Jill is quickly replacing Leon as my favorite RE character. That's the one thing I love about the 2 and 3 remakes: the characters are so much more fleshed out. In the original RE, Jill came off like a rookie green. If you've earned a rank among any Special Forces, you'd have to be the best of the best. In this remake, she definitely comes across as seasoned, well-trained, and in control.

After that she wakes up and Carlos helps her to escape, she on the way meets Brad who is injured and so she runs away with Carlos to the subway where the Demo starts.
At 1:16 when Carlos looks in that hallway and sees those two cops. That’s the hallway where Leon finds the guy with his face all messed up and that guy hanging from the pole. You can even hear a licker sound.

NO OPERATION MAD JACKAL MINIGAME No multiple endings What we have: A perfect dodge that kills all the dread. No survival horror feeling. Neat shiny sterile environments especially in the end. No strategy needed to beat enemies, even your basic zombie has become your basic bitch. No depth, replayability, immersion, expanding on the lore, creativity at surviving the city (like trap crafting or shooting strings and chains to drop heavy objects on enemies.) etc No meaningful secrets, secret areas and worthy of exploration areas. Nemmie doesn't get more pissed off and strategic with time. Nemmie becomes a dog/alien/licker hybrid with pointy chicken wings instead of that ever persistent humanoid tyrrant you just cant get rid off. ahhh 21 years and they screwed up my favorite game so hard... .
Jill and Carlos showed more chemistry here in 2 minutes than Jill x Chris across five games, then again Chris has to be the most vanilla and boring plank of wood in the entire gamingdom
When Carlos looks longingly at Jill when she's leaving on the train... For some fans, the original RE3 (my personal series favorite, btw) birthed the shipping of Jill and Carlos, which I never truly understood, as Chris and Jill made a billion times more sense, OG Carlos was something of a hot headed dude bro, (I mean, I get it, he's a mercenary) and he and Jill had zero chemistry. But with this remake, Idk. I'm seeing it. I'm shipping it. Even if they don't actually go there, this game is making me believe things about the series that I hadn't thought possible. This might seem like a small thing, in the grand scheme of things, but it's remarkable that a series that has been around for decades can revamp characters and their arcs in interesting ways.
@Ralph Tobias We will see, so far Capcom is on fire with RE remakes and aside from few mistakes they make it work. Less action, more horror, both aspects are nicely balanced. Didn't like RE5-6, but damn Ustanak found himself in wrong games, it was a nice monster.

Resident Evil 4 was awesome and deserves all the praise it gets, but could have easily been its own IP. Also, just maybe, one more remake that would cover RE1 and RE:Zero, but that's very unlikely.

MitchT93 Gotta include 😂 to feel like you really did something huh Capcom often changes their characters for the worse in the remakes, like Claire swearing for 80% of the script in the RE2 remake. I hope you’re right but all I’ve seen in the demo and trailers is him being excessively goofy every time he’s on screen. Carlos in the original had those goofy lines very sparingly but the rest of the time he was very focused, while it looks like they flipped him in this. It’ll still be a great game, I just hope they don’t bastardize the characters too much.

It does bother me because the premise that character looks are tied into character and story quality is shallow.

@@Kiddo_williams They removed live selection and expanded Jill and Carlos' story. It's not like that feature added hours of gameplay to the original. They had to make significant changes, as much as I love the original, it was a short spinoff game that got a main series numbered title slap onto it. I still feel like it'll be a rather short game despite the expanded story.
Carlos is sooo likeable here! With the way they 'fix' Carlos' character, I have high hopes that they'll give Steve the same treatment for when Code Veronica gets a remake.

Man, seeing Jill and Carlos again together makes me so happy, I've always felt it was a waste that she was always with Chris later and Carlos never appeared again. They have great chemistry! He is my favourite character and I'm so happy he's back
(Spoilers on Classic RE3) I doubt they'd change the location of where the final boss is by a lot. This was outside compared to the final boss being in an facility room with a massive rail gun and giant batteries everywhere. I think it'd be similar to that.
Judging from the location, it looks like the point when the helicopter goes down at the clock tower. So...maybe he mutates more than once and see a mutation earlier? Of they've shifted shit around, which is also a possibility.

