Good looking out my boii. Today I have everyone worshipping me like a god for not calling a tech guy and doing it myself. Fixing it like I done it hundreds of times all thanks to you!!
That's awesome!! haha =)
I was completely stumped for 2 days, and then I found your video! You explained everything so clearly and thoroughly. Thanks for taking the time to show us :)
It's my pleasure to help! =)
Thank you! I’m proving to my daughter that women can be self sufficient with repairs!
I love it! Good job mom =)
My daughter & I are the fix-it girls in her & her husband’s house! Her husband wasn’t taught nor brought up with someone to teach him unfortunately. My dad taught me & my kids to be self sufficient, how to use tools & do it yourself if possible. We’ve fixed ceiling fans, electrical outlets, indoor & outdoor plumbing, doors, I will rewire a lamp before buying a new one (unless I want a new one!), not afraid to use electric tools & have built many items. It’s so satisfying when you can fix your own!
I gotta say, nice instructions, video and image stills with impeccable guidance! So many videos were of some guy fixing it but wouldn't couldn't see what they were actually doing. ¡Oralè!
I saw those videos too! hehe. They were not helpful so I decided to make my own. Good job fixing it yourself!
This is an awesome step by step video man. Thank you for this. A few videos before this said it could not be done and simply suggests buying a new switch. This makes it very easy and saves about $8-$11. Thanks for taking the time out to shoot this and show us all the components.
This was perfect! I appreciate the part about going back to ensure the wedge part was locked in.
Thanks for the feeback! I'm glad everything worked out for you!
Perfect! I was struggling, with putting it back together, and was just about to give up, when I came across this video... It was the third or fourth one I watched and by far the best one, with the easiest explanation on how to put it back together...short and to the point, and easy to understand!
I'm glad you didn't give up! Good work pushing through a challenge. It's like a little brain teaser puzzle, hehe.
MY FRIEND!!! I thought I was going to lose my mind! I knew there was a specific way the wheel needed to be fixed to the cover! I couldn’t figure it out! Other videos just said put the wheel back and snap the cover…then you came in with the SIGHT! 😂 yes! I almost wept when I heard you say “but it won’t work yet there’s one more step…” I yelled out “RIGHT?! There is!” Bless you!!! 😆
That's awesome to hear that you're willing to repair your own switch! This one was tricky for me so I figured I'd make a video to help other people. 💪🏻👊🏻🙌🏻
This was perfect!! I like the way you showed the detail with the spring and the wheel and the wedge. Until I saw that, my chain would not pull in and out. Thank you!
Same happened to me with the chain getting stuck. I followed other videos too and it wasn't helpful. Took me half an hour to figure it out and then I figured I'll make my own video, haha. Cheers!
@@ChavezDIY You did good!
Dude because of your awesome video was able to fix mine as well. Let me tell you it did take me a few tries to line that wedge up too , but once you get it.. man!! It’s a beautiful feeling !!! Lol. Thanks brother this was a great video !
You're welcome! The sense of accomplishment is a great feeling! Good work not giving up on it! =)
Exceptional video. It is so detailed anyone could understand and complete this task. All the graphics arrows and closeups make it easy to visualize.
Thanks for the feedback! That's my hope, to be able to help as many people as possible in doing the repair themselves =)
Thanks so much. You saved me ordering and waiting for a new switch.
Awesome! =)
Thanks for the detail explanation and steps. I was able to fix my switch following your video. 100/100 goes to you.
You're welcome! =)
Thanks. Without this video, I would not able to put back functional switch. Very well made with all the information.
Thanks for the feedback! It was a tricky little switch. =)
Thank you. Excellent video. Mine was a different configuration but this still helped me to figure it out.

BEST tutorial available!!
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback! Good luck with your fan! =)
Great video. Well-explained. Some switches cannot be pulled apart (see my reply below). I guess, for those, it just makes sense to replace the switch.
Thanks! It's also faster to just replace the whole switch.
Thank you for the help 🙏 your video is probably the most clear and most understandable video on youtube 🤘lol 💰💰

Absolutely the best video on this subject! Clear, great pictures and explanation. I didn't save it the first time I watched and it took me several minutes to find this again (lots of others come up before this, probably because of no ads :( ) - so I'm leaving a comment and liking so others can find this. AWESOME!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!
You're welcome! Thank you for the warm feedback! Good luck working on your ceiling fan! =)
Perfect
Thank You! =)
Eres el mejor
Gracias! =)
took a half hour to save 10$....but it was soooo satisfying
Awesome! 😆
You stated in the beginning there were two parts…. How did you get the other half off of the green “focus” part?
This video is for repairing the switch. In the video description I have the link to the video for replacing the switch. Try the other video.
Thank you for this video i was watching a different one and theyre like no way you cant do it just buy a new switch with the chain already in it.... bruh
hahaha! You're like, hold my beer and watch me do it.
@@ChavezDIY absolutely, thanks to you 👍
0:32 what should i do if mine is broken? the thing at the center which holds everything, i can't fix it anymore?
I would just buy a whole new switch. I have some links in the video description to some switches on amazon for the 3 speed type of switch. Even if you tried to fix that center piece with super glue, its tedious and there's no guarantee how long it will last and you'll have to do it all over again if it breaks again.
@@ChavezDIY yeah i tried but it was impossible, too many moving parts. so i just connected it directly and i have it on at all times lol. maybe in the future i'll just change the socket for one with a chain, they don't sell these light switches around here.
That Hampton bay carousel ii
Yessir! =)
How do you remove it from the fan though???
The link to that video is in the video description.
My question is who thought this small ball chain would be a good idea for these fans?
The ball chains in our home lasted about 10 years before 4 out of 5 broke. Seems alright to me.
Mucho grassy ass. ❤
De nada! =)
THANK YOU! Everyone else seems to think the whole piece has to be bought and replaced to fix. I’m saying to myself..The original chain was inserted somehow. Hoping it’s not a thing made to not be accessed.
You're welcome! There weren't good videos about this when I was trying to figure it out myself. So I figured I would add my video to help other people. =)
Super helpful. Thanks!
You're welcome! =)
Thanks!
You're welcome brother! Thank you too! 🙏🏻
Thanks!
Welcome! 😊
