Honestly, Trevisan played even smarter when the match went deep into the 2 hrs mark. The loop starts coming more frequently, the variety to dispel Sakkari's effort to produce clean striking, just overall incredible will to win + Sakkari's trademark for being shaky during tense moment

Yep - it was a bit much.
Trevisan actually played well against Swiatek the other day, so this isn’t a surprise. And I know that she grunts too loudly, but she plays with such a positive attitude and genuine love for the game that I can’t help but root for her.

As an italian I'm so proud of our Martina 🥺kudos to Sakkari too and to the people saying that she was rude at the handshake I say that after loosing such a match it acceptable to be pissed so I wouldn't be too harsh on her. Fantastic match
Well said. Nothing wrong with the handshake. Doesn't mean you're necessarily upset with the opponent, but rather yourself; disappointed over your own performance. As long as you shake the hand, that's enough. You've acknowledged the opponent then and there with that gesture. If you fancy, you can congratulate the opponent more later on in the locker rooms, gym, canteen or wherever once you've shrugged off the disappointment.

Nothing wrong with the handshake. A handshake in and of itself is enough. That's basically the gesture of acknowledging the outcome. If you'd refuse to shake hands entirely, now that would be classless.

I thought they got rid of the screaming in this sport? Masking the sound of the impact makes it hard to determine the time of contact and the resulting trajectory, there was good reason for eliminating it.

Honestly, aside from tennis which was out of this world on both sides, grunting like this should lead to warnings and penalties. If you ever played tennis it would bother the hell out of you if the other player was grunting on each shot. Rafa, Nole and tons od other great players grunt on some shots but not every shot from the first point. Even if you are Italian or just a fan of her, this is just anoying as f and it bothers. Aside from that, kudos to one of the best matches on wta for a long time.
Notice, how it stops for a period at around 1:12. Clear gamesmanship and it's actually shocking that it's allowed.

What sucks is that we are talking about grunting and not her tennis which was great today but its her own fault. The way Sakkari gave her a handshake showed how it affected her, Sakkari usually gives warmer handshakes but here not even eye contact, and to be fair it would have bothered anyone on the tour, Sakkari did the right thing not to complain about it because its alowed but honestly it shouldnt be, if that Medvedev/Bublik point "this is gonna be on tennis tv bro" was hindrance, id say this is much more of a hindrance..

Grunting is ok, but the screaming has to be stopped from tennis. Put that in one of the rule changes. With new AI technology it is possible to easily tell the difference between a grunt and scream. If they cannot make this new rule, then allow audience to make noise during the point, just like any other sport. Only then Martina Tervisan will realize exactly how disturbing that is.

That screaming\grunting would affect most players on the other side. Even her slices came with a grunt, so it was not about force. That was a bit much.
Possibly the best women's tennis match I've seen. Both players were brilliant although Trevisan did carry on like a pork chop.
What a match. I know Trevisan’s entire persona on court comes from a genuine love and joy for the game, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t sympathise with Sakkari’s irritation. The awkward handshake at the end of the match was no surprise.
