the most iconic guns in gaming history. I can understand them not wanting players to start the game with the gun but they should have had it to where it was confiscated when she was suspended and you can recover it from the RPD.
This. I made a similar comment talking about how the Glock was probably the most disappointing substitute as well. The M9 has a conceal carry variant called the 8000- she should've used that! At the very least, we could've gotten Jill's Samurai Edge at the RPD.
@@12ealDealOfficial Yeah the Glock isn't very impressive. It's a fine gun butt it's also a very cookie cutter gun without a lot of personality. The problem is solved for the most part when you get the Samurai Edge from the unlockables menu but I got the collectors edition of the game so the Jill Valentine statue holds a Glock instead of the Samurai Edge.
@@Brandon_Powell Seemed like such an unnecessary change in the first place, just like her outfit. Pretty immersion breaking when Jill looks like she stepped out of 2018 but all the car models were updated from RE2R to look more '90s.
@@12ealDealOfficial My problem with her outfit is the fact that it's so generic. It's basically how Claire looks at the end of the Resident Evil 2 remake. I remember before the Resident Evil 3 remake was announced someone made a piece of fan art of a potential Jill Valentine in a Resident Evil 3 remake. It was a business casual type attire with a long blue sleeve shirt. It was about what I'd expect Jill Valentine to wear when she was off the clock.
@@Brandon_Powell It looks exactly like Laura Croft's outfit from the reboot too. If Capcom wanted to cop to the west in the first place, the least they could've done was make her attire more period correct. Should've kept the boots but given her some high waist jeans, maybe have her wear the white blouse she had tied around her waist in Nemesis. Roberta Vasquez in a 1990 film called Guns wore a similar outfit and it looks great. The DLC outfit was perfectly acceptable too. Seemed like such an odd design shift.
I had always a Question why did capcom didn't show Joseph kendo whole series he is missing he who build a beautiful custom weapon but he is a real Gun expert I love your video please continue this videos
Considerando que es una de las armas más emblemáticas de la saga, uno pensaría que deberían respetar el Lore y el diseño en cada entrega, supongo que los diferentes directores artísticos no les importó...
This reminds me in the POS remake they dropped her samurai edge and give her a random gun of a dead cop. Also miss opportunity of kendo giving her some special weapon in their one and only encounter
I'm sorry, but Jill's personal weapon felt completely pointless in RE2:Remake. I always used the pistols of Chris because of its swift targeting. Sometimes I might use Wesker when I feel like going on a power fantasy. But Jill? The quick draw didn't seem quick enough to really matter. Oh well.
What’s even worse about the bad model of Jill’s Samurai Edge in RE3R is that RE2R actually has the correct model, with the shortened slide stop and black trigger. They literally could’ve just ported the correct model from RE2R into RE3R.
Women aren't allowed in the special forces in the U.S military (at the time of this writing). But then again zombies don't exist either, so clearly RE is similar enough to our world but different enough that either the U.S. military doesn't have that rule in the RE world or officially they aren't but unofficially Jill was allowed in once she proved her worth.
Thanks for the great videos. This one made me go to the attic to find the first thing I ever bought online: the softair-version of exactly THIS GUN! Still have it...sits on a stand on the mantlepiece now.
The Custom SE guns and they're reflection of the user. Jill, Simple yet practical. Chris; sharp and reinforced. Wesker; Robust, prisce and accurate. Barry; Bulky, buff and Badass
In RE3 Remake, they should have kept Jill's Samurai Edge as her standard weapon. The Glock 19 isn't a bad gun. It is very reliable. I don't own one but I've shot them enough to to know they're fine firearms. They're boring looking to me and will cost and arm and a leg to customize it. The flair that Jill's Samurai Edge brings to the table just dwarfs a standard G19. I own a Beretta 92 and customized it to look like a Samurai Edge (Chris model). The Samurai Edge is just iconic.
Why didn't I receive a notification for this?! Argh I'm excited for a new video but I don't know why I missed the notification. Ah well, new KendoGunShop is always good for me!!!
You know... sometimes i wish that Capcom weren't that lazy with RE3 Remake and made the posibility to return to Jill's apartment and been possible to retrieve the Samurai Edge during the game instead of been unlocked. Esentially, the Samurai Edge in the Remake became the Eagle 6.0 from the original.

Definitely shows with RE3R not once is it ever mentioned in any other game that the R.P.D employs G-19 it was always M911,92F or the Browing hi-power.
