- Very impressive driving and sound in the Shelby Cobra 289 during the race at Jarama Classic 2017
This car finished 2nd of the Sixities' Endurance Race.
Drivers: C. Van Riet & C. Dumolin
This Cobra moved by a 4837cc V8 engine with around 450 hp.

It looks like a lot of fun, but I'd be exhausted after about 10 laps.
This really does look like one of the most fun and challenging cars to (attempt to) drive fast. I don't know if I have it in me to toss it into corners the way this legend of a man does, but I'll be damned if trying isn't on my bucket list

Having never driven a race car I probably don't realize what I'm saying, but damn that looks like fun and I would love to try driving just like that .

They always said the Cobra didnt handle well but having someone who can exploit that raw power with bad handling, into a winning car deserves a medal, especially the way he's sawing with that steering wheel.
That was so much fun , think ill go for a couple more laps

A real men's car for real drivers. No traction control and other alphabetical shit like esp, fcu. Keeps that bastard in control with great skills of driving.
Compared to other Cobra videos it really seems like his tires have very little grip. He's going lock to lock on every second corner. Looks more like an ice racer.
That's how it's supposed to be driven, the car understeers off power and oversteers on power, you need to use throttle to turn the car.
It could be that the surface had gotten greasy . Most likely these aren't the only ones racing that weekend, there were other categories as well, so that plausible.
Hustle, pure cantaloupe sized balls, hustle through every corner. Beautiful.

@OlBlueshound - If that is an example of "very easy to drive" I'd sure as hell would like to see one that was a real handful! Any knowledgeable Cobra driver would tell you that driving the Cobra competitively required all of your attention and skills as a driver or you'd be in trouble very quickly!

@@arttafil6792 they were actually easier to drive than a 289 because of improvement in the suspension and 52% rear weight bias.
That thing sure is a handful to drive, but what a beast on the straights.

If my experience of simulator racing this car is right, this car doesn't have ABS nor traction control. Add rear wheel drive and a fairly soft suspension and you have the perfect fun machine. If you want to learn countersteering, get this car :))
And that is the difference between someone who really knows car control and the rest of us...

Car is set up nicely but could use a bit more grip, sure is strong running.
Seems really twitchy. Lift off oversteer seems out of place. Certainly looks difficult to balance but it goes like a missile

@@lyleeimen8303 very stupid question...is one supposed to be a top mason to notice if a wall is not built straight ? Must one be able to do better if one sees a badly layed floor ? Just for info, I've learned to drive with a 1966 350 GT Shelby Mustang (same engine as the Cobra Daytona btw) and I've attended a race driving school later on...
