For a person of one hundred year old to play with such accuracy and feeling is a magnificent effort. As an 89 year old retired pianist and music teacher I well know all the problems besetting one in old age. Those who gave thumbs down should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

I just started taking piano lessons at 74, I thought I was going to play on my mother's piano which I inherited but at it's first tuning was told the bass bridge had collapsed and it was not fixable so my husband bought me a baby grand on which to learn, as his last gift to me shortly before he passed away.
I have a wonderful encouraging young woman who is very patient with me. I am finding that at times my fingers do not cooperate with my wishes but I would hope to be able to continue to 100 as this amazing lady has done. Things do change in the brain ( I am finding out) and our population is scurged with demensia and Alzheimer's, so one of my many motivations was to ward off further inevitable deterioration. It's a fascinating topic, the brain and learning music. In addition, I am truly very much enjoying it, pretty much a consuming new hobby. And in case anyone is interested I really do see significant changes in my brain.
So sorry to the person whose mother stopped teaching adults, it's rather a disservice, but I do understand it would take a special person to continue teaching someone who doesn't align with the "normal" progress.
I love you maam
Amazing how musicianship does not diminish. Music is truly one of the great mysteries.
I am now 72 and did not start composing for piano until age 58 after 52 years of playing the music of all the greats. I haven't played anyone else's music for 14 years and now have about 200 compositions including the 9-piece Rasputin Rhapsody I'm just completing. Never too late to explode in creativity.
Still playing from memory! I'll be happy if I can remember my own name at that age!
Practice is the key. Always.
You may forget who your children are... but you don’t forget good music.

You are funny and optimistic for a long Life 😊
As a pianist less than half her age I applaud her on her technique and the fact that is stitched in her brain that she can play such a difficult piece from memory. That is dedication and a love for music to say the least. My hat is off to her to be able to not only remember the notes but to get her hundred year old fingers to play so elegantly!!
Beautiful and inspiring.

I started playing piano at 8 years of age. I am 75 years old (soon to be 76) and on the occasion of my 50th birthday, my husband purchased a (very) grand piano for me. It has since, been my pride and joy all these years. More importantly, it is the single most treasured and loved representation of my Beloved's devotion and love to me. And, imagine, after 42 years of marriage he still takes my breath away!

What’s so remarkable is that ppl forget that elders have been there, done that, and have the answers to many things, and all u have to do is ask a wise old person about anything, about life, and their answer will be far better than ur friends or family simply because they have seen more than the rest of us.

I being an active busy teen at the time turned it down because I wanted to practice when I wanted too, not because I must. I have kicked myself over and over again for my STUPIDITY.
