Personally to me Kingdom Hearts has always been highly stylized and I somewhat disliked the push towards more realism in KH3. I hope this isn't more so in that direction.

I mean, Kingdom Hearts 3 looked gorgeous and I enjoyed it as much as I have any other KH game, but I hope with this one it doesn't end up looking too realistic, since I like the more cartoony/anime style of the characters, I feel like that's the charm of KH. But we'll see. I'm still excited, nonetheless and I mean, it does look nice and clean (Or Simple and Clean, should I say?) lol

Its good to see that they didnt forget the Disney side of Kingdom Hearts (not that they could with Disney being the co-owner and all). But it seems that the series is going back to its roots with Disney characters having a greater application in the main story. Having Donald and Goofy go to Hades, most likely in an attempt to find soras soul since he's the ruler of the underworld, is a great touch. It was honestly my biggest gripe about the 3rd game, it felt like the Disney worlds were so disconnected from the main plot and most of them were just scene for scene recreations of the original movies. When you compare that to the first two games, where Hades had clouds soul, monstro was a space while flying around the cosmos, King triton was aware of other worlds, the Dalmatians being lost around the universe, it felt so isolated. As though they were afraid to mix the two the way they did before. I also thought we were going to see more stitch cameos in the main worlds (like in KH2).
I agree. It would be wonderful if we could experience KH1's feel and atmosphere again. The sense of urgency and mystery, and of course the interconnected story.
This was my issue with KH3's plot. The Disney worlds almost felt like irrelevant padding. It also didn't help that the game gave you the best Disney world at the start with Hercules' world and then the rest of the world's were pretty hit and miss if you didn't much care for the nostalgia bait within them. My other issue with the game is that they could have done with a little less of the flashy summons and situation commands that made combat encounters way too easy. And way too easy is an understatement. Instead I hope they give a bit more focus on the combos, weight, movement and combat variety of Sora's moveset and refine the core combat a bit more. Make it accessible for new players but also increase the skill ceiling for those who enjoy complex combat. I'm on the side of the fanbase that thinks KH2/KH2FM was the peak of the series gameplay wise. I could do without the situation commands and go back to the simpler reaction commands system but I think SE might just refine the situation commands and the RNG with them so it doesn't make things too easy this time around. Here's hoping.
Olympus, Toy Box, Kingdom of Corona and The Caribbean all connected to the story tho in various ways. Olympus is searching for a way to return Sora's power, Toy Box is heavily connected to Quadratum, Corona features Marluxia and sets up stuff with the New 7 Hearts, and The Caribbean hints for the first time that Luxord and Vexen may have their own motives. The worlds in KH3 were just as connected to the main plot as any other game.
Exactly I feel like Kingdom Hearts 4 will be a fresh slate almost like a soft reboot of the series so they can keep some connections from the last games, but strive out on its own to make a actually solid planned out good arc

KH4 has definitely outshined the other games in my opinion for me. Sora looks so good and that outfit looks awesome! The whole Strelitzia thing is driving me nuts!!! It's already my favorite game and it's not even out yet. Sora is looking so crisp and clean. Seeing Strelitzia was a welcome addition. As a 34 year old man, I felt like a kid again waking up to this.

It's just another case of square jumping the gun and announcing their game too early. But to be fair it won't take nearly as long as 3 since they have kh3's engine to work from, plus all the assets from that they can reuse. I doubt it would be any longer than 2025-26.

Holy moly I'd remember playing KH1 and KH2 on PS2 just thinking why are the intro and ending cut scenes are so beautiful but now it's incorporated into the entire game?!
A couple interesting gameplay features I noticed: If you look over Sora's MP bar, he has an "EX" gauge that looks similar to the Focus gauge. And, more interestingly, in the command menu, the bottom option (which is always different in each KH game) is "Build." So, go figure what that could be about.

Im blown away. I think the new style is gonna take some getting used to but the animations and abilities so far look really cool i wonder what the new mechanics are gonna be it seemingly looks like at least in some form keyblade transformations are still a thing but looks so more refined. Also you can really see just how much sora has lost in a sense with how it looks like flow motion looks in this world it looks more like parcore with him using his keychain to help spiderman along to certain places. Cant wait til we get more info and trailers.
Keyblade transformations seem to look more BBBesque! Very armor like and not too cartoony. It's almost like an ode to all the OG KH players in my opinion. All of us are about in our mid to late 20s at this point so the fact the series is transitioning into what looks like some real life ish is... Comforting LMAO
Well the last command in the menu says "build", which makes me think of constructs (like green lantern type light constructs). The drill also looks less like a transformation and more like a construct, so creating really crazy objects in battle might be one of the new mechanics
The trailer looks like a very early dev build, like that first one of KH3 we got with KH2 Sora in Twilight Town fighting the Demon Tide. Still, looking like a pretty wild and phenomenal change in direction. KH has changed quite a lot since the original game in 2001 (/2002). I don't think a player of the original release could have ever anticipated this turn. Curious to see how this will turn out, for sure.

