I actually deep fry the blooms by dipping them in egg ,then seasoned flour. Reminds me of asparagus.

ooohhhh somehow I've never heard of this!! sounds wonderful!! Any other tips for me, so I can try this? I assume new blooms are best (instead of old ones, about to go to seed)? And no stem, just the bloom, yes?

Thanks to the collaboration I have discovered you. This info is so useful. I have loved dandelions my whole life. Note I their usefulness beyond my love of their simple beauty. I also enjoy the background info you give on things.

I love the name Lula! Also love this video! Our neighbors down the block have a yard full of dandelions and I’m gonna ask them if I can harvest them!

YES!! They'll probably be happy to have you take them. :) (do make sure they haven't treated their yard with any chemicals before you harvest them.)

I just pick a bowl of the largest blooms I do leave a tiny bit of stem to make it easier to dip in my batter. Lay them in a towel ( do not wash ) just leave on the towel for an hour or so to let the critters crawl out. Then I just make a batter very thin. Then you can graph that stem place in batter get it good and covered . Pop in grease and brown about 2 to 3 minutes. Some say it tastes like mushrooms. My batter is 1 tbsp. Flour ,pinch of salt ,pinch of baking powder and paprika. You can also use very thin pancake batter. Hope this helps you will not regret trying them. They are so good.

We started using dandelion in our every day life about 3 years ago. My husband and I have many medical issues and it's definitely been helping us feel better. I'm wanting to start making lipbalm soon. ❤

Ok, I might reconsider these “lovely” yellow menaces in my yard! I think I have a recipe for a lavender bread or muffin that uses dandelions…🤷‍♀️

I am a new subscriber. Came over from RuthAnn Zimmerman. How did you two become friends? You are in New England and she's in Iowa! I've never done Instagram but I guess I'm missing out on something so I'll have to figure it out, lol.

We've talked a few times about trying to get together but have never actually met in person. :) We first "met" when we both hosted takeovers of an ig page callled "Homestead Mamas" and have been good friends ever since. :)
