Indeed...... It is supposed to be a Goth music festival..... Which takes place in the evening, but all of those Steampunks and cosplayers think it is a day for fancy dress..... In a way their very presence there is a mockery of the Goth subculture
Certainly did, a couple of times. my ankle was killing me at the end of the first day. Had to buy a bag of frozen peas to calm it down. No Gain without pain. Thoroughly recommend the weekend, its on twice a year, Ishall return in October for the next one.
Love Whitby and only a 50 minute drive away for us but e we normally keep away for this weekend due to the crowds but I think we have been missing out. It looked great and people made a real effort, which you captured so well. Cheers Alan
Thanks again Alan, it's twice a year as well as 2 steampunk events. I sleep in my little camper in the harbour carpark and make a weekend of it. You should definitely give it a go. next one is in April.
I live in New Zealand, I was born in Boosbeck, many moons ago. I wish I could have enjoyed in these events. We have nothing like this here. My heart cries to be in England. One day. England is my true home
While visiting Whitby Abbey in 2016, I took a massive shit in the on-site public toilets. It was such monster, that I lifted it out of the toilet bowl, and after waiting until the coast was clear, I carefully 'displayed' it in one of the hand washing basins, then wrote a note on a piece of shit paper, that said, "Look at my lovely Mr. Whippy", and lovingly placed it next to the shit.
Thanks for the amazing video. Have been in Whitby but never during Gothic Weekend. But that is a goal on my bucket list.
Tastefully, even at times elegantly done. Thank you. I've been a Goth all my life, to the manor (and manners) born.
Thanks Doyle, looking forward to the next one in April
@@nicholsa63 Absolutely! I believe it will be as good, if not better.
I would call this style more steampunk than Goth.

Very evocative - nice to have Evanescence as a backdrop to a super video. Great characters & costumes - hope this is an ever-growing trend.
Well .... that was ..... different lol. Excellent photography mind.
Thanks Andy, I think they call it rehab😀, First trip out since my injury.
Stephen Nicholls hope you didn’t climb those steps mind 😝

New Zealand is a lovely place though. I'm surprised there isn't a Steam Punk event of some sort there.
Apparently there is and its huge.
