      My daughter & I are the fix-it girls in her & her husband’s house! Her husband wasn’t taught nor brought up with someone to teach him unfortunately. My dad taught me & my kids to be self sufficient, how to use tools & do it yourself if possible. We’ve fixed ceiling fans, electrical outlets, indoor & outdoor plumbing, doors, I will rewire a lamp before buying a new one (unless I want a new one!), not afraid to use electric tools & have built many items. It’s so satisfying when you can fix your own!

    This is an awesome step by step video man. Thank you for this. A few videos before this said it could not be done and simply suggests buying a new switch. This makes it very easy and saves about $8-$11. Thanks for taking the time out to shoot this and show us all the components.

    Perfect! I was struggling, with putting it back together, and was just about to give up, when I came across this video... MY FRIEND!!! I thought I was going to lose my mind! I knew there was a specific way the wheel needed to be fixed to the cover! I couldn’t figure it out! Other videos just said put the wheel back and snap the cover…then you came in with the SIGHT! 😂 yes! I almost wept when I heard you say “but it won’t work yet there’s one more step…” I yelled out “RIGHT?! There is!” Bless you!!! 😆

    • @ChavezDIY
      @ChavezDIY  8 місяців тому

      I would just buy a whole new switch. I have some links in the video description to some switches on amazon for the 3 speed type of switch. Even if you tried to fix that center piece with super glue, its tedious and there's no guarantee how long it will last and you'll have to do it all over again if it breaks again.

      @Strytax 7 місяців тому

      @@ChavezDIY yeah i tried but it was impossible, too many moving parts. so i just connected it directly and i have it on at all times lol. maybe in the future i'll just change the socket for one with a chain, they don't sell these light switches around here.