I just thought this out: the reason why the best stories are usually for mobile and handheld consoles is not because they dont like making good stories, but because a full console title gives little freedom to spread the story as they want, something that they can do when the game is "cheaper" to make. I dunno if it makes sense.
Yeah I know what you mean mate, the cheap games probably don't profit as much as the mainline games but it's keeping them going and helping the budget for the mainline games go up. But the thing is, with KH3 in unreal engine they already have so many high quality assets now they can reuse for years to come (like they were doing with KH1 and 2 assets before they made the swap to unreal) so honestly it's not like they can't start giving more console games a go since going forward they'll be cheaper to make. Not to mention all the expensive stuff they'll have made for KH4. Honestly I feel like fans would be okay with a few rushed "okay" kh games more often if it means pushing the story forward, and it keeps fans happy while waiting for mainline games. I respect the Devs and the countless hours they put in for us but it feels like the higher ups at square and Nomura to an extent aren't taking the route that actually gets them more profit. Either way it feels like they take longer between releases then they could otherwise

This was awesome! At least for me but..I kinda feel that Sora might be an "infinite adevnturer" meaning he can travel anywhere, whenever, as mentioned he has "endless options", he might never have a proper place/home, he can never stay forever in one place as the price for using the power of awakening (?) or whatever he had to do during KH3 to bring everyone back. He actually messed up the time and space and now he's body can or very own existence is lost in time and space hence giving him the ability to travel worlds but can never return or might be hard for him to return - most specially when that black hooded guy whoever he is said that leaving Quadratum doesn't mean he'll get to return to his original world.
That would be an interesting theory actually, I like it at least. I am intrigued as well to the fact thay strelitzia said that word was like an afterworld, for them but not for the people living there originally. From the people reaction I am pretty sure heartless appearing there is a new occurrence and was probably caused by organization, wonder why though.
@@hugoruela9226 Yes, that thing that Strelitzia said that Quadratum is the "afterlife" for them... If you'll think about it, Strelitzia is already dead (I think based on what had happened in the past) and those who are lost in time and space as well will be brought to Quadratum, it's like a rest stop. I think the Final world is more like an access to different dimensions/multiverses, so in order for Sora to go back in there another sacrifice/price is needed...and it will be hard this time around, I think he has to have an access to the final world to return to his original world...but that is something beyond his control now I think if we will based to what the dark hooded guy said about him not returning to the original world even if he does leave Quadratum. There are a lot of possibilities, this "isekai" thing - meaning transferring to other worlds, it's too broad. And I wonder what kind of timeline he is in, since from the ReMind it's already been a year since Sora disappeared, and then Strelitzia mentioned that Sora arrived in Quadratum 7 days ago and all this time he was asleep but based on his design he looks older or is it the way he "blends in" at Quadratum. Another thing, where is Yozora though hehe, if I remember correctly he was watching Riku...Is Riku's Quadratum and Sora's Quadratum the same... or it's a multiverse where Sora might be Yozora in the Quadratum he is in with Strelitzia and since Sora has messed up with time and space, it's doing it to him as well, messing him, his personality, his own existense. (Wayy too complicated though hahaha - but that's what it meant when you mess up with time and space)
If I can piggy back off this theory, and we get an atlantis and/or treasure planet world, sora and co, search for the “treasures” of each disney world looking for a way to return home.
@@zephyrias Thanks hehe, I kinda got the idea from watching too much anime. Some japanese anime are kinda similar to what KH has. The state that Strelitzia and Sora are now is pretty much the same with Angel Beats (In that anime, they are in a world where there is life, normal living, like nothing is wrong but for the main protogonist they considered it as the afterlife because they already died in their own world, they were there before getting reincarnated back to their original worlds.) And also, no matter what kind of "platform"/"surface" you are in, once someone messed up with time and space it will literally have an exchange that is either equal or more to what has been altered or change. Sora did something unthinkable, to other stories that I have watched which deals with time and space - they actually have to give their very own existence to do that because they are no longer "part" or they are no longer "someone" who is acknowleged to be there at that time and space.

