WTB time machine so I can go back to November 2008. Seriously though, having quit WoW over a year ago now, hearing this almost literally brought me to tears. WotLK truly was WoW at its best imo.
it's still great though tbh. It's easy to get nostalgic and think the best has passed and maybe it has, but after returning just a few weeks ago after a year away I can tell you, I'm having a blast. My friends and I have all returned and that's what makes the game - the people you play it with. Plenty of great memories still to be made.
When I sat in dalaran and I had this music on my speaker, my beautiful little cat Simba would always come to me and sleep in my knee. God bless your beautiful Soul my beautiful simba miss u so much :(
I played tons of WC3 and Frozen Throne when I was a kid. When I finally got WoW at the start of WotLK and stepped into Dalaran for the first time it blew me away. I'd defended and destroyed it in WC3, but to finally be a part of it, to be in it, was something special. Listening to this again gave me the exact same feeling. Video games are amazing.
Veteran Warcraft gamers will agree: You know Dalaran's history. A city that was heavily damaged during the Second War, completely destroyed during the Third War, although the ruins were later recovered. Then WoW comes and you noticed that a mighty magical barrier doesn't let you enter nor even see into the city, making you wonder what's going on in there. The Lich King attacks and the city disappears, leaving a crater. Finally, your travels in Northrend lead you to visit the city, floating way above that land. You take a portal, and on the other side, you get out to a street and start looking to your surroundings, checking the mighty towers and purple tones everywhere and you just know it: Dalaran rebuilt. All while the music 0:00 starts. Enough to make you shed some tears.
dalaran is such a beautiful city, especially at night. the music... the fact that it's floating above the crystalsong forest... and just the general beauty of it all... it's awesome...
Welcome to Dalaran, such a perfect lag.. err town! Here we have some rules, let us lay them down Don't use trains, dont spam the trade, stay in line And we'll get along fine Dalaran is a perfect place!
hassanReal Did you know they originally planned crystalsong forest to have a full questline involving a civil war between high and blood elves? But Dalaran took so much resources from the servers that they had to cancel the plans... Best capital city though.
+Magic Medic I've always been torn between Dalaran and Shattrath. =| Like, back in WotLK I was like NAH I MISS SHATTRATH. I'd go back to Shattrath and see how empty it was, I cried. Come Cata? I went back to Dalaran one day, saw how empty it was, and pretty much cried with this music, just as I'd done with Shattrath in WotLK. To me, they are both on another level from everything else and they remind us all of a truly special time in WoW's history.
I ABSOLUTELY love this theme. Seriously, it's so relaxing and calming... A lot of memories passing by... I miss the city, quests, raids, and the friends I played with :)
Indescribable feeling. I have quit allot of unhealthy things. But i will never forget those old days. Just checking gear, mounts, wandering...waiting....Epic! Who hasnt played wow, will never get it.
hm... the time... the time you are a horde trying to fly into the alliance territory but get instant demount, the time you go to the barber to get a haircut, the time there were still portals to the cities, the time naxx and ulduar was popular, the time when everyone shows off their dragons near the flying guy, and the time violet hold (Dungeon) in dalaran was popular. Those was the time, the time that will forever be in me, the time...
I rarely get nostalgic but the night elf harp piece (first character, first time hearing WoW music) and this opening of going into Dalaran just always get me. I can't help but not get nostalgic - those were the just finished high school days and your life both in and outside of WoW were at its peak
Seeing Dalaran in the present day shows how resilient we mortals can be. Archimonde destroyed Dalaran yet now it's been rebuilt and restored to its former glory. Take that Burning Legion! You can knock us mortals down but nothing short of death can keep us down.
+M XXX Lol! Yeah man, that lie isn't gonna work. xD Just log on to any high pop server and its filled to the brim with players. It's friggin amazing, alive and well today. With the news of Legion, more and more people are returning. WoW isn't dead, it's rising again. And it's only because Blizzard are finally changing things and revamping systems for the first time in ages. Looking forward to the second peak of WoW.
