I just wanted to say, it's been about two years since I've found your channels and they have brought great comfort to me. I deal with severe anxiety and depression, and any time I feel overwhelmed I just watch one of your videos to escape and calm down. So thanks Shinichi and Satoshi for sharing your lives. Your voices are always soothing, and your good energies are wonderful to vibe to. I hope you both have a great new year, and I look forward to watching more videos!

We have a shopping center here in Columbus Ohio that has 6 or 7 Japanese stores (sushi restaurants, bakery, grocery, gifts, and others) and one storefront is a “cultural center” that hosts events. This past weekend they had a charity ceramics sale and I thought of Shinichi 😊 I also LOVE ceramics and wanted to buy all of it! I restrained myself and only bought two pieces ☺️

What a quaint and beautiful little town. The buildings are definitely a throwback in time. I always say, ‘can you imagine the stories these old buildings/landmarks/castles/shrines, and especially old roads, could tell, if only they could only speak?’ Amazing! Your somen and brother Satoshi’s soba looked so delicious and so refreshing. I loved that you were both so kind to that little ojichan. He was definitely a talker. Loved your rental car-as it’s just a shade lighter than my car. The official color of my car is ‘Nori Green.’ Thank you for sharing Kurayoshi and Tottori. I saw that it’s about an 8 hour trip from Tokyo by car. Definitely going onto my bucket list. ❤

Wow, I lived there for three years back in 1993-1996. That little cafe at @21:25 used to be known as the Lofthouse. Very cool little place with live bands sometimes back then.

Thank you for sharing these amazing small towns of Japan.
My wife and I are travelling from Australia in late April 2023 for a four week visit. We are travelling by train and want to spend the majority of our time visiting the small towns and cities.
Both of you have inspired us to visit the lesser known places that we can explore on foot, meet the locals and taste those amazing dishes we see on your videos.
    😎🤓

Thanks so much for the great tour of old town Kurayoshi! I lived in Kurayoshi from1988 and 1990 while teaching on the JET program, so I enjoyed this virtual visit, your commentary, and also your positive energy. If you do return, I recommend climbing Utsubuki Yama (the mountain itself). Trails accessed from Utsubuki Park. There's a wonderful old Buddhist temple on top of the "mountain" which only takes about 20 minutes to climb. Along the way are a number of stone statues of buddhas, jizos, etc., lining the trail. In town, I remember a large, hip coffee house/restaurant called the Loft House, located in a beautiful, old building. I wonder if it is still there. Enjoy your travels, and thanks again.

Thank you for showing us the many places in Japan that are almost unknown to foreign tourists. I am missing Japan so much and I've been binge-watching your videos. Is it possible to make a video of what you are Satoshi carry in your backpacks when you're traveling or your EDC?
Oh, what I was fascinated about Japan is all beautifully crafted manhole covers in every city, like the one seen in 5:28 and I do hope you could show us some when you come across them in your tours.

Some fruit trees have small branches of different varieties grafted to them so that they produce different fruits. Also with Willow trees sometimes you can take cuttings and put them in a glass of water and they will start making roots. Fun for kids!

Sadar Bazaar and Chandni Chowk are shopping areas in Delhi India. My guess is the cafe that you passed by was named after those, perhaps they had some Indian inspired dishes.
