It seems like Newar snacks and dishes have a lot of similarities with Chinese food and Korean food. I was watching this Korean variety show where they explored Newa food in Kathmandu, and the hosts talked about Wo/Bara (mung bean or other lentil pancake/patty with eggs or meat), gizzard and tripe and they said these were just like the dishes they have in Korea. I was surprised because I didn't consider these similarities before but it makes sense because the Newa community is an amalgamation of North Indian and Tibeto-Burman ethnicities and Newa people frequently traded with India and Tibet in the past. Laakhamari is probably another one of those snacks.
If you are talking about battle trips yaa I've watched it and I had the same reaction. Korea has so many similar food to Newari foods? Sad it didn't win

I have lived in China for 9 years, I love China and Chinese food but those Chinese snacks are awful, specially the century old duck eggs, they are no match to Nepalese buff sukuti. If you have Stinky Doufu in China, it literally stinks from a kilometer away but they are very tasty, the one showed in this video doesn’t look that good though. There are lot of other Chinese snacks that are delicious, you should go to China to have them.
