Just realized this was a cover but damn, Yvette was the perfect choice to cover this song.
Just found out that this is a cover of an 80s song by brother-sister duo Sophie annd Peter Johnston. Now I want to hear the album they made, if I can find it!
Great version of my brother, Peter Johnston’s, track from the 80s. I only spotted a few chords that don’t sound quite right or at least like Pete’s original song. I have to say I preferred my sister, Sophie, singing it, but then I would say that wouldn’t I! He has written soooo many amazing songs - warms my heart to think of his music reaching more people. Only wish Pete could have reached more folk back in the day.

The Brothertiger I didn't know I needed, but seriously needed. I fucking love this, it's so beautiful. It almost sounds like a new age Sonic R style of song, and I mean that in the absolute best of ways 👍❤️

Sophie and Peter Johnston made such great music in the early 80s. This version certainly does the original track great credit but nobody can replace Sophie's voice.

Your music is amazing! It's what gets me going. I have all your songs in a playlist, which I use for my alarms (and most other listening pleasures). They help wake me up in a good mood and makes me think of the day ahead in a positive way.
I'm so glad your music found me. I'm a veteran with PTSD, so sometimes it's hard to even *think* about going on with my life, let alone one day, but hearing your music brings back good memories of sitting in a camper loft while traveling across the country, listening to Tears for Fears, and seeing all there was to see. The good old days when you could travel anywhere and feel confident you wouldn't need a mask or anything! The days when I was young and blissfully ignorant to the evils of the world, and thought everyone was equal, nobody was any better than anyone else, regardless of social standing, race, religion, political stance, gender identity, skin color, hair type, etc.. It didn't seem [to me] to matter to anyone. It never mattered to me and still doesn't. We were all created under the same big sky, and we all poop, from what I understand.
Excellent feels coming from this song and all the rest of your music. Indie genre has become my favorite genre. 1st it was Haux, then Day Wave, then Small Black. Now it's Brothertiger!!

Cool but musically and vocally it goes in all directions
I'm not crazy about the verses, but that chorus really fucking goes. Also cool to hear Yvette showing off her versatility and dipping her toes into synthpop. She's got such a gorgeous voice. Funny thing is, these lyrics could be from a death metal song.