@@falloutrapture7232 Yeah cause there was a Browning Hi Power in the glove box of a random police vehicle that Leon and Claire got in.
I know right?!? It’s a damn shame
Because they don't. I wonder how many employees from the 90's even remain.
Anyway…
LETS GOO ANOTHER SAMURAI EDGE VIDEO! WOOHOO!!
Chris's model according to the lore had a sight enhancement in order to compliment the Air-Force Pilot turned RPD Officer's seemingly superhuman marksmanship mastery.
@@derrickhaggard Hmm, that sounds interesting.
Chris model WOULDN't be interesting. it's only usable in RE2R that's all. Barry and Weskler, ok
@@Deathwing3019 it's Wesker model we should talk about then
The original re3 game will always be canon to me I didn't like the remakes very much cause all they did was up the graphics and did over the shoulder gameplay with no real new longer better story.
@@DebFiloriBurrous stop talking by absurdities. wxe never know
@@giannilyanicks1718 I'm simply stating possibilities of what I would like to see happen based on the RE lore. It all depends on what the writers decide to come with for the next new game or movie.
@@DebFiloriBurrous calm down with your fanboyism
You know the gun is iconic when its has 3 part videos while others get 1.
Well that and there's a lot more history behind the SE in RE lore than most other guns.
I loved this. I had always overlooked the 92 because of the open slide and moving external parts, but you have made me really want to pick one up.
Yo pick up a 92f they are really comfortable and beautiful altogether
Get a 92x rdo. Theyre the best deal right now and can accept an optic
@@sergiomelchor3960 I was actually thinking of getting the 92FS.
@@burtbiggum499 I was actually thinking of getting the 92FS.
@@hallofguns8174 get one you won't regret it
Aw yeah its finally happening ladies and gentlemen! Let's go!
As a resident evil megafan and owner of every title as well as a firearm enthusiast and collector I must say, I really appreciate your videos and smooth buttery voice. Thank you man and please keep on making more videos.
I really don't know how anyone could dislike these videos there's sooo much work put into these vids and they're so good
honestly, the one thing that amazes me here is that Capcom decided to put so much attention to the lore of gun that most people would up and ignore since it's the kind of details most would miss.
The Samurai Edge single handily changed my view point on Beratta's. Seeing how it's not a bastardized military issued version I've grown accustomed to
Badass content as always Kendo, absolutely well done.
@Leon Kennedy I know what u mean my ccw is a 92fs its a amazing gun platform
@@Master_Mew90 I love mine also! I about to buy another Beretta 92 fs that is black this time, change the grips and the barrel
handling a real gun isn't so cool in real life
@@giannilyanicks1718 only to a novice. Firearms rock in real life try it!
@@Master_Mew90 to only shoot in some cardboard and bottles? having a gun crashing on my face because i don't have enough muscled arms to bear the recoil? it would be interesting to do ten minutes, but that's all
Honestly, I think it would be cool if you did a full rundown of the RPD's weapons.
I know we haven't gotten to wesker's model yet but I can't wait for you to show how he still used it all the way up until his death in re5 showing that even a supposed god knew true quality when he knew it
Sometimes you just don't want some peasant's blood on your tailored suit ya know.
I was so Happy when I get the Samuray Edge in my second run of the game. Jill Without the S.Edge Is like James Bond Without his Whalter.
although you'il eventually see her without her SE beretta in a next RE game.
One video for model?! I couldn't ask for more
That's awesome
Why must you tease us?
Never knew Jill was in the military. Great video dude 👍💙💯
Yes! The original Samurai’s Edge!
When will it reach the time when we ever NOT have Samurai Edge related content? Nice
Just hope they don't fuck up Leon's Silver Ghost in the RE4 remake.
Shame they're skipping code veronica though.
"Long respected lore."
Quoth the dev team
Nevermore.
Cant wait to see what you have in store for the other models. I’m a Beretta nut, carried one for 9 years in the army and ended up buying a .40 S&W model when I took my security job. Never had a single issue and I’ve been looking for custom parts for it for a while!
You ever thought about sending your 96 over to Langdon Tactical for custom work?
@@aggrodkreg4321 I have not, are they good?
@@360entertainment2 oh yeah, they good. Not sure about his works on 96's but there seems to be nothing but good things said online about Langdon's work on the 92.
It was due to Jill Valentine and the first Die Hard movie that I love the 92fs.
In the games canonically i wonder which ones is most powerful between the 5.