Okay, this series has to have a steam announcement this year, we've waited long enough. This game is literally my childhood and played it non-stop since the first one
3 was a bit lackluster for me for several reasons but overall it was interesting. They added some new features like keybladd transformations and the gameplay got more dynamic. Story wise could have been tied way better but wasn't bad overall. Hope you have as much of a Blasy with the games as I did when I played them.

6:10 Dark Inferno's design from KH 3 itself was more a ramp-up design of Invincible from KH 1, and with additional lore of it was Ven's Darkness. Looks like we'll get a further insight of Invincible Heartless type in KH 4.

When you compare that to the first two games, where Hades had clouds soul, monstro was a space while flying around the cosmos, King triton was aware of other worlds, the Dalmatians being lost around the universe, it felt so isolated. As though they were afraid to mix the two the way they did before.
I also thought we were going to see more stitch cameos in the main worlds (like in KH2).
I agree. It would be wonderful if we could experience KH1's feel and atmosphere again. The sense of urgency and mystery, and of course the interconnected story.
This was my issue with KH3's plot. The Disney worlds almost felt like irrelevant padding. It also didn't help that the game gave you the best Disney world at the start with Hercules' world and then the rest of the world's were pretty hit and miss if you didn't much care for the nostalgia bait within them.
My other issue with the game is that they could have done with a little less of the flashy summons and situation commands that made combat encounters way too easy. And way too easy is an understatement. Instead I hope they give a bit more focus on the combos, weight, movement and combat variety of Sora's moveset and refine the core combat a bit more. Make it accessible for new players but also increase the skill ceiling for those who enjoy complex combat. I'm on the side of the fanbase that thinks KH2/KH2FM was the peak of the series gameplay wise. I could do without the situation commands and go back to the simpler reaction commands system but I think SE might just refine the situation commands and the RNG with them so it doesn't make things too easy this time around. Here's hoping.
Olympus, Toy Box, Kingdom of Corona and The Caribbean all connected to the story tho in various ways.
Olympus is searching for a way to return Sora's power, Toy Box is heavily connected to Quadratum, Corona features Marluxia and sets up stuff with the New 7 Hearts, and The Caribbean hints for the first time that Luxord and Vexen may have their own motives.
The worlds in KH3 were just as connected to the main plot as any other game.
Or us wondering if Auron in KH2 was the same man from the actual FFX universe I hope we get some little details like that again in KH4.
Exactly I feel like Kingdom Hearts 4 will be a fresh slate almost like a soft reboot of the series so they can keep some connections from the last games, but strive out on its own to make a actually solid planned out good arc
The art shift for Quaratum is PHENOMENAL. It looks sooo realistic and even better than I thought... WOW

It's already my favorite game and it's not even out yet. Sora is looking so crisp and clean. Seeing Strelitzia was a welcome addition. As a 34 year old man, I felt like a kid again waking up to this.

It's just another case of square jumping the gun and announcing their game too early. But to be fair it won't take nearly as long as 3 since they have kh3's engine to work from, plus all the assets from that they can reuse. I doubt it would be any longer than 2025-26.

i love how sora's kh4 outfit is very similar to his supergroupies outfit. i think the rest of the characters with have similar designs from that collab in quadratum
Holy moly I'd remember playing KH1 and KH2 on PS2 just thinking why are the intro and ending cut scenes are so beautiful but now it's incorporated into the entire game?!
A couple interesting gameplay features I noticed:
If you look over Sora's MP bar, he has an "EX" gauge that looks similar to the Focus gauge.
And, more interestingly, in the command menu, the bottom option (which is always different in each KH game) is "Build." So, go figure what that could be about.

Im blown away. I think the new style is gonna take some getting used to but the animations and abilities so far look really cool i wonder what the new mechanics are gonna be it seemingly looks like at least in some form keyblade transformations are still a thing but looks so more refined. Also you can really see just how much sora has lost in a sense with how it looks like flow motion looks in this world it looks more like parcore with him using his keychain to help spiderman along to certain places. Cant wait til we get more info and trailers.
Keyblade transformations seem to look more BBBesque! Very armor like and not too cartoony. It's almost like an ode to all the OG KH players in my opinion.

Well the last command in the menu says "build", which makes me think of constructs (like green lantern type light constructs). The drill also looks less like a transformation and more like a construct, so creating really crazy objects in battle might be one of the new mechanics

The trailer looks like a very early dev build, like that first one of KH3 we got with KH2 Sora in Twilight Town fighting the Demon Tide. Still, looking like a pretty wild and phenomenal change in direction. KH has changed quite a lot since the original game in 2001 (/2002). I don't think a player of the original release could have ever anticipated this turn.
Curious to see how this will turn out, for sure.