+Writer Shard LoL, fucking gullible moron. ''We have more devs than ever working on WoW, expect yearly expansions and patches faster than ever!" Is what they have been saying since MoP.... then we had to deal with SoO. They also said back in MoP that the reason for SoO content ''drought'' was due to the fact of having those new devs. But then WoD had abysmal end level content and was absolute garbage at delivering new patches with content. Also, it has been the longest time without anything added in WoW's history.
feelthatfeelifelt Man I'm glad we've lost toxic players like you. Maybe the 5 million is a good thing for WoW. I can actually make friends with people and not spend months arguing with randoms.
Writer Shard One last thing I forgot - LOL ! losing subs is a good thing? good luck playing WoW when this game has 1 mil subs, Blizz is already desperate with 5.
I know it is nostalgia, but I still believe WOTLK had the STRONGEST storyline ever of any expansion....and this music...this music...tears flowing from my eyes.... ;w; Cata was decent (the raids at least) WoD is fun I guess I am playing....but there was something about WOTLK that made you wanna play....and I believe it was the story that held it together. WOTLK writing team needs to come back....give us another good story....R.I.P. Dalaran. You will not be forgotten.....
Samwise Gamgee That was time when you could make friends ingame... now its all about gear score, dps, loot... no more game spirit with soul...I loved Vanilla WoW and I rember it with great big smile no matter how hard was to end raid and no matter if we needed time and to learn tact... we learned together...
Shinobi Boo That's the same thing I tell everyone. Since they implemented the dungeon/raid finder it ruined the MMO experience. Everyone is on their own now, it's not about making friends and going through content together.
I’ll never forget the mysterious priest who asked if I wanted a tour of the city on my first ever visit… he must of just seen my character was walking around completely lost.
I've now become one of those Agitators in Theramore, reminiscing about how things used to be and how it would be nice to revert back to the old days. [Runs up to a random WoW player] "It's good to see you playing WoW with pride, friend. You seem like a sensible Paladin, friend. Do you remember the glory days of WoW, back before Blizzard...."
The good old times, when you could enjoy this city one frame at a time... I really miss those days. It was magical and amazing, an entirely different game from WoW today. Every player has his/her favorite expansion or moment in the game, but those days at the beginning of Wrath are those I remember the fondest. Not even a new Wrath Server can bring back those moments, they will live on only in our memories...
I played during wolk but was like 13, still enjoyed it. Last year I played on Dragonblight, a pserver. Feelings were not the same but seeing and playing the game as an experienced player was cool, had good laughs I'd never have as a newbie, good memories as well, different though.
I've been playing WoW since 2006, and for me WoW is more then a game. And I must say Wrath was truly a great xpack, I mean you had Naxx 25, VoA, OS and Ulduar. Even when I wasn't bored I'd kick it in Dalaran, their was just so much to do then.
I used to go sit in Dalaran and just listen to the music for hours, cause. It took me back to the good ole wotlk days when I used to play with my buddies and our guild.
This music can bring out so many emotions in every person who ever had a piece of Dalaran within them. So many good times with friends and wonderful memories rest in peace in the heart of Dalaran for me, and for many others. The music used to be a sign of such magestic energy, but not, it sounds more like a cry of pain for being forgotten. Dalaran will never be forgotten even after wow folds up, the city and it's treasured memories will always live on in all of us, Cataclysm was named perfect
Wotlk was the far best expansion in WoW... i know many of us miss this, but hey go on private servers and play wotlk. Currently I am playing on Warmane and everything is working Hor,Pit Sauron and Ruby Sanctum will come soon and then ICC. Server Lodraeron lets goo peoplee
I Quit playing WoW after Kung-Fu-Panda came out.. i got to 87 and quit. But every now and again, because i had played since vanilla, i still hear music go off in my head.. it took me forever to remember that the music i was hearing was dalaran..
