Thank you for this video! It took me a while to figure out the crucial part of re-inserting the rotating bit into the housing. You did everything in the video, but you don't talk about the crucial part where you pull the chain to tension the spring before sliding the plate on over top of it. There's a little tab in the plate that the rotating bit hits up against. Here's the procedure I followed:
    1. Insert the spring into the rotating bit.
    2. Wrap the chain around 1 time.
    3. Feed the chain out the hole in the switch housing
    4. Slide the spring onto the shaft (paying attention to the notch)
    5. Hold the center of the rotating bit down with your thumb while you pull on the chain, rotating it 3/4 of the way around.
    6. Hold the tension on the chain and your thumb on the center of the rotating bit while you slide the plate overtop of it.
    7. When you let go of your thumb, the chain should pull and return properly!

I have been living with a snapped fan pull chain for about 2 years!!! ha ha ha We have 2 standing fans and 1 floor fan (for our dog) in our living room because we live in Sacramento and it's hot as heck! My boyfriend offered to fix it, but I have said we're OK, not necessary! Well after watching my older dog maneuvering around wires, I said enough is enough and I decided to try to find a video on how to fix it. I haven't done it yet, but I believe I will be able to do this without too much trouble, which I know will make me want to kick myself for having 3 fans in the living room for the past 2 years!!! ha ha ha ha I'm going to thank you in advance, because I know I'll be sitting in my living room today with the lovely ceiling fan blowing and the floor will be free of fans! Thank you!!! I'll comment back if I fail. :)

JESUS CHRIST IS COMING SOON! We are all sinners . We've all fallen short of His glory. The wages of sin is death (hell) and that's what we all deserve. God is just, and because of that, He must punish evil. Jesus came and took our punishment and died (but rose again 3 days later) for our sins. All we have to do is repent and trust in Jesus Christ and we will have eternal life in heaven . Time is ticking, but it hasn't ran out ❤️

Wow. I just fixed our Harbor Breeze chain. It takes alot of abuse running year round here in Florida but with this fix-it vid, it's working again. It was tricky but being female and having tiny hands made it easier I think. I also loved that gals 'part 2 comment' of where you fell short explaining how the chain pulley and spring all needed to be on the base, and turned slightly so the wire lip hooked in. Thanks so much for saving the day. "I ain't buying no new part!!"

This video helped me know what to look for when fixing my fan pull chain. Luckily, I had the same green and black switch assembly. However, I had issues with the pull chain jamming after reassembly. I tried pushing the rotating piece down as shown, but that didn't work for me to unjam the mechanism. I was able to reset my chain by pulling hard (mostly out of frustration) on the chain after it was reassembled. This somehow reset the position of the chain. Thanks for the great video!

Thanks dude.!! You really saved my life... Only the chain can't be fixed because there is a special screw at the chain thingy itself. I've only managed to change the speed but still, it works!!!! Thank you