Based on research ive gathered its canonically as follows
SAMERAI EDGE (STANDARD)
SAMERAI EDGE (JILL)
SAMERAI EDGE (CHRIS)
SAMERAI EDGE (WESKER)
SAMERAI EDGE (BARRY)
reason i say that is cuz in the re1 remake the inf handgun you get after beating it is the barry model chambered in .40 S&W but barry uses that same gun in revelations 2 but its chambered in 9mm so theres a minor continuity error. But if its actually chambered in 40 then barrys got a slightly bigger punch when compared to the others.
So Wesker ain't the only who has a picture of Chambers, eh?
Another excellent video, thanks Brothers Kendo! The editing and writing around 9:30 cracked me up, Jill looks pissed XD
Can't wait for Barry's models.
September 28. Resident Evil Day. A perfect time for a Kendo video!
Excellent as always. Gladly bought one of the stickers. Keep it up!
Awesome! Thank you!
Definitely gotta do a video on RE8 Wolfsbane magnum
Its thanks to videos like your that keep RE in my head 24/7. And I don’t see a problem with that lol
Hey KendoGunShop, could you do the re7 .44 automag i think it would be cool to see the gun in your full animation stile :)
Man CAPCOM not only has done Jill dirty but they scuffed her samurai edge over and over FeelsBadMan
Hopefully we see the other custom samurai edges soon!
I had always a Question why did capcom didn't show Joseph kendo whole series he is missing he who build a beautiful custom weapon but he is a real Gun expert I love your video please continue this videos
Can't wait for Albert Wesker's SE 😎
Just ordered my sticker! Laptop is looking a little bare.
Every KGS upload brings us closer to a video on Claire's Beretta 93R!
Considerando que es una de las armas más emblemáticas de la saga, uno pensaría que deberían respetar el Lore y el diseño en cada entrega, supongo que los diferentes directores artísticos no les importó...
Watching this with my Beretta "Samurai Edge" beside me lol
This reminds me in the POS remake they dropped her samurai edge and give her a random gun of a dead cop. Also miss opportunity of kendo giving her some special weapon in their one and only encounter
Was the master of unlocking but spent hours searching for keys.
Great video, your channel is awesome keep up the great work.
Hunk and Umbrella would approve of my H&Ks.
Do the semi auto rifle from re4 please 😁
I can't wait for the Chris Model, Barry model and the Wesker Model (my fave)
Women aren't allowed in the special forces in the U.S military (at the time of this writing). But then again zombies don't exist either, so clearly RE is similar enough to our world but different enough that either the U.S. military doesn't have that rule in the RE world or officially they aren't but unofficially Jill was allowed in once she proved her worth.
Jill shooting in the firing range was sick ngl
Welp I'm gonna go on a binge of kendo workshop.
Wait, what!? Jill was Delta-Force?! Hard as F
I'm assuming that the next model will be the one that Chris had
How about Kevin Ryman's .45?
Golden as always ✨
How about Captain Wesker's for next Samurai Edge? I think his Samurai Edge was quite customized and worth reviewing.
I'm curious as to why upon joining the BSAA she ditched the SE in favor of a PX4 Storm
WHAT? I need to confirm. Probably Beretta's least liked firearm.
Edit: In RE5 Mercenaries. What a weird choice!
5:09 21 years later and I didn’t know that this existed!
Can you make video about the Eagle 6.0 from RE nemesis? If possible
I still want one of those to this day. I should have bought a 5" when I had the chance.
Can you do the history of the sti eagle 6.0 next?
I know this is an RE channel but it whould be cool to see a review of weapons from DINO CRISIS
Parasite Eve 2 as well!
I wonder if the "Black Taurus" enhanced ammo is a subtle nod to Winchester's Black Talon line of ammo?
worth waiting!
I can't wait to see my favorite one shown here: the Barry Burton model
I'll be getting the airsoft version of it
Thanks for the great videos.
This one made me go to the attic to find the first thing I ever bought online:
the softair-version of exactly THIS GUN!
Still have it...sits on a stand on the mantlepiece now.
OMG thank you! Needed this for my all-nighter work night.
The Custom SE guns and they're reflection of the user.
Jill, Simple yet practical.
Chris; sharp and reinforced.
Wesker; Robust, prisce and accurate.
Barry; Bulky, buff and Badass
Welcome back, Joseph Kendo here.
September 28th, daylight.
The monsters have overtaken the city.
Somehow, I'm still alive.....
The semi auto handgun from resident evil dead aim
Looking forward to her Revelations model. Always wondered if its her original or a remake by Kendos brother.
