      @@christosfragias592 I guess you like the Japanese a little more :) I like your reviews. I recently found a vintage fender mim jazz bass made in 1993 for £50.00. Upgrading the pickups to bartolini and just got the fender himass brass bridge. Will see how it sounds.

    i have the same bass.. i was think about changing the bridge to the fender himass bridge, which is used in player plus models.. Or would u recommend another Bridge?

    • @thelickedspoon

      Can’t go wrong with a himass, but for a vintage style look id recommend the Pure Vintage 60’s or 70’s bridges, theyre made in the USA on the same machinery as the original pieces from those decades, id recommend checking them out.

    Another good video. Love the color on your Player bass. Hey---can you tell me if you know of a source to acquire pickups for both the MIJ Hybrid II Jazz and P Bass? Those pickups are unusual and sound so good. Thump and zing. Thanks!

      @Kyle-fv2dy . Thank you for your kind words. Regarding pickups for the Hybrid II, I am not sure unless you can find them selling second-hand. I replaced mine with Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders. Keep ROCKING! 🤘🎸🎸🤘

      Thanks, Brandon. Really appreciate your kind words. I use Kyser Dr Stringfellow's Lem-Oil for the fretboard, and Dunlop 65 fret polishing cloths for the frets, every time I change strings. Makes the bass look brand new. Keep rocking. 🤘 🎸

    I was thinking of getting that wiring harness but my question is what happens when the pots or pot goes bad and needs replacing. Do I have to get a whole new harness again? Or can the pots be replaced? Thanks great video.

    • @christosfragias592
      @christosfragias592  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Cruise Angel. Firstly, thanks for your recognition. I would hope that never happens, as the quality is excellent, with some components saying they are made in Germany (at least on my HSH unit.) However, you could always revert back to the place of purchase and see if something could be arranged. Maybe it would be sent back to ObsidianWire for repair. Downside, your instrument would not be usable without replacement components. Keep ROCKING 🤘 🤘 🤘

    Thanks for the video, i rekon you would have a lot of fun with a jazz bass, … i just put hum-cancelling bartolini and suhr pickups into an older indonesian squire classic j… so much fun… bartolini make these b-axis pickups that sound like nothing else, almost acoustic sounding, but super hard to find in stock anywhere sadly

      Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with your Squier Classic Jazz. I have seriously contemplated buying a Fender Jazz bass. And now that Fender have released their made in Japan Hybrid II series, some of those Jazz basses look too tempting to resist. If I do, I will definitely post a review. Till then my friend, keep ROCKING 🤘

    Can we hear the bass, an A B comparison would have been nice. For traditional p tone, just play the bass. There is a reason why 80% of the rock/pop hits last century were recorded with a stock p bass. My experience with high mass bridges is that they add sustain and treble, two things I don’t seek in a traditional p tone. Nothing wrong with the stock parts, so idd do your research and play the instrument before spending extra money that might not even improve the tone to your liking.

    • @christosfragias592
      @christosfragias592  5 днів тому

      @timothysegal3589 . I focussed more on providing viewers with insights on my upgrades. There are more than enough videos on UA-cam on sound comparisons, but very few videos on providing informed commentary on upgrades. It's obvious your experiences, especially with Hi-mass bridges, are subjective and possibly some were negative. To clarify your comment, all the upgrades I made I thoroughly researched! Not only was I satisfied with the upgrades, their enhancements to tone and playing were beyond my expectations! It was definitely money well spent. And allows me to customise the instrument to my preferences. Subscribe to my channel! I am positive you will gain many benefits and insights!