WOTLK is the best experience of my gaming life. The zones, the lore, everything was perfect. I really feel like that was the peek for WoW. I know a lot of people will argue Vanilla, and I agree that was a close second, but WOTLK was really something special imo.
That's basically why I WANT to pay for a game. Blizzard is not just a trade mark. I just simply trust them, I know if I pay money I can expect great game, music etc etc etc.
I always wondered where I would live if WoW was real. This would probably be the place, warm people, floating city, chilling near the fountain and spending nights watching duelers in the sewers.
ALGALON WAS SENT HERE TO JUDGE THE FATE OF OUR WORLD; HE FOUND A PLANET WHOSE RACES HAVE DEVIATED FROM THE TITANS' BLUEPRINTS, A PLANET WHERE NOT EVERYTHING WENT ACCORDING TO PLAN!
i'm currently not playing wow, but i remember standing in Dalaran for hours, trying to assamble a raid or join a raid, and as we finally had a raid of 20, we would take on the forces and challenges of the raid which we wanted to do. I remember geeting acquianted with new players as we decided to join forces and do some of the daily quests. That were some precious memories which im glad i have had the pleasure to experience and be a part of, good times.
Same here my man. I bow to the old times of WoW. I wipe tears from my eyes from the game that will be no more. Vanilla, BC and WoTLK was awesome. I sit here and listen to these sound tracks and remember those days. May WoW rest peacefully when it ends. What a great fucking game it was.
wotlk....the best game experience ever happened to me. i still pray that one day, blizzard will make a server just for wotlk, like they will do now for classic.. then i will be all yours again....forever.
when you see some people still kicking around deserted places, "Those people" are the people who have a soft and kind heart. The music controls their soul and their soul make their brain travel back to the past bringing up good memories. Those people are people who care about the art of the game, more than rushing up to level 80 and head straight to PVP or without enjoying the musics while questing.
Whenever I'm in Dalaran in Legion, I'll turn off the new music in favour of this. It's just something about it that makes it far superior in almost every way. Dalaran simply won't feel like home without this music.
Oh I miss the days just wandering around the city, going into the sewers and the professions' shops. Can't believe this wonderful city is now like a ghost-town. The music really senses the magic of this city. Just like Shattrath. I also miss looking at the clearway and beautiful skys. (Quit in March)
My wow affair started with the burning crusade. All we have is memories. Best days of my life. Chilling with friends playing epic marathons of wow and getting stoned. Miss them days
Man since I started playing at 11 years old back in WOTLK this music will always be in my heart, just standing in dalaran looking for groups, raids, etc. This music is so damn nostalgic, Blizzard please more!
Dalaran is going to once again become my new hangout. I love this music. I mean the feeling of being in dalaran is overwhelming. Most amazing city in wow, without a doubt.
Its amazing to read the comments here All that love for a fantasy world Blizzard Entertainment rly made something special and someting we old players never forget I cant name a sigel game in this world that feels the same
I miss this area so much.. I quit around the release of cata... I found myself listening to wintergrasp music a few days ago, leading me to this.. I'm dropping a few tears atm as I speak...
ll credit goes to Blizzard for making this master-piece of music and is by far my favourite piece from ALL of the Warcraft universe. I bow to you Russel Brower!
sad to think every time i go here now there are only a few people if any at all.. the music that plays here.. at this moment when i stepped in to this town.. loneliness sunk in.. it no longer lagged my pc.. by the population.. sitting in the under belly waiting for duels.. no one is here.. thats what this song feels like now.. "something that was, and never will be again..."
This brings back memories! Saving up tokens (can't remember exactly what they were now) and racing back to dalaran when I had enough to get another piece of epic gear. Forming a Tree form train on the day before it was changed. Fishing in the fountain. Messing about in bird form and accidentally falling to my death in front of standing players XD
I remember just sitting on a bench in Dal, watching horde and alliance trot by on their riding mounts. I loved the intimacy of dalaran. I loved WotLK. I've never adjusted to cata. Maybe I'm a loser for it but there were some good times in that xpac. Miss it terribly.
