This is why My Little Pony was my favorite childhood show growing up because it not only taught me about friendship, but important life lessons that stuck with when I got older.
You forgot to mention A Rockhoof and a Hard Place. In that episode, Rockhoof is trying to find his place while his friends are thriving but he’s not, eventually asking Twilight to turn him into stone. Pretty much acting as an allegory for suicide. The heavy topics FiM’s tackled are very well done. The one I relate to the most is Swi Twi recovering from trauma. I’ve grown up with a narcissist emotionally abusive mother, and just the simple fact that I’ve experienced that makes me feel like I’ll inevitably end up like my mother one day and drive others away from me. But seeing Sci Twi’s journey of overcoming her trauma reminds me that the past doesn’t define me and that I have friends who are willing to support me through.
No Mention of Cutie Map episodes? That one tackled how differences combined can make friendships stronger and not necessarily tear them apart. Otherwise, I like this list, and love that My Little Pony Friendship is Magic is not forgotten and how greatly misjudged it was at first. It truly was much more than "a little girls' show". It took time and effort with its lifelong lessons, reaching out to anyone who was willing to give the show a chance.
I continue to be amazed by the effort they put into those longlife lessons. As a child I always wondered if the lessons never ended, and now I know that in life we never stop learning something new. My congratulations to this show and the effort that was put in by everyone who worked on it
I sure do miss MLP😢 Especially all those adventures with the Mane 6 and Spike🦄✨️🎈🍎⚡️💎🦋🐲 I still wish that Grogar was the overarching antagonist of the show...
@@kbraven7007 I was talking about the other my little pony show that came out after this one but I guess I can kind of see why people hate twilight turning into an hour coin
In the zeppelin episode at least to me it would have been more heartwarming if they added a few extra lines to the Twilight/Cadence scene. Twilight could have said how honored and grateful she was to become a princess but sometimes misses life as regular pony. Cadence could have replied she felt the same when she became a princess but tells twilight they still are like everyone else they just have greater responsibilities. And that they can set boundaries.
Really like the my little pony franchise. Glad that they can show issues around people and mental issues. And I absolutely love the voice acting. Especially Tara Strong and Rebecca Shoichet and Ashleigh Ball. Especially that Rebecca voiced nana Osaki and Ashleigh voiced Layla 'Reira' Serizawa from the anime Nana.
What makes Chancellor Naysay's racism hilarious is he thought the nonponies were gonna use the information about friendship against them and believes friendship should only be for ponies but instead CozyGlow (A PONY) does the thing he was afraid the nonponies were gonna do THE IRONY 🤣
Exactly, Neighsay was so convinced that the Non-pony creatures would pose a threat, that he never once considered the possibility of a pony doing the same thing. But after the Student 6 saved him, Neighsay gained a whole new perspective on things. In fact, it's because of that I like to think that afterwards Neighsay probably gave the school of friendship full EEA accreditation, which would've been the least he could've done.
@@TheCommenterDragon Agreed. Especially considering how the students (five of whom were non ponies) saved his life! Honestly, I got red flags from Cozy Glow on Day 1. She has a CHESS PEICE for a cutie mark, she gets a creepy look in her eyes whenever magic is brought up, and she sounds like the pony version of Darla Dimple. DO THE MATH!!!
It just too sad to see Scootaloo cannot even fly. Even though we’ll all feel so bad for her that she couldn’t get to chance to be the part of Equestria Games without flying. Being teased & bullied by Diamond Tiara & Silver Spoon are like being respectful! In season 9, Scootaloo is all grown up but her wings are still small which is so disappointing for her. All she was doing all the time is riding on her scooter & that’s it.
Likewise. I actually believed Equestria Girls had the potential to keep going if the main series Friendship Is Magic couldn't. There were a few other stories that were written, but were never utilized as animated specials.
