Girrrrrl. These are a staple in a Mexican household on Sunday's!! We'd eat these with a cup of Abuelita cocoa....if you could make some Atole de arroz I'd appreciate it
Omg my favorites! Thank you for this. I’m gonna look like a marranito for 2021 because this is all my diet will consist of for this up coming winter 😫😫🙌🏾🙌🏾
Maranitos!!! 😭 You've brought back so many memories when I use to work at my Dad's panaderia. My dad was from Mexico, so all ingredients came from a small book that held ingredients of all his creations. Our work ethic was always on point! Which I loved!💗 Your recipe is almost the same. My job was placing each cut-out maranito on the pans, and brushing the egg on top of each. There was always a routine for each type of pan Mexicano created by my dad. I have one of his maranito-shape cutter he used. Each mold used to cut were made personally by my dad. Just letting you know watching this video brought my mom, and I, to tears. 😭 Thank you for sharing you art of cooking and baking. We are always watching.💗💗💗💗💗
My boyfriend loved them, and my mother said they tasted just like the panderia!! 😁😁 I followed the recipe except.... I used almond milk, no anise, and 2 tablespoons of vanilla extract. I did have to add a couple more tablespoons of flour after it was fully mixed.
Wow thank you sharing your recipe they look delicious and I love marranitos ..,I love their unique chewy gingerbread like taste .. they look so easy to make yay
Oh I love these! My grandpa would but them and put them I his truck and on Saturday mornings we would go out and "help" him, by devouring these. Brings back good memories and I will be making some!!
O wow. This is my first time hearing or seeing this. I love to try out intercontinental dishes, will definitely give this a try. Thanks for sharing mama
I was so excited to try this recipe and thanks to your links I could finally buy my marinto cutter. But mine came out dry. I'm a semi experienced baker so I definitely need to tweak to make them just a touch softer. Flavor was spot on! I used anise extract instead of ground. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. It's going into my recipe folder! Oh and if you have any suggestions to make them a little softer I'm all ears lol.
Molasses cookies were always one of my gramma’s best! I have her recipe and their has to be something she left out as they don’t taste the same as hers did. I’m going to try adding the Anise and see if that works!! She always made them round and I either have a round cutter, Christmas cutters, gingerbread men and dog biscuits lol! No piggies!
I was looking for someone in the comments to call them that! I've always seen people call them Marranitos (piglets) but my Mom always called them Cochitos (little pig) that's what I've known them by the most growing up, we're from Arizona too.
Thanks for this recipe. It's my favorite bread to eat and my son's as well. Got my dough in the fridge as I type this. My hubby and son are literally counting down the time til I bake them. Lol
I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!! Just crying! Congratulations on your new book!!!!!!🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 I will purchase after my next paycheck! Sending you and your family so much Love!!!!
Wednesday I'm flying to California to visit my mother. One of our favorite things to do is share a Marranito from the local bakery with coffee in the afternoon. Thanks so much for the video. I will add these to my Christmas cookie list.
Never been a fan of marranitos because I never liked that strong nutmeg/ginger/anise flavor. Well I discovered a bakery here in San Antonio, Delicia's, that has such a mild flavor. I love them!!
My favorite pan dulce! I recently moved to Washington State, ( the pan dulce here is so hard to find) and my granddaughter sends me some from Southern California...I’m making these. Thank you...I am in marranito heaven!
In Bellingham WA, there’s a little Mexican market, similar to the one where we shopped in South Tucson for many years. Has a great butcher shop counter too. MI RANCHITO
Ohhh looks delicious! I have been living abroad for awhile and I’m longing for some pan dulce esp cochinotos. We don’t have piloncillo here so I’ll have to improvise. Muchas gracias!!!
When I was young I always got the "piggy". It was sooooooooooooo good. Every now and then I find them and get one. I might make them now that you have us the recipe. Thank you ☺️
If you've never had them, I would like to suggest that you try your hand and make them. They are traditionally eaten in the morning after breakfast or as a breakfast on their own with a cup of coffee with milk. I personally love them most with a cup of hot tea. They are something like a mild gingerbread cookie.
I love that you use every bit of your ingredients... it drivers me "stir crazy" when cooks measure out or mention the approx amount, yet leave some or most in the bowl, measuring cups, spoons ect... why bother with the measurements... just record how much is acceptable to waste... instead.
My favorite since I was a little girl and the youngest in the family. They always saved it for me! I am 70 now, still love them with my coffee!
We used to fight over the piggy when my dad brought pan home. Haaaa I’m going to make
Girrrrrl. These are a staple in a Mexican household on Sunday's!! We'd eat these with a cup of Abuelita cocoa....if you could make some Atole de arroz I'd appreciate it
I love atole and the abuelitas cocoa. The straight smells of East L. A. On Sunday morning.
what part of mexico because I have never heard of these.
@@reflexionesdelabiblia6711 maybe they're more common in Mexican- American households than Mexico. But very common in panaderias here
Omg my favorites! Thank you for this. I’m gonna look like a marranito for 2021 because this is all my diet will consist of for this up coming winter 😫😫🙌🏾🙌🏾
That's the problem with marranitos. You eat too many and you start to look like one!
My favorite.
😆
Werk sis we’re twinning
One of my favorites! I like that they are not overly sweet, and are delicious with a cup of hot black coffee.
Yes, I must agree
Guess I’ll need to add sugar.
