Nice little shop!! Something to think about, maybe add a lean to on the side, or the back. Get that little air compressor out of the shop, the shelving and the office... You'll have a lot more room😎
What is the overhang on the eaves?does a 40x60 gives you 38x58 interior? I signed up a with ufa for a 40x56x14 with 16 inch overhang. It will be up in May.
That's my dream shop, we have out grown out shop 10 yrs ago. Your place would be perfect for me. I may copy layout of your shop. Like the rear door location. That's for the video
Nice shop, just the size I would like to have. Did you use a local contractor or a bigger company? Im in BC and looking to get one built for around what you paid. Some quotes I have gotten were substantially higher. 100k for building, concrete slab and electrical sounds more reasonable. Thank you
Sweet shop I'm so jealous Can you give a ball park the cost? , not what you paid but just a range including concrete, and if you'd rather not I'm ok with that . I know I can't afford it and when I can it will probably be double the cost.
Just so our Americans friends don't fall over the cost in Canada compared to the USA is about 30% more due to our higher taxes and the exchange rate between CND and USD. It's around 100G for the building, concrete, and electrical depending on how many doors and windows you want.
100G ?? Am I missing something ?? I just priced a 40x64x16 finished out just like this one with R19 insulation in the walls and R38 blown in insulation in the ceiling, with 6 inches of concrete. 2 overhead doors, 1 is 12x15 and he other is 24x15 with a LB White Classic forced air heater. 20 foot concrete pads in front of both doors. 1 walk in door and 3 windows all for just under $69,000 ??@@AlbertaRanch
Yes, they don't like wood burners. Has to be installed by a WETT certified tech. Some insurance companies won't insure a building with a wood burner. redsealinspection.ca/wett-services/

Great looking shop, not-dad. :-) Several great ideas I just might replicate in my upcoming pole barn build. Thank you for sharing.
mst5632 thank you, hope the build goes well.
Nice. As great as your property looks. Real nice.
Thank you!
I was looking at a pole building for my cows and tractor storage.
Been happy with this one so far.

I'm not sure, l believe the 40 by 60 would be the outside dimensions of the walls

Your welcome. That's the nice thing about youtube, you can see many different plans from many different places.
Have you found anything you would have done differently now?
Mezzanine over the work shop area. That's about it.

well that space filled up fast!
Ted Kahler, it certainly did.

UFA uses their own contractor. All they do is build for UFA. I then hired contractors for concrete, electrical, and heat.
@@AlbertaRanch Ok. Thank you. I'm in Armstrong and my quote for just the shell was 88k
It's a beauty.
Thanks, still very happy with it.
How warm can you get it with the wood stove ?
It will keep the furnace from running after a few hours.

Beautiful building my friend how tall is it I'm building a 40x40x16.
Thanks, 16 high.
@@AlbertaRanch Thank you beautiful building.
Real nice shop
Paul Wagner, thank you, really appreciate having it this winter
awesome building
Thanks
nice 👋
Thanks for the visit
Do you keep the shop heated all winter? How much propane have you been using?
Yes it's heated all winter, wood and propane, not sure how much propane as we share one tank with the house. We keep the temperature around 40 F.
does the wood stove affect your insurance?

How much? Cost
Nice shop dad 👍🏻
I have a daughter??
Can you do a equipment tour
Ben Haggard, not much to see, add an old haybine, rake, and a couple of trailers :)
Holy crap that shop is heaven in a nutshell
LOL thanks, you need to look around youtube some more, this is pretty basic. With the weather we're having I'm certainly appreciating it this week.
Yeah but it's heated and fairly roomy were your at heat in the winter time is almost essential lol!!!!
You already need a Bigger Shop!
Na, I just need less stuff.
You got those high ceilings. You could make a nice big loft for storage!
@@Eagler17 ua-cam.com/video/NNH6IHaw7qA/v-deo.html
Are you happy with the size or would you have gone bigger
I would not have gone bigger unless we made two sides, one heated, one cold storage.
Go as big as possible , can never have too much space. Use radiant floor to lower heating costs . Check out my videos on tips
That looks Awesome... I wish we would have used cladding inside, instead of osb!!
Thanks, I thought about osb inside, eaiser to hang things on the wall, but decided against and dont plan to poke any holes in the metal.
yea, osb cost more most of the time depending on the area you live in !
Awesome
Nice shop I need a larger door
What did something like this building cost you to build do build please comment back thank you for this video
100K CDN or 70K USD
@@AlbertaRanch The only thing that I would do different is put heated floors That is the only thing I would do different and put a bathroom in it
@@AlbertaRanch And I would also put a pit and drains in there

What R value do you have for insulation?
R20 in the walls and R40 in the ceiling.
Thanks
Beautiful shop. My theory is bars are red, tractors are green.
Jerry Snavely LOL, with green tractors I couldn't afford a shop.
Yeah, your red barn and shop is much bigger than mine, but then I just have little tractors.
If it ain't red you best keep it in the shed.... nice shop I dont see a heater in it though
@@AlbertaRanch ain't that the Truth!!!!
@@tdgreenbay there's a forced air furnace and a wood burner in it.