First Bluey, now My Little Pony, both of these happen to have storylines that adults can enjoy, more so than kids, like divorce, death, grief, substance abuse and bullying. That is how you write a cartoon to make it enjoyable for all ages. MsMojo, do Avatar The Last Airbender and The Rugrats next. I loved My Little Pony as a kid, but, some of these themes I didn't pick up on until years later. Like the "Inspiration Manifestation" episode being a parody of adults who use substances to drown their sorrows. Obviously, they need to make this kid-friendly, but, under different circumstances, Rarity would be on alcohol or drugs and not some spellbook, and being unable to think straight. Also, does anyone else think, that any time Rarity is on her "fainting couch" chowing down on ice cream, it's a reference to a person using alcohol to calm down? I also didn't pick up on the "divorce theme" in the episode, "Surf 'N Turf" with Terramar's parents, but, now I get it. It's a blatant parody of kids who must choose between two different households. I'm surprised "Ponyville Confidential" didn't make the list though, because the Cutie Mark Crusaders are roped into writing inappropriate gossip about the Ponyville characters. It did remind me of the age of social media today, where you have to careful because people can write mean things about you and share information you may not like. It also reminds me of the effects of journalism in the world, and how, they can write things you may be embarrassed about. I also don't know if this is a serious issues, but in "Dragon Quest", Spike gets roped into doing some bad things with other teenage dragons, before his friends rescue him in the end.
Geez, not even My Little Pony Friendship is Magic or Equestria Girls is safe from serious issues. Heck, we know that Scootaloo has disabilities since she can't fly and Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon made fun of her for that. Also the loss of Applejack, Apple Bloom, and Big Mac's parents is really sad and we don't know how they died.😰🥺
9: I’m kind of glad Twilight wasn’t a Princess in the early seasons, *especially* in Lesson Zero. She went into pure panic mode and had she been a Princess then, I’d imagine things would have been ten times worse. I mean, think about it, if the Want It, Need It Spell was *that* powerful for a stressed out unicorn, it probably would have been *more* powerful for a stressed out alicorn.
Well, it was also surprising for Twilight herself not to know that she would become a princess. And I also like how the episodes of the first seasons showed us Twilight's traits such as her determination, desire to help out, leadership, organization, and humility, characteristics that go with a princess, of course. Well, besides the little meltdowns that she may have had when she was stressed, but that is part of her and she has overcome it somewhat.
Also in the school of friendship episode when Neighsay confronts Twilight it would have added more depth if Neighsay gave specific reasons for not liking the other creatures. For example he would have pointed out how the Changelings attacked cantelot and kidnapped the princess. Then someone (most likely Starlight) would have countered saying that was when Queen Chrysalis was in charge and since Thorax took over they became kinder. It would have been a small lesson about not judging a whole group based on the actions of one.
I've lost my Mainecoon cat name Raccoon in October 25, 2024. It was the most hurtful thing I ever experienced that we had him for 15 years and he died at our home. So this video has made me learned that losing a pet could be painful but deep down the memories you have with him will always be in my heart.
8:38 tell that to Triple H back in 2003 during his rivalry with Booker T. I mean Goldust said it all. at least tried "CAN"T JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S CO-CO-CO-CO-CO-COVER"
The other good thing is Terrimar's parents aren't actually divorced, they simply have their own living preferences. Thankfully, the stone allows him and all other Hippogriffs to go back and forth whenever they like; just like his parents said
You forgot about identity crisis. Where Spike struggles to learn who he is and where he belongs. And not mention masquerade. Where Garble the dragon hides his real identity from his friends and people.
Also, something that isn't explicitly shown in the series or in this video is the fact that Applejack, Big Macintosh and Applebloom are essentially orphans. While not stated by the characters themselves, it is kind of a "word of mouth" thing that the Apple siblings' parents are dead and all they have is Granny Smith to raise them. In "Crusaders of the Lost Mark", Applejack says flat out, "...if mom and dad were here, they'd be so proud o' ya" in a tone that would suggest they've been gone-gone for a long time, and can only see Applebloom get her cutie mark in sprit. Also, the shooting stars shown in "Apple Family Reunion" are supposed to be the spirits of Applejack's parents (I'm pretty sure Lauren Faust said that at one stage). Also, you forgot to mention that the bullying in "One Bad Apple" and "Crusaders of the Lost Mark", respectively, are all three-sided and are not black and white. In the form, Babs Seed start bullying the Crusaders 1) To avoid been picked on herself because she knows what it's like to get bullied for not having something, and 2) Bullying was the only way she knew how to express herself at that moment in time. But, the Crusaders were also no better since they also turned into bullies for a while as well, until the very end when they all made up. The Crusaders also turned into bullies because they were afraid to ask for help. In the latter episode, Diamond Tiara was a bully to the Crusaders because her mother was a bully to her and had thought to think highly of herself and look down on ponies who are not rich, working class families. I think it's great that different MLP episode show that bullying is not one-sided and is a vicious cycle that can take time to break. This is the genius of shows like My Little Pony and Bluey, teaching lessons that resonate with viewers young and old. Also, I was in high school when Equestria Girls: The Legend of Everfree came out, and I totally understood the trauma which Twilight was going through.