I just thought this out: the reason why the best stories are usually for mobile and handheld consoles is not because they dont like making good stories, but because a full console title gives little freedom to spread the story as they want, something that they can do when the game is "cheaper" to make. I dunno if it makes sense.
Yeah I know what you mean mate, the cheap games probably don't profit as much as the mainline games but it's keeping them going and helping the budget for the mainline games go up. But the thing is, with KH3 in unreal engine they already have so many high quality assets now they can reuse for years to come (like they were doing with KH1 and 2 assets before they made the swap to unreal) so honestly it's not like they can't start giving more console games a go since going forward they'll be cheaper to make. Not to mention all the expensive stuff they'll have made for KH4. Honestly I feel like fans would be okay with a few rushed "okay" kh games more often if it means pushing the story forward, and it keeps fans happy while waiting for mainline games. I respect the Devs and the countless hours they put in for us but it feels like the higher ups at square and Nomura to an extent aren't taking the route that actually gets them more profit. Either way it feels like they take longer between releases then they could otherwise

This was awesome! At least for me but..I kinda feel that Sora might be an "infinite adevnturer" meaning he can travel anywhere, whenever, as mentioned he has "endless options", he might never have a proper place/home, he can never stay forever in one place as the price for using the power of awakening (?) or whatever he had to do during KH3 to bring everyone back. He actually messed up the time and space and now he's body can or very own existence is lost in time and space hence giving him the ability to travel worlds but can never return or might be hard for him to return - most specially when that black hooded guy whoever he is said that leaving Quadratum doesn't mean he'll get to return to his original world.
That would be an interesting theory actually, I like it at least. I am intrigued as well to the fact thay strelitzia said that word was like an afterworld, for them but not for the people living there originally. From the people reaction I am pretty sure heartless appearing there is a new occurrence and was probably caused by organization, wonder why though.
@@hugoruela9226 Yes, that thing that Strelitzia said that Quadratum is the "afterlife" for them... If you'll think about it, Strelitzia is already dead (I think based on what had happened in the past) and those who are lost in time and space as well will be brought to Quadratum, it's like a rest stop. I think the Final world is more like an access to different dimensions/multiverses, so in order for Sora to go back in there another sacrifice/price is needed...and it will be hard this time around, I think he has to have an access to the final world to return to his original world...but that is something beyond his control now I think if we will based to what the dark hooded guy said about him not returning to the original world even if he does leave Quadratum. There are a lot of possibilities, this "isekai" thing - meaning transferring to other worlds, it's too broad. And I wonder what kind of timeline he is in, since from the ReMind it's already been a year since Sora disappeared, and then Strelitzia mentioned that Sora arrived in Quadratum 7 days ago and all this time he was asleep but based on his design he looks older or is it the way he "blends in" at Quadratum. Another thing, where is Yozora though hehe, if I remember correctly he was watching Riku...Is Riku's Quadratum and Sora's Quadratum the same... or it's a multiverse where Sora might be Yozora in the Quadratum he is in with Strelitzia and since Sora has messed up with time and space, it's doing it to him as well, messing him, his personality, his own existense. (Wayy too complicated though hahaha - but that's what it meant when you mess up with time and space)
If I can piggy back off this theory, and we get an atlantis and/or treasure planet world, sora and co, search for the “treasures” of each disney world looking for a way to return home.

@@zephyrias Thanks hehe, I kinda got the idea from watching too much anime. Some japanese anime are kinda similar to what KH has. The state that Strelitzia and Sora are now is pretty much the same with Angel Beats (In that anime, they are in a world where there is life, normal living, like nothing is wrong but for the main protogonist they considered it as the afterlife because they already died in their own world, they were there before getting reincarnated back to their original worlds.) And also, no matter what kind of "platform"/"surface" you are in, once someone messed up with time and space it will literally have an exchange that is either equal or more to what has been altered or change. Sora did something unthinkable, to other stories that I have watched which deals with time and space - they actually have to give their very own existence to do that because they are no longer "part" or they are no longer "someone" who is acknowleged to be there at that time and space.
Sora looks so good in Kingdom Hearts IV/4 he look like between Cloud, Tidus and Noctis with that realistic look even the hairstyle and outfit.

I couldn't be so happy to be a Kingdom Hearts fan. Was first a watcher now playing the games for the first time. Guess I better binge 3
3 was a bit lackluster for me for several reasons but overall it was interesting. They added some new features like keybladd transformations and the gameplay got more dynamic. Story wise could have been tied way better but wasn't bad overall. Hope you have as much of a Blasy with the games as I did when I played them.
