I'm no legal expert nor do I study the law but had the defense called any more witnesses, Blanche knew that the prosecution would have EVISCERATED those witnesses during cross examination which would have only helped the prosecution. Hence why the defense didn't want to call any more witnesses to help the prosecution and further solidify a guilty verdict. He wanted the prosecution to fill in all the gaps, to "bear the burden of proof" in a legal sense. The defense therefore gambled that the long shot, was to hope that just 1 juror of 34 counts, would vote not guilty. A gamble that did not pay off. Blanche deep down inside before the case began, probably knew that he was going to lose regardless but this strategy probably had the best probability.

he didn't it was rigged, 100%, they could have at least pretended to have conflicting evidence, Nope Guilty on all 34 counts, what a Crock, it's Laughable, A Legal Analyst come on this very channel and laid out why the Prosecution didn't prove their case and all the reasonable doubts littered the entire case, but here is food for thought, the Supreme Court will soon rule on Presidential Immunity and I'm guessing the majority will rule that his Presidential immunity covers him from cases like this while he's in Office and this alleged crime happened while he was already in office meaning, "Abracadabra" And, "Puff!" this case retroactively vanishes, it's a theory but lets just see what happens in a few weeks, The Supreme Court could actually take up this case for violations to Trump's Rights, no where does it say that under certain circumstances someone who is accused can be silenced, but again we'll see, what do I know?

However, if the prosecution does not call witnesses that the defence thought they should have called, the defence had every right to call those very same witnesses to bolster it's case. A defence attorney csnnot say "I didnt call some witnesses to testify because I thought the defence should have." To me that's the sign of an incompetent attorney. Either that or the defence attorney is aware that if he called the witnesses he thought the prosecution should have, they would have made it worse for his client.

Todd Blanche's explanation made as much sense as saying:
"My client is innocent because he was found guilty."
    What?

Costello was a disastrous witness for the defense, and Trump would have been even worse.
