Landler

Apresentação da dança Landler pelo Bohmerlandtanzgruppe no Baile de Escolha da Rainha do Folclore em Nova Petrópolis. Landler era uma dança folclórica muito conhecida no sul da Alemanha, Áustria e Suiça no século 18. Ganhou fama por ter sido interpretada no filme A noviça rebelde em 1965.

So class and dignified, well civilized, yet they seemed happy, not stuffy. The men could not have been too drunk seems like you would have to have you thinking cap on to do this dance. TY

Much too slow....but loved watching this. Reminded me of a wonderful time spent in Baden bei Wien, many years ago.

Never heard a landler done so slowly. It should be bright, sprightly dance. It's an Austrian folk dance

Is it me or are the dancing couples just dragging themselves? My mother (born in Bavaria but grew up near the Dolomite Mountains before that part of Austria was given to Italy in 1927) taught me the laendler over 60 years ago and it seems we had a little more zip into our steps but maintained the dignity and grace of the dance. I know what ... we'll just blame it on the slowest musician in the orchestra. Yeah, that works (laughing). Funny thing though ... when the family vacationed there in 1981, very little Italian was spoken; most of the villagers still speak their old Bayarische-Oesterich dialect of German.

The men's costumes are lovely but the ladies look like Eskimos. They must be sweating like crazy. Too bad the bulky costumes detract from the beautiful dance. They can hardly move, it's not a good combination.

Slow and heavy. Costumes are not appropriate and music is out of tune and tempo. Stop stepping on the poor floor so heavily, please.