I just feel like there was no point in playing after WOTLK, because Arthas was, at least for me, the final boss in the world of warcraft. He was the bastard I'd been waiting for since Warcraft 3. Once he was dead, I had nothing more to play for. WOTLK days were golden. One of the best times of my life
85 and I still have my home set in the inn for horde side. Partially for spirit beast checks but mostly for the music and atmosphere. Favorite city in the entire game.
now that i think about it, you know what WoW needs? Legacy servers, where you could play on previous expansions without having to create another account. now everyone could stop complaining about "oh i wish it was still vanilla" or "god k hate how much they nerfed this in that expansion". plus, not only could people compare expansions easily, but people who havent played older expansions (i personally didn't play until mid-to-late burning crusade) could experience them (and see why everyone says vanilla was the best). then again, people would probably flood the vanilla and WOTLK servers, with most of the normal and other legacy servers being rather barren, and they might update content in the legacy servers to "improve" them, which honestly wouldn't be ALL bad (#paladintalenttreesforvanilla)
Low Voltage Dude u have no idea how much i agree with you, not only they would be rid of the complaints about: god i hate this and that expansion but they would make money out of people playing these servers instead of privates servers.. I wish they would do this i miss WoTlK so much :( Was my favorite time of WoW. And i've played since vanilla beta :P
+Low Voltage (kungfudragon) Of course they would naturally keep trying to encourage people to try the new expansions if what you say became true, and honestly, I think that more people would do so than you know. It is possible to have too much of a good thing, unfortunately, and while most people would go back to previous expansions for nostalgia's sake, they'd eventually get bored with playing the same story over and over again. Eventually all the servers, legacy or not, would balance out and host just enough players to keep it running while still having room for newcomers.
This is my most favorite track by far. Bringing back so many memories. WotLK was by far the best experience I had in WoW. I joined the top 25-man guild on my server and experienced hardcore raiding for the first time. I met a ton of awesome people. Holy Paladins (my main since the beginning) were at their prime. I don't think WoW will ever be the same. I miss WotLK :(
Dalaran rules! When i first visited the city... hearing this music seeing the city itself... it was so amazing... seeing it deserted now these days saddens me this city is wonderful! Once i finish leveling I am heading back to Dalaran and staying there!
Wotlk was, for me, the best wow expansion. It had the most beautifull romantic lore in all of gaming history and the mood of everything in oldschool vanilla wow is amazing. this brings so much nostalgia, that sometimes tears come to my eyes whenever i ear this. it's amazing how they ruined this nostalgia...
10 years. That's what my account will be old next year (2014). I played it all... Done (almost it all). Raided MC, raided BWL when it was launched... AQ, not so much Naxx40 (I admit). I did Karazhan, SSC, TK, Black Temple and (some) of Sunwell.... But WotLK... Ulduar. Was... magical. It was... the golden age. The good times... The ones I will cherish all my life. Cata was nothing compared to it... and I quit before Pandaria. Dalaran and Ulduar. I'll never forget the good times.
Créditer pour un mois d'abonnement , juste pour passer un peu de temps a Dalaran et le Norfendre ... Que de bons souvenirs ! La meilleure extension , sans aucun doute !!

That were some precious memories which im glad i have had the pleasure to experience and be a part of, good times.
😢❤️ this’ll never be the same
WoW! Take me to the 2009🙏🏻
Wotlk classic
prolly hands down one of the greatest music theme entering a city in any mmo ive played..
All my characters got heartstone to Dalaran! Dalaran will always be in my hearth
Simply beautiful and nostalgic. Heard this peaceful tune all the time chillin in Dala running heroics/lfr in good ole' Wotlk days.