They forget about the episode where Rockhoof is trouble finding purpose after being stuck in limbo for 1000 years. The guy was about to turn himself into a statue!
oh thanks for your new video MsMojo, My Little Pony and Equestria Girls were my childhood, I miss them a lot a lot. It's surprising how this show tackled many serious issues in a excellent way
My Little Pony is a great show for people with autism like me! A lot of autistic kids like us have trouble with friendship and this show is a great way for us to learn more! And most of them, I find very relatable. I, myself, also have a traumatic past that is way too painful and emotionally disturbing to talk about! Also, I’m surprised the issue in Perfect Pear wasn’t on the list! And that’s basically the reason why Perfect Pear is the best episode!
Well, well. MsMojo pulled through with a video revolving around a particular show that has long since ended in 2019: Friendship Is Magic! While many of the episodes are lighthearted and displays the importance of friendship, it's not without taking on some topical subjects too!
It's amazing that thanks to Lauren Faust's vision and the massive amount of adults who enjoy My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, the show and Equestria Girls have presented plenty of topics for even the kids to understand as they grow up. And that's one reason why I still love those two to this day! 😁 I think the biggest topic they've covered is grieving for lost ones, as proven in my favourite episode, "The Perfect Pear", which hinted Applejack's parents to be long gone, even though it was more focused on them trying to spend their lives together in a Romeo and Juliet situation. Proves there can be love everywhere and you shouldn't let go of what's important: your family. 🤗 Also, about the topics of bullying and remorse, I'm afraid to say I still hate "One Bad Apple" and "Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?", because they depict you shouldn't get back at bullies and Luna had put everyone in danger with creating the Tantabus herself just to ease her pain of being Nightmare Moon. 😠 But the rest, I gladly appreciate. 🙂👍
This may have already been mentioned on this list or not on any of the episodes of MLP: FiM, but honorable mention also goes to overcoming and/or facing the fear. Can’t remember exactly what episode it was in, unless if it wasn’t even mentioned it was talked about or so. Anyone can have a fear of something and for some never conquered their fear including adults and it is ok even if it doesn’t even make sense to others
Congratulations, My Little Pony on FINALLY Hitting the Toy Hall of Fame ALONG with Transformers & Phase 10! I HOPE G6 Redeems the Franchise As MUCH as G4’s Friendship is Magic & G5 Feature Film A New Generation.
I think this needs to be a top 20 list, there are so many more serious issues this series tackled. I’m not going to list them, mostly because other people have commented about them on this video already. So if anyone is wondering what other serious issuer there are, just read the comments.
The truth is, I love The 2 Most Important Animated Series of The Fourth Generation of My Little Pony and I also love The 2 Most Important Animated Series of The Fifth Generation of My Little Pony, but I think that Both Generations of The 4 Most Important Animated Series of My Little Pony remind me a lot of All The Animated Series of All The Magical Girls, especially The Animated Series of Gravity Falls, The Animated Series of Steven Universe, The Animated Series of Star vs The Forces of Evil, The Animated Series of The Lion Guard, The Animated Series of Ever After High, The Animated Series of DC Super Hero Girls from the year 2019, The Animated Series of DC Super Hero Girls from the year 2015, and finally, but most importantly, also The Animated Series of Tangled The Series.
Any narrow-minded people who say MLP is just a show for little girls and doesn't mean anything are proven wrong by this list alone, and it doesn't even have some of the bigger mature complex lessons MLP tackled.

Why cant either ms or watchmojo make a list of the top 10 times lego ninjago masters of spinjitzu and dragons rising tackle serious issues? Or a list of jokes only adult notice in lego ninjago masters of spinjitzu? Now THOSE would be really good videos to watch
3:02 It’s all Humie Twilight’s fault. None of that would have happened if she didn’t meddled in Sunset and the friends’s secret and exposed theirs to her old school.
This top 10 list proves that after the downfall of G5 what the franchise really needs is a sequel to FIM it would be so great for a new generation of fans to have their own series to watch and follow while learning all these great lessons. We could have Luster Dawn form her own group friends the new Mane 6 to become the next heroes of Equestria and a brand-new villain who will free Tirek Chrysalis and Cozy Glow to try and take over the kingdom.
There's a reason this show went for 9 seasons, had 4 spin-off movies + shorts, AND a theatrical movie. It's phenomenal.