I don't get why people are up in arms about Jill's new appearance. Do they hate this because she's no longer in a miniskirt? Changing the face model? She's still objectively attractive. The new outfit doesn't detract from that either, it's just more modest when compared to before. I think this is just a classic case of "It's different so it sucks."

I got a little spoiled already but it only made me more excited for the game, and I doubt not seeing Nemesis attack Brad will ruin it. But it is better I know now that the remake won't have this scene when I play the game instead of not knowing it isn't coming and I get hyped for it.

But I do have one more question. I heard there were unlockable costumes in the game. Do they include the original Jill Re3 look and Carlos hair/beard? Or is that purely only a preorder bonus? I kinda know the answer considering how classic costumes were free in RE2, and RE games had made unlockable bonuses initially as preorder bonuses before, like in RE7 there was a way to get Madhouse difficulty before beating the game. But I may as well ask.

No depth, replayability, immersion, expanding on the lore, creativity at surviving the city (like trap crafting or shooting strings and chains to drop heavy objects on enemies.) etc
No meaningful secrets, secret areas and worthy of exploration areas.
Nemmie doesn't get more pissed off and strategic with time.

For some fans, the original RE3 (my personal series favorite, btw) birthed the shipping of Jill and Carlos, which I never truly understood, as Chris and Jill made a billion times more sense, OG Carlos was something of a hot headed dude bro, (I mean, I get it, he's a mercenary) and he and Jill had zero chemistry. But with this remake, Idk. I'm seeing it. I'm shipping it. Even if they don't actually go there, this game is making me believe things about the series that I hadn't thought possible. This might seem like a small thing, in the grand scheme of things, but it's remarkable that a series that has been around for decades can revamp characters and their arcs in interesting ways.
The whole remake series is a chance for Capcom to correct the mistakes they made over the years. Also bring Wesker back lol.
@Ralph Tobias We will see, so far Capcom is on fire with RE remakes and aside from few mistakes they make it work. Less action, more horror, both aspects are nicely balanced. Didn't like RE5-6, but damn Ustanak found himself in wrong games, it was a nice monster.

We can still have Leon as a DSO Special Agent, but within a context and storyline that doesn't involve rescuing the president's daughter from crazed religious fanatics. Don't get me wrong. Resident Evil 4 was awesome and deserves all the praise it gets, but could have easily been its own IP. Also, just maybe, one more remake that would cover RE1 and RE:Zero, but that's very unlikely.

Capcom often changes their characters for the worse in the remakes, like Claire swearing for 80% of the script in the RE2 remake. I hope you’re right but all I’ve seen in the demo and trailers is him being excessively goofy every time he’s on screen. Carlos in the original had those goofy lines very sparingly but the rest of the time he was very focused, while it looks like they flipped him in this.
It’ll still be a great game, I just hope they don’t bastardize the characters too much.

They had to make significant changes, as much as I love the original, it was a short spinoff game that got a main series numbered title slap onto it. I still feel like it'll be a rather short game despite the expanded story.

I really hope the mutation of nemesis which was shown in the end isn't the final boss cause the element of surprise would be off then
(Spoilers on Classic RE3) I doubt they'd change the location of where the final boss is by a lot. This was outside compared to the final boss being in an facility room with a massive rail gun and giant batteries everywhere. I think it'd be similar to that.
Judging from the location, it looks like the point when the helicopter goes down at the clock tower. So...maybe he mutates more than once and see a mutation earlier? Of they've shifted shit around, which is also a possibility.

But it is better I know now that the remake won't have this scene when I play the game instead of not knowing it isn't coming and I get hyped for it.

But I do have one more question. I heard there were unlockable costumes in the game. Do they include the original Jill Re3 look and Carlos hair/beard? Or is that purely only a preorder bonus? I kinda know the answer considering how classic costumes were free in RE2, and RE games had made unlockable bonuses initially as preorder bonuses before, like in RE7 there was a way to get Madhouse difficulty before beating the game. But I may as well ask.

Nemesis 2nd stage looks like a giant licker, I'm sure people will have mix feelings but I think it's pretty good and new.
Somehow it reminds me of a xenomorph.