I miss when this place was filled and flowing with life... I don't play anymore, but the empty streets were not a welcome sight.
This music is so damn nostalgic, Blizzard please more!
my heart started beating so fast when I heard this again.
Dalaran is going to once again become my new hangout. I love this music. I mean the feeling of being in dalaran is overwhelming. Most amazing city in wow, without a doubt.
This song marks a new dawn in my life. May it be remembered forever.
Wow... the memories are flooding me listening to this again... good times...
Miss sitting on the bank steps while waiting for wintergrasp.... Good times.
Dalaran. The best City of wow, best time of wow and the music is beautiful. Perfect!
Its amazing to read the comments here
All that love for a fantasy world
Blizzard Entertainment rly made something special and someting we old players never forget
I cant name a sigel game in this world that feels the same
God... chills !!!!!! I really miss World of Warcraft !!! and certainly WOTLK part ! i will never forget those old days !
I'm not crying. It's just.. These onions. God, I miss Dalaran.
I miss this area so much.. I quit around the release of cata... I found myself listening to wintergrasp music a few days ago, leading me to this.. I'm dropping a few tears atm as I speak...
Afff tiempos aquellos siempre cuando uno se quedaba en dalaran con los amigos y escuchando está preciosura
Lots of people mentioned leaving in 2009 and are now back in 2022. We must have heard the call.
Brings me back to those times when the raid for the night was over, and I had just HS'd back to Dalaran.
Also to some great times with friends.
:(
ll credit goes to Blizzard for making this master-piece of music and is by far my favourite piece from ALL of the Warcraft universe. I bow to you Russel Brower!
You still alive bro?
Dalaran will be the capital city in legion!
Makes me mad cuz I CAN'T AFFORD WOW! D:
M. Mosuily I'm not poor, just broke xD
+Blind Folded poor = broke m8
freezaplanet419 nah, not the same thing. I don't have a poor family, I just don't have enough money to pay da subscription brah
+Blind Folded 13 euro a month? or whatever it is in dollars? well sir you are broke.
sad to think every time i go here now there are only a few people if any at all..
the music that plays here.. at this moment when i stepped in to this town.. loneliness
sunk in.. it no longer lagged my pc.. by the population.. sitting in the under belly waiting for duels.. no one is here.. thats what this song feels like now.. "something that was, and never will be again..."
This brings back memories!
Saving up tokens (can't remember exactly what they were now) and racing back to dalaran when I had enough to get another piece of epic gear.
Forming a Tree form train on the day before it was changed.
Fishing in the fountain.
Messing about in bird form and accidentally falling to my death in front of standing players XD
thank you so much for uploading this music :)
I admit I was stoned af but that music made my first stroll through Dalaran take about 6 hours.
Walking, not running. Just enjoying.
Expect a more epic version of this in Legion.
I just feel like there was no point in playing after WOTLK, because Arthas was, at least for me, the final boss in the world of warcraft. He was the bastard I'd been waiting for since Warcraft 3. Once he was dead, I had nothing more to play for. WOTLK days were golden. One of the best times of my life
Northrend, Dalaran, Death Knight, Lich King....I miss WotLK. What an epic expansion it was and even more, what an epic experience and journey it was.
85 and I still have my home set in the inn for horde side. Partially for spirit beast checks but mostly for the music and atmosphere. Favorite city in the entire game.
beautiful words my friend
Seeing Dalaran completely deserted after having it so full of life for so long... makes me want to cry. I miss WotLK. :(
now that i think about it, you know what WoW needs?
Low Voltage
Dude u have no idea how much i agree with you, not only they would be rid of the complaints about: god i hate this and that expansion but they would make money out of people playing these servers instead of privates servers..
The music in this game is amazing. I remember going to Dalaran many times, and it always felt captivating to be there, if that makes sense lol
I miss WotLK :(
wow I loved the feeling flying over dalaran and I miss it ..
From my point of view WOTLK was the the best expansion ever released.