Anyone can have a fear of something and for some never conquered their fear including adults and it is ok even if it doesn’t even make sense to others
Thank you for this, I finally caught a pun in a character's name, and I'm usually really good with catching puns.
Congratulations, My Little Pony on FINALLY Hitting the Toy Hall of Fame ALONG with Transformers & Phase 10! I HOPE G6 Redeems the Franchise As MUCH as G4’s Friendship is Magic & G5 Feature Film A New Generation.
MLP G4 is my most favorite show of all time.
Same
Surprising to see a list on MLP from Ms. Mojo after a while.
Wow I wasn't expecting this video for at least a couple of years considering all the other ideas & request you do
I think this needs to be a top 20 list, there are so many more serious issues this series tackled. I’m not going to list them, mostly because other people have commented about them on this video already. So if anyone is wondering what other serious issuer there are, just read the comments.
If nothing else, the songs are badass
I'm surprised you didn't mention loss of a loved one
This list should be longer, like top 20
Be honest am I the only one who thought of professor Snape when that Chancellor guy showed up lol 8:46
If you're looking for a solid Snape look-alike, check out the episode "Hearths Warming Eve". The professor in the flashback looks just like Snape.
@@heatherduncan5101 I forgot about him
Yeah, while the rest of us thought of Doctor Strange (because of the portal and attire) or Brain (because of the VA). 😏
I have a suggestion. Top 10 My little pony friendship is magic ships.
I Have Always Love “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic & My Little Pony: Equestria Girls” So Much That I Truly Missed Them Indefinitely! :-)
Any narrow-minded people who say MLP is just a show for little girls and doesn't mean anything are proven wrong by this list alone, and it doesn't even have some of the bigger mature complex lessons MLP tackled.
You are so right.
Surprised Starlight's happy cult isn't here lmao
I've been waiting my whole young life for this video!
I miss this show but I got obsessed once I first saw it and binged on stream
Has My Little Pony tackled serious topics from past and present generations?
Nice video. How about Top 10 times She-Ra and the princesses of power tackled serious issues next?

No mention of The Perfect Pear? That episode tackled dealing the loss of a loved one.
And it has William Shatner and Felicia Day as Apple Jack’s late parents
#5 also has some form of tackling self harm as well. Remember, Luna created the Tantabus to punish HERSELF, that's pretty much like self harm
Thanks you so much & happy holidays 😊
Diamond tiara really went too far in a flight to the finish
Thank you for this 🥹
I love my little pony friendship is magic series.💜
Season 5s "The Cutie Map". Your in a cult, call your dad.
What about ponyville confidential?
The last one was the most serious, I would like to see a video about Thomas And Friends tackling serious issues, My Little Pony has a lot of moments that are so sad! 🦄🐴🐎🫏😟😞🥺😢😭🙁☹️😣😩😫😞💔❤️🔥❤️🩹👍
I picking anxious and understanding.
Hi, MsMojo! I just wanna ask if you could give me your permission to send this Top 10 list video to the MLP fan news site Equestria Daily? Thank you!

Yeah. That’s the nickname of the imposter of CHS’s hero.
@ oh ok
❤❤❤
MLP is Goated
Why cant either ms or watchmojo make a list of the top 10 times lego ninjago masters of spinjitzu and dragons rising tackle serious issues? Or a list of jokes only adult notice in lego ninjago masters of spinjitzu? Now THOSE would be really good videos to watch
Twilight is me
Same. I'm more of a Pinkie/Fluttershy fan, but I can 100% relate to Twilight's anxiety problems.
mm I'm more fan of Fluttershy, Twilight, Rarity and Sunset Shimmer
3:02
It’s all Humie Twilight’s fault.
None of that would have happened if she didn’t meddled in Sunset and the friends’s secret and exposed theirs to her old school.
🦄
❤❤ the best
I can relate to Twilight when it comes to Anxious thoughts though I guess all of us can
Very nice.
WOW Interesting

This top 10 list proves that after the downfall of G5 what the franchise really needs is a sequel to FIM it would be so great for a new generation of fans to have their own series to watch and follow while learning all these great lessons. We could have Luster Dawn form her own group friends the new Mane 6 to become the next heroes of Equestria and a brand-new villain who will free Tirek Chrysalis and Cozy Glow to try and take over the kingdom.
Cope harder bro, why don’t you.
This show is 10 times better than the idiotic and overly childish G5
Cope harder bro why don’t you!
Thank you for this 🥹
