I'm willing to guess that the nut attached to the cord is indeed to make the magnet swing more pronounced. From the looks of it, the tension of the coiled cord is pushing through the nut and making the magnet sit at an angle when fully retracted, so when it descends and the nut lets go, the weight of the cylinder makes it shake more than normal, the effect of which becomes more pronounced as more of the wire unspools and the pendulum motion takes effect.
Here is a trick if ur like playing one of those plunger games where u put it in a small hole u get to people and a ruler and first time u will miss it ur friend will measure it and if ur off bout 2 inches left he will tell u go 2 inches right it always works for me try it one time claw craziness and whoever reads this
I won from an impossible claw in Tesco once. They took away the machine and started only putting baby toys in the machines overall 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 it also said “TRY AGAIN!” Even though I won 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
