Your Dad is a you tube treasure, I love listening to him talk & explain the whys of why he did something the way he did. He is a great teacher! Happy Fathers Day!
Your Dad would make one heck of an Ag teacher or shop teacher. His delivery is awesome. Love how you guys always think everything through. Reallly nice organized shop.
I have made comments about your father before. I can’t help but to be so proud to share a country with your family. Your family is the definition of what makes our country productive, responsible and constructive to society. Such a discipline to success is something to emulated for everyone. Cheers from an electrician from pennsy.
We live 2 hrs from the nearest town ,my shop on our ranch is supplied better than most hardware stores, welders, stick, mig, rig, cutting torches, spare acetylene, oxygen bottles, hand tools, chain saws, spare chains,a trip to town ,going shopping drive back ,uses a day,be prepared 👍
I just built a 48×32 with a 48×14 enclosed lean-to. With the cement floor and two insulated garage doors. It was almost $70,000. It seems when ever I go to do something the prices skyrocket and that's what happened to the price of lumber. But I'm glad I have it. I have been thinking about switching to the outside boiler for heating. I think the government will use the insurance companies to attempt to ban wood heat. If the furnace is outside they can't say much about it. I think I will regret not putting the lines in the cement but I was at the end of my budget and would have liked to have added ten feet to my barn as it was. You are a very creative man, a lot like my dad, and very kind and quiet natured. My hat is off to you.
Awesome video! Your father is hands-down one of the top 10 coolest people on UA-cam. I'm a heavy equipment mechanic by trade so a well set up shop is right up my alley, and I could listen to your dad talk about stuff for hours.. what a cool guy! He definitely knows what he's talking about too
What a great shop. Papa Gierok has a great mind,I think he had everything covered when he designed, and laid things out. I'm a retired dairy farmer in SW Wisconsin, our dairies are similar other than I had silos and a bunk feeder. Also my land isn't as steep. I have some rolling fields but not that steep. I've watched several of your videos, you folks are doing a great job. Looking forward to seeing more. Stay safe
I really like the way your dad thinks things out before doing them. Too many people go off half cocked and then wonder why they have so many problems. Common sense is quickly becoming a lost trait in today's world. Another great video!!!!! 👍
I bet your dad laid awake a lot of nights thinking this shop project thru and thru. He sure covered all the bases and it turned out to be a project that you and your dad can be proud of.
I really appreciate your father incorporating artistry into the construction projects around the farm. It adds character, charm, flavor, whatever other adjective you can come up with. In other words its not a boring farm.
Being a diesel mechanic for over 40 years, I can appreciate the value of a good shop, and having a sloped floor is a plus, as long as you don't keep rolling down hill on your creeper......LOL. 😉
Wisconsin Dairy Farmers Are the best in country. You guys are one of the best examples. Dad is one smart Dude all around . Very detailed in every aspect. Glad you guys keep family heritage alive . Thanks 🇺🇲🐄🐂👍
I have commented different times on how you fellows could handle your chores more efficiently, but when it comes to this shop dad has been a genius of design and efficiency.
Well done, you are obviously a very intelligent man who has given a lot of thought to everything you do, subsequently very few mistakes and very little unnecessary work 👍👏
I was just trying to think how old your Dad is? My guess that he is around 60 years old? Hopefully in a few years your Dad can start to retire or cut back on the daily choirs? But anyway, yeah, your Dad is quite a guy! He sure has a lot of knowledge to share. I can sure relate to his life long history! If you keep posting, I'll keep watching!
Great tour, your dad doesn't look like your dad. He could just be an older brother, the years are kind to him. Looking forward to more of your content, the wealth of knowledge that passes down from generations is always useful to know
Thank you for sharing and you kids here have a very good teacher. I wish I would have dad like yours. I learn mydelf every video I watch of yours. Thank you
You guys did a great job fixing up your shop. It looks very cleaned and organized. Very creative idea to put the picture frames on the lower part of the slanted roof between the wood boards, very unique.
Your farm and how you guys do things is pretty much in line with what I say to myself in my mind when the whole “if I had my own farm I would do it this way” line of reasoning comes up;)
You and your family did a wonderful job planning your shop. It is a class AAA shop. Very well planed. I’m sure that there are some things you would change always something different comes in our mind. We have our shop with floor heat. My original farrowing house built in the mid 60’s was hot water heat loved it. The floors were always warm and dry for the pigs. Thank You for your shop tour. 👍
One of the better videos I've seen dealing with shop buildings. The dog liked the warm floor. It's tough dealing with these 70 degree outside temperatures here in Texas. Q Eaglegards...
Very good video and nice shop I really enjoy listening to you father he explains things very well smart man doing all the research on stuff to make all the money he spent worth the money he spent
A floor with that much drop .... I would be just like your Dad. If you had a lot of dirt/mud on the floor it would be so much easier to sweep/hose it out going downhill. We have a quonset shed much like how yours was in 1973, you have given me some great ideas.
Great video!! It must be so nice to have a warm tractor ready to go on a cold cold day!! 🥶 Looks like cats 🐈 and dogs 🐕 like the warm floor too!! Thanks 😊.
I'm new to your channel and just binge watched all of your videos. I love it! Your farm reminds me of my grandparent's farm by Monroe, WI. I spent a lot of time there growing up in the 1970s. I really miss it. I'm so happy to see a family farm like yours. Thank you for sharing!
Good thing your dad has his helper on his lap 🐈⬛ and I wish I would have put in floor heat in my shed but I went with a hanging heater it’s better the working out side! 👍
Great video, as I farm up here in Eau Claire county I can easily relate to all of your videos. They are well edited and very informative. You can always learn something new from another farmer. You could now upgrade your lighting around the shop and farm to LED. Less power and more light. In our Wisconsin climate there is nothing more comfortable than hot water in concrete. Good job guys, keeper going!!
Wonderful shop tour.love the pictures on the ceiling.would be great to hear how your family came to be on this farm .we'll be in Wisconsin for organic valley's annual meeting in April.that's in la crosse is that near your farm?you folks have a beautiful farm and do a great job.best of luck.
Hydronics is forgiving and awsome. Generally 12 in centers 300ft on a zone max. Basic controls. Aqastat feeds thermostat. Put enviromenttly friendly glycol in the system not antifreeze. Theres a ratio. You can add concrete out front and add pex outside in concrete for snow melting.
You have awesome channel, very awesome job on the videos, and as I grow up on small farm I can relate to a lot of you videos, we milked two cows and raised two pigs every fall to butcher, so made our own butter and cottage cheese, and we had a garden so basically everything eat ate come from farm, thanks for sharing sharing what y’all do.
If those strip lights have instant start ballast, you can get t8 led direct fit lamps. Phillips makes a good one. They are about 8 watts each. Also, you can get retrofit corncob lamps for the high bay lights. Probably drop your wattage down to about 400 total. The best part about led is the color variation. The higher kelvin rating the more blue it gets.
I thought it was a family farm passed down. You have done a lot in 30 yrs. Our farm has been in the family 154 yrs. Earliest pictures we have of the house and barn is 1945 on tin type. 8 yrs after MI became a state.

