    Man if I still had my Mamiya I would do this in a heart beat. Such amazing results!! Love seeing the flash shots of the skater!

    I have recently used a Zeiss Super Ikonta 532/16 to shoot Instax Square similarly

    lovely to see some off-camera-flash rendered on the Instax.

    I find there to be a little bit of irony taking a photo of Fa-100c on a instax sheet. Just a little

      Burnt Out Electronics lol. I could see why you would say that. Shooting fp100c always felt silly with a Mamiya though cause it doesn’t fill the entire frame. Rather shoot fp100c in a land camera or 4x5 camera

      Same. But you can get 2x3 sheet film holders to do this

    I used this on a baby graflex camera alot. One thing I learned is you have a very short window between taking the shot and processing it. Like if you wait one hour or so to develop you end up with only some pigments showing. That holds the same for bw instax aswell. But sure is fun to use and the results are super fun. Dont forget to mask your groundglass for accurate framing! Super fun! Highly recomended!

      António Tomás luckily with the RB67, it pretty much matches the crop marks on the focusing screen. I’ve let the shots sit in the holder for days after exposure without any bad effects

    • @DavesFilmLab

      If you had a packfilm holder you could probably get a cropped instax wide from it by loading it (one shot) into an empty pack film cassette

    do you think something like this is possible with the mamiya 645? i know the image will be smaller but would the instax film fit ?

    • @DavesFilmLab
      @DavesFilmLab  4 роки тому

      Prometheus3231 No idea, you’ll have to test for yourself. I kinda doubt it due to the size of most of the 645 cameras I’ve used, but hey.... prove me wrong on that one! ;)

    is it possible to do the same thing but in a 6x4.5

    • @DavesFilmLab
      @DavesFilmLab  6 років тому +1

      It's possible in any camera that will fit the film. That said... a lot of cameras are too small or tight, like hasselblads, bronica, etc.

  • @jonathanvega8261
    @jonathanvega8261 6 років тому +1

    Im confused is this supposed to give you better imaged?

    • @DavesFilmLab
      @DavesFilmLab  6 років тому +3

      Yes, for instax mini film.... this yields a much higher quality image and allows the use of strobes, long exposure. etc.

  • @ginovairo6487
    @ginovairo6487 4 роки тому

    Brilliant! Hmmm......can I do this with a hasselblad 500?

    • @DavesFilmLab

      Gino Vairo easiest way would be via a pack film holder

    • @DavesFilmLab
      @DavesFilmLab  4 роки тому +1

      Gino Vairo suppose I should have written more. You’ll have to shoot it in a pack film back for your camera, using the actual pack film cassette or whatever you want to call it, as a holder for instax wide film. but it should ideally just pop into place in the pack film plastic housing and be able to be developed after the fact In an instax wide camera.

    • @ginovairo6487

      Dave Rollans Films Dave Rollans Films thanks Dave. Ok I have a couple of Polaroid backs for my Hasselblad that were designed for 100 pack film. So, what you are saying is for example use a Fuji FP100 empty pack shell (which I have) to hold the single sheet of instax film and load into the Polaroid back for shooting. Will I need to make a frame of some sort to hold the instax flat or should it sit flat in the Fuji housing ok? Cheers mate!

    • @DavesFilmLab
      @DavesFilmLab  4 роки тому +1

      Gino Vairo You’ll have to mess with it a little to get it to work. Remember that instax exposes from the back side and that the chemical pod needs to not break in the process. At PolaCon in Texas, we tested this and shot instax in a polaroid land camera

    • @ginovairo6487
      @ginovairo6487 4 роки тому

      Dave Rollans Films ok, thanks. I’ll give it a go and let you know how I get on. Cheers.

    Could the same result not be achieved by taking Instax photos of prints from the RB?

    • @DavesFilmLab
      @DavesFilmLab  5 років тому

      Nelson Club Sure, or just get one of the digital printers. The point of this is to be able to achieve a test shot on site using the actual camera. I do this with my 4x5 and instax wide now that pack film is so sparse and expensive

    • @nelsonclub7722
      @nelsonclub7722 5 років тому

      @@DavesFilmLab Hey I was kidding - I use a Fuji GX680 EXCLUSIVELY with FP Polaroid - its expensive - every shot I take costs 10 pounds - I then have a choice - I get a print, I get a neg, I can digitise it, get it scanned - re photograph it, anything? - it's superb - so long as we are all having fun and doing what we love who cares right?

    • @nelsonclub7722
      @nelsonclub7722 5 років тому

      @@DavesFilmLab In other news - it is clear that both Fuji and Polaroid - under the stewardship of none other than Lady Ga Ga - yes really - have no desire to make pack films - what we need is some bright spark to design an 'instax' back with rollers etc that would fit all the MF Polaroid style backs out there - I would sign up for that Indiegogo/Kickstarter etc in a heartbeat - love your channel - its ace