Thank you!
I bet your dad laid awake a lot of nights thinking this shop project thru and thru. He sure covered all the bases and it turned out to be a project that you and your dad can be proud of.
I have never heard so much down to earth common sense in 30 minutes anywhere else. Thanks for the shop insight.
Thank you Roger!
I could listen to your dad all day
Thank you
I really appreciate your father incorporating artistry into the construction projects around the farm. It adds character, charm, flavor, whatever other adjective you can come up with. In other words its not a boring farm.

I like the shop. Your Dad really did his research before committing to converting the old Quonset into the shop.

Nice shop! What I would give for a nice heated shop lol. What got me was how well organized it is and not a lot of crap laying around.
Thank you!
I think you are the first one who has such a tidy and clean shed/workplace. Absolutely impressed how nice and tidy it is.
Greetings from Slovenia
Thank you!

Genius.
I thought it was a family farm passed down. You have done a lot in 30 yrs. Our farm has been in the family 154 yrs. Earliest pictures we have of the house and barn is 1945 on tin type. 8 yrs after MI became a state.
I love it when farms stay in the family!
Great video!!!
Excellent presentation.I just put up a 30x50 quonset.things are so expensive today especially when it comes to finishing, wiring, insulation etc.
Nice shop sir 👍👍
Enjoyable 😉
I’ve done lots of shops of prefab buildings and most that put in radiant heat never complain about it
Where do you guys keep all equipment at I like your Chopper and Chopper wagon and Haybine and 1066 at and equipment for field work at
We have a video coming out in a couple weeks that kind of shows that, stay tuned!
Cool Videos.
I worked at a HVAC company in the 90's. We put in a hydronic system in a 650,000 sq ft building. We used RV antifreeze and the temp was set at 140°F.
I felt it is like standing on a hot plate..
Do you use any solar cells?
Watching in MKE.
Tell me about the red star above the shop door
My mother loves her barn art, it adds a nice touch!
Trempealeau county is not far from our farm
Why can’t you run 180 degree water thru floor?
The heat it give off to make the shop 60 instead of 100
👍👍👍
Thanks
Gierok family I pray u give the LORD Thanksgiving praise for everything have and do because it comes from HIM 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👍👍👍🙂🙂🙂
Thank you God Bless!
Does he know he is the best father?!
18' wide door.. 14' tall??
Front door is 20 ft wide and 14 ft high.
Your dad is about as organized as a guy could possibly be…..with his thoughts and his stuff
Thank you!
So this is the exact kinda guy you plan on staying about another 30 mins after you say "I s'pose". Miss it.
Your Dad has more common sense than a whole group of modern young folks. He should be a life coach.
